We so wanted this park to be a yearly spot and it started out great. Our first visit was in the fall of 2022, we were on our way from the Upper Peninsula in Michigan and wanted to stop somewhere to break up the drive. Had seen this place before on other trips so we decided to try it out. Called and was helped to get two full hookup sites. Employees on the phone were kind and check in went fine. We found the campground clean and has many nice amenities. Pool, propane fill, laundry, trash pick up and a food truck on site that is open a couple days a week. That quick stay was pleasant so we decided to come back the next year and explore more. We stayed in June 2023 for a week. Again staff was super nice, I mean we had never been to a park where everybody was so helpful and kind. Sleeping Bear Dunes is a super close 5 min drive down the road so seeing the sites is easy, and have the campground close makes it so easy to swing in for lunch. We enjoyed it and made plans for August 2024 to come back with our friends visiting us from Georgia. Not sure what changed but it was like a completely different campground. We were sent a email with the rules and regs a week or so before our arrival. In the new rules they have banned the use of electric bikes or scooters for anybody under the age of 21.........and said that exceptions would be made on a case by case basis. My wife and son are both handicapped with heart conditions so when we called to inquire about exceptions for them we were met with rude office staff and after asking the manager they refused to allow any exceptions for anybody under 21. At the same time staff refused to enforce there rules as after checking in we saw no less then 7-10 kids riding around a variety of electric scooters and bikes. I have no issues with this at all but you can't be two faced with the rules. The long list of unreasonable blanket rules is really out of hand. I understand you have to keep order but these seem excessive. We almost cancelled our reservations however decided to still go since our friends were coming. I don't know if the park has changed hands or what, this time staff was rude at check in and overall I would classify the collective attitude for staff as unfriendly. Such a difference from our previous visits. We had another trip planned for Sept 2024 however with the banning of electric bikes for our son we decided to go else where. When my wife called to cancel our reservation she was met with no surprise here rude staff. Very short on the phone and repeatedly saying that you're not getting refunded for this and this and this, So you are gonna lose $50. $30 of this is clearly stated in the rules so we understood this, however where an extra $20 fee came from I don't know. Apparently making them up as we go. I desperately want to give this place a better review however with staff going our of there way to be rude for no reason and a list of rules a mile long with no exceptions for the handicap I just can't. I just want to let people know going into it. I wish who ever was running it in 2022 and 2023 was still there. It would receive high reviews and we would return yearly. However this has been scratched from the list and...

Read moreWe are at Indigo Bluffs right now, and I have to say that it has been disappointing from the start. There are two sections to this park (which we were aware of before we booked) - the RV Resort and the "RV Park." The RV Resort is only open to motor homes and 5th wheels and sectioned off from the "riff raff" by a fence of rebar! Kinda says it all.
The "RV Park" section is nothing more than a glorified state campground except you are paying the price for an rv park. We are in a full hook up site (which is nice) with a small concrete pad (which is nice) surrounded by nothing but dirt. The fire pit is surrounded by dirt.
When we got to our site, we found a greasy mess left from the previous folks and asked if we could simply move into the site next to us (since they don't allow you to pick/lock in a site and don't "assign" you a site until you arrive, we figured they could just switch us to the site right next door which was unoccupied and clean(er). Now, I realize that I do not understand the inner workings of whatever program they use to keep track of guests coming or going, but my issue is with the attitude and absence of any attempt to be accomodating. We were rudely told by two staff that we could not move to a different site and when the greasy mess was pointed out the staff person shrugged his shoulders as if to say - big deal. To be fair, that staff person did attempt to clean up the mess which was nice.
For the price and because this is advertised as an "RV Park," there should be gravel around the fire pit and gravel covering dirt around the sites. Pictures on the website need to more honestly depict the entire sites including the concrete pad AND the dirt.
Last thing that I want to mention is that the pool was in need of repair (inside needed to be painted or tiled - not sure what was going on but it didn't look quite right) and the water was totally cloudy (clearly attention to the ph levels was needed).
The layout of the campground (not an RV Park ;)) was cool offering unique set ups for groups trying to be close or together. With a more friendly, accomodating staff and more honest depiction and labeling about what the campground here really is (again, not an RV Park), and lower prices to align with a campground and not an RV Park, I think there would be less of a shock...
