Bill was a wonderful host through his engaging conversation and his caring nature, southern hospitality at it’s finest.
Typically, we don’t stay in RV parks, but this exception was well worthwhile. Bill answered the phone right away and invited us in. When we told him we were really “dry campers” without a self contained RV, he set his hospitality into motion and in preparation of our arrival, he opened up the park’s bathrooms to serve us. So, we arrive and hail him on his cell as we’re looking toward the water’s edge. Donna turns to me and says, “wouldn’t it be wonderful to camp in that open grassy area by the water?”. Well, after Bill arrived and we all got aquatinted, Bill says we can camp right where Donna was dreaming, literally feet from the water. Woot! Ducks, martins, ospreys and an occasional jumping fish were very cool too. At sunrise we watched the painted colors of the dawn over the water.
Conveniently located a few miles off the beaten track yet worlds away from the everyday hustle with an exceptional host, Bill’s place is perfect on the way to or...
Read moreA campground hidden, way back, from the main road. If you blink you can easily miss the road to turn on to. The park does not have paved or asphalt roads but ill maintained gravel. And both bathroom houses were closed for use. The lots are small but have the necessary camper hook up and the view is beautiful however the price is too high, in my opinion, for the few amenities that this place boasts. It's more of an overpriced tiny cottage house campground. The upkeep for the property is subpar in my opinion. A one way in and out gravel road with holes to avoid. Disheveled/ dilapidated wooden structure on the property makes it look cheap. A small pier to fish off of was the only positive about this camping ground aside from the view. Even the view was blocked by some tiny homes that lacked up keep. They also charge you for having guests that may visit you while you're here; at $2 a head,...
Read moreMy wife and I enjoyed our overnight stay. This place is really quiet and peaceful. Exactly what we wanted this weekend. Bill was nice and easy to deal with. The stars were visible thanks to the minimal on site lights. The quality of the site we were at was good. The people we met were just as friendly as Bill. Unfortunately I had just a couple things that were disappointing. Some of the pictures on the website are really misleading. The water front is nothing more than some steps over a bulkhead. Information for visitors: There is no on site place to buy any necessities. There is no dog run area. Kids activities that most may expect do not exist. I personally would not recommend for families with kids wanting things like pools and activities. This is a great place for adult...
