Watauga River Cabins — Hotel in Elizabethton

Our family reunion was held on this property and we rented all the cabins but 1, but I got to see that cabin anyway. This is an awesome spot for large families or groups of friends as there are 5 cabins that can be rented. My husband and I stayed in Cedar Lodge which was beautifully appointed. The lodge is a collaboration of rustic decor and modern conveniences. Tastefully decorated and completely furnished: linens, flatware, dishes, pots and pans, laundry room, grills and smokers for outdoor cooking, games, and outdoor sporting equipment like kayaks and corn hole. 3 larger sized bedrooms can easily accommodate 6 people with room to spare! The kitchen is absolutely stunning with granite countertops, bar style seating, and modern stainless appliances. The hair-in cowhide covered dining room chairs were a classic cowboy style touch. Sliding barn style doors to the bathrooms add to the rustic charm and the master bathroom boasts saloon style swinging doors to the commode area. We loved the whiskey barrel sink base in the downstairs bathroom and the beautiful tiled shower with glass doors. Beautiful country views from every window in the house including wonderful views of the river. This cabin sits off the road and just above the Watauga River AND is at the very beginning of the premier trout fishing section of the Watauga. This river is very clean and can be used for canoeing, kayaking, rafting, and boating. There is a cabin located in the "basement" of this cabin and has its own private exterior entrance, covered outdoor sitting area with grill, stained concrete floors, fully-furnished kitchen, dining area, living room and well-appointed bathroom. The "barn" contains 3 cabins each with private entrance and views of the surrounding property and river. These cabins are tastefully decorated and fully furnished, with living areas, dining areas, kitchenettes, bedrooms and bathrooms. They share a common breezeway that always has a nice breeze blowing through it and has an outdoor bathroom and laundry facility. They share a common gazebo with corner grill and picnic table as well as an outdoor fire-pit and stairway down to the river. There was plenty of seating for my large family out on the covered back porch. We are planning our next trip to this very same place! Convenient to Elizabethton for shopping and sight-seeing. Convenient to Johnson City and several different rafting and boating...

I stayed here as a compromise between no vacation and a trip out to MT or ID for fishing. The cabin I stayed in was clean and had many of the necessities that were helpful for cooking at the cabin. The gazebo type shelter had a gas grill and was lighted with a timer so I could cook at night without worrying about starting coals or cooking in the dark.||||The cabin has Wifi and satellite TV(with a second TV in the bedroom) and allowed me the conveniences of home. Plus, the cabins are located on the start of the trophy section for trout fishing on the Watauga. This stretch just in front of the cabin is a nice gentle riffle that made for good fishing without having to get in the car.||||Plenty of towels and linens. Only things I would recommend to others would be to bring along any non-basic cooking utensils as there are limited offerings after forks, knives, spoons, and some prep knives. A good gas range/oven with pots and pans, plates, glasses and mugs. A fridge and a microwave as well. Perfect for my weekend stay. Will return as the rate is reasonable considering the location...

Had set up rentals for my family coming from Pennsylvania for my wedding, including my 94 year old grandmother. We were told to make payments through paypal, and made the first deposit. I was never instructed to make payments through a friends and family account as to not incur any additional charges. I was then excessively called on my personal phone and also at my place of employment over 47$!!!!!! Helen was beyond rude to me, and also a coworker. So now I am a month out of my wedding and having to secure another lodging option.
