I want to thank Mike, Lynne and their three daughters for a wonderful experience and will consider them an extension of my family. I am now a retired service member and spent my last 15 months at Glendale Campground while assigned to the near by Fort Knox Military Installation. I arrived there at four thirty in the morning late last January and Mike greeted me as I was pulling in. He could tell I was exhausted from the long drive from Oklahoma, he went above and beyond helping me get settled in so I could get some much needed sleep. The only negative thing I can say about my entire experience was out of their control, (...see my GPS told me to turn left on Puckett Rd. which turned out to be a driveway through someone's yard but took me right to Sportsman Lake Rd. anyway. DON'T GO THAT WAY LOL). I have been to countless campgrounds and I have never met a family or a business that is less selfish than this family. Myself and many of the seasonal campers that I was lucky enough to meet and get to know often joked about the only "Full Service Campground", I have witnessed Mike stop what he was in the middle of to go find a bolt, a washer, an extension cord, PVC pipe or what ever else someone may need to get them either fixed up for a comfortable stay or even back on the road not looking for anything in return but a thank you. I would advise anyone that is passing through that part of the Country to stop at the Glendale Campground relax, go for a swim in the pool, drop a line in the lake, (there are fish in it, caught a few myself), or just take in some nature. Be sure to visit the other campers during your stay, very friendly group of people. Thanks again...

No sewer hook-ups all taken by full-timers.||||Took seven 13 yr old girls on a bon-fire sleep-over. One, was our grandaughter who lives in E-town. We did have a blast, well, the girls did anyway. Cooked hotdogs, smores, and kept warm by the fire. ||||Met a crazy guy in a black truck going out while we were coming in, very rude and almost hit my truck because he was so impatient and sped around me. Chill out, camping allows you time away from people like that.||||The hosts were wonderful. We couldn't get the 'Bama football game on our TV, so they opened up a room for us and left the TV on. We locked up when we left. THANKS!! BTW, Alabama 8-0||||The washrooms need attention! Yes. Stalls very tight and uncomfortable. TP was pretty much gone. Needs daily cleaning.||||Wished they had more items for sale in the store, very short-handed on needs. I would stock that store with plenty more things. There are NO STORES CLOSE-BY except a Pilot gas station and a packed McDonalds. I had to drive nearly 15 miles to buy a hatchet, mine broke.||||Had a nice playground for the kids. They ran around and it kept them occupied.||||We met nice people and had a good time. We...
Read moreVisited my son for his Father's Day weekend to camp. The camp sites were nothing but dirt and stone and no grass. The management is only concerned about money. My sons friend in the campsite next to him was in the pool with his family and not told of check out time; the owner came to the pool yelling at him that check out time was 10 minutes ago and he needed to get out of the pool and leave or pay for another day. The owners daughter then came down and was even more rude yelling at them; my son told the girl she was really rude and she said she did not care what he thought. The owner then came to my son's campsite not to apologize for his daughter's rudeness but stated "do we have a problem". He was then rude to my son and he stated he was going to leave and customer service was obviously not his concern. My son told him he was going to write a bad review and tell everyone how they were treated. The owner said he did not care and "do you think that I have never had a bad review". They want to charge $5.00 for someone to come and visit your campsite for a few hours. There are no pictures of the dirt campsites and there are no fish in the lake; the...
