Stayed in Loop A #4 with reservations made online. Table and Fire ring are fixed in place, there was room for my 6 man tent. Bring your own Shade, I was able to tie up a tarp to the trees to give protection from Morning & Evening Sun. Lots of Flies, I dont know why. No water here. Pit toilet was clean and freshly painted. But no hand sanitizer. Very Quiet with several empty campsites. Most other camp sites had vacancies too! At Night on a Clear Sky you can see the Milky Way with your bare eyes!

Nice space for car camping, didn't have to hike at all to set up our tent! Lots of accessible firewood, also with nearby toilets in excellent condition inside of a closed building. Overall, a great spot for intermediate yet casual campers! Just remember that you're in the Great Basin. Be prepared for it to be hot, rocky, and very dry--especially at night, and it gets cold! Watch out for small cactus scattered everywhere, especially if there are little kids with your camping trip.

My family stayed at campsite A6 on Loop A. A6 had space for 2 large tents and 1 vehicle. There was a fire ring and picnic table. Approximately 100 feet from the campsite was a creek.

Arrived late at night in a thunderstorm. (In the Nevada desert. Go figure.) But when the sun came up the next morning, wow, just beautiful. Really nice to be in a National Park and not be overwhelmed by people. Hell, we couldn't even see the next occupied campsite from ours. (Site A1)

Tragically, we had cloud cover both nights we were there, but late on the first night they parted just enough to give the clearest view of the Milky Way I've ever had.

Oh, and do not miss the Lehman Caves tour. Even if you've been to Carlsbad or one of the other National Park caves, this is a totally different experience and well worth the money.

For those timid souls put off by the 'NO WATER' thing, fear not: water is available at the Baker campsite right up the road. We just took a 5-gallon collapsible water jug and it worked just fine.

Pro Tip: Take freeze-dried backpacking food. You can prepare it in the package and not have to wash dishes. (In addition to there being no water, there are also no dishwashing...

I wanted to leave a review since it looks like it has been awhile. This was one of the loveliest campsites I have stayed at. We reserved site 3 in the C loop and had a corner of quiet, beautiful nature all to ourselves. The pit toilets are indeed quite nice. The site is well maintained—very spacious—and the stars are unreal. Fell asleep to crickets singing.

Good to knows: No cell service here or in Great Basin. We could get to road just fine in our two-wheel crossover (but very dusty!). Two picnic tables and a fire pit. You can buy firewood in...
