My family and I stayed at the eagles nest for 2 nights and just one full day. I must say my wife and I left feeling like the stayed had been longer. The serenity and total disconnect was exactly what city dwellers like ours selves needed. My kids absolutely loved staying in a real life tree house. The quality and craftsmanship of the house and decor was impeccable . This house you could tell was not cheaply constructed. This isn't your old run of the mill back yard tree house. It was filled with luxury amenities in a camping sense. From a small coffee maker, nice pots and pans, hot plate, dishes, a hot shower etc.. I mean some reviews I read were unreasonable in their complaints... I mean it is suppose to be camping for "God sakes"... technically your suppose to bring just about everything YOU would need for camping. Your definitely glamping in a good way with this beautiful tree home. The outside was great for kids looking for a good adventure. With wooden stick TPee's and lil bridges across mud puddles and plenty of places to hang a hammock. We also took the enchanted hike around the property which my kids loved spotting the hidden lil garden animals. We also found what looked to be baby bear prints along the trail. We definitely snapped pics of that. We made due with hot dogs over the fire and some dehydrated camping food from Walmart which was actually delicious. Walmart was only about a 25min drive to the Oakland area. We didn't have wifi but our phone worked find for the most part on the property off the property was another thing. We did take a quick 30 min drive to Swallow trail to see the waterfalls. Beautiful forest experience family friend just enough hike to make your body feel like you did something. Their were multiple picture worth streams and waterfall cascades. Also noteworthy visit less than 10 mins from the tree house is Monroe run vista overlooks. Get your camera ready because with a breath taking view of the forest below and clouds above you'll want to capture that amazing view to keep that memory forever. Needless to say when we pulled off to leave Ella's enchanted tree house my 3yr old cried and didn't want to leave and neither did we. We will be back as I...
Read moreIt was absolutely beautiful and loved the atmosphere and location. We stayed in the daydreamer and are definitely planning to go back. I only have 2 complaints which are pretty tedious but 1. There is no wifi. Because it rained all weekend we were there and we didn't have a lot to do in the evening. You can take dvd s but didn't see that when booking and didn't take any and what they had I already have seen ugh. Lol...whichWe did take games with us to play but when I was the only one awake I was bored. I did have my tablet and I used up all my data watching the ball drop on new years eve and watching Netflix. And also I think wifi is a good idea because I only had 1 bar of service but if someone doesn't have any then at least people can reach you through email or Facebook if there's an emergency. And 2. If you go with people other then family, everyone has to go into the bedroom down stairs to use the bathroom. I like no one bothering me through the night to use the bathroom cause I'm a light sleeper..But other then that there is nothing bad I can say about the day dreamer!! Just some FYI s for you if you are thinking about going here which I...
Read moreFirst off, I have been coming to the deep Creek Lake area since I was a child. I love this area and hold it close to my heart. I was very excited to be staying in one of their tree houses with my mother. However, their contract and advertisements are very misleading. My mother went to use the television and there was no cable. We were aware that there was no Wi-Fi provided, but their advertisement clearly says TV. When I reached out to the owner, they admitted that it used to say in their advertisement that there was no cable but that “it must have accidentally been deleted “. I absolutely would not have rented out this house knowing that there was no cable. The owners, even after admitting that their advertisement and contract do not state that they do not have cable refused to give me any type of refund. I was not asking for an entire refund, however I was asking for a partial refund due to THEIR mistake in the contract. Terrible customer service and terrible experience. I wasted hundreds of dollars for somewhere we did not even stay. There were also cobwebs in several places throughout the house that apparently gets cleaned...
