Fairhill Farm Country Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Elkton

Perfect location for our family visit to nearby relatives in Stanardsville. We've stayed in Carrie's Cottage twice now--once in October 2022 and once in November 2023. Both stays were wonderful. The beds are comfortable, and the cottage is charming. My kids love the wandering cats outside, the miniature horses in the field right across from the cottage, the tree fort (which looked like it had had some updates when we visited this year), and swing. I spent a little time on one of the trails on the property, but would love to do the full hike around the mountain on a future visit. Our stays have been in the fall (late October fall colors were beautiful), but I can imagine the views from the pool in the summer are gorgeous. The driveway is long and gravel but well-maintained. Alton is a responsive host who wants you to enjoy your stay....

We were so pleased upon arrival to find this lovely ranch home up on a hill overlooking the farm countryside and rolling hills. The home is nicely decorated and comfortable. My favorite moments were waking up, turning on the gas fireplace and enjoying my morning coffee. When it warmed up a little, I'd go sit in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch and take in the lovely views. Unfortunately it was past season for a dip in the pool but that has to be a huge benefit in the summer months. This location is in the heart of great sightseeing (Monticello and Montpelier are nearby), mountain drives and winery excursions. I had to find a quiet place to stay before visiting family in Virginia. Oh my gosh! What a gem of a find. This part of Virginia is the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen. The accommodation is perfect. Everything you could possibly need or want. I opened the door and found a sweet welcome note along with some very delicious local wine.
