Good. The cabins are really nice, clean, good location, activities to do on property. They have corn hole, shuffle boards, games, bikes to ride, and grills.
Bad. The owners. There is a bunch of rules that are not in their book. If you want guest to visit, do not go there. On checkout day the husband told my wife checkout time is 10, he said this at 953; even though the rule books says 11. Our entire family was going to look into renting all the cabins for a weekend next year, but after the way we were treated by the owners that will definitely not happen.
After reading the comments from the owner, there is alot of incorrect replies from them. 1. Our busiest time with family was on Sunday. We had a total of 23 people for a lunch, including the 7 of us that stayed at the property. On that Sunday morning my Mom did let them know we were going to have a big group and nothing was said to her that it was unacceptable. WE DID NOT LEAVE A MESS. Both my Mom and I went through to make sure that everything was picked up. On Saturday we had a total of 10 family members for 2 hours and everyone was gone by 915 pm. We did not have any music playing. We spent our times either sitting around in chairs in front of the cabins or playing the games they had available. At NO time did any other guest come to use the common area. If they did, we would have let them use it. Yes I did use their grills, I brought my own, because i was informed they didn't want me to use it by the cabins. Yes we rented the smallest cabins, because that was all that was available...
Read moreThis place is TOP NOTCH. My wife and two kids (4 and 7) stayed here for the second time this year and love it. The owners of this place are personal, very attentive and pay attention to all the small things! We stayed in cottage 3 both two years in a row which fit us perfect for what we were doing. Has TV with netflix and the whole shabang! Cottage 3 came with all linens, beach towels, full kitchen, if you need anything they are just a phone call away! The have a community fire place stocked with beach toys, games, books, TV. Every night they prep the fire with firewood so its ready to be started, just that tells you how much love they put into the place
It's only a one mile bike ride to Elk rapids public beach which is stunning. Our 7 year old rode his bike while wife and I haul two bike trailers. One hauling our 4 year old, the other hauling our beach time, coolers, chairs etc!
Right across the street walking distance is the walk of art which features 30 plus art pieces scattered through the woods that runs right into another beautiful beach into lake Michigan. Downtown elk rapids is right next to the public beach and there's several restaurants, shops, ice cream shops that are all walking distance with a fun marina to walk around and see all the boats!
We also rented a boat from River Walk Restaurant and went through Elk Lake to...
Read moreMy son's family and I just stayed in cabin #2 for two nights. It was wonderful! The property is on a quiet street with a wonderful park and beach on Lake Michigan right across the street. Lots of space to walk and hunt for petoskey stones in the water. I arrived about 10 minutes after sunset, and given all the trees surrounding the resort it was quite dark. It was wonderful that the bedroom lights were on, which made it very inviting and warm. Lisa the owner greeted me as I got there and was unpacking my car. The owners have every little detail covered in the cottage, beds are great, well stocked kitchen, great book of maps and recommendations for us to use, close to town and a central spot for lots to see and do in the area. Super clean cabin, and decorated so cute. Our schedule didn't allow us to use the property club house and games, but hopefully the next time we stay we can stay longer. ...
