As I type this from the small bed in one of the guest rooms, on the frustratingly slow standard Internet, I hear someone whistling constantly near my room, someone else's phone ringing, vacuuming above, and people talking outiside, in the parking lot--I'm on the 4th floor... This is the oddest location, not really near anything interesting, definitely not walkable to the strip. The disappointing hassle that was breakfast was a confusing half an hour ordeal before I sat own to eat my cold, overpriced food. FYI there is no complimentary breakfast, you have to pay. Oh and wait to be seated, but no one is manning the podium, so I just walked in and started making a waffle. I was greeted several minutes later by an employee in a red shirt who didn't clearly explain to me that there were levels of what breakfast you can get and the cost. It was a frustratingly confusing mess. It's different prices depending on whether or not you get a voucher from the front desk, but apparently their coveted HHonors member didn't matter in discounts or anything at all. So much for feeling valued. It was all very confusing andy incredibly frustrating to deal with and figure out with a groggy tired mind and empty empty stomach, several timezones away from home. I never got a clear answer on X portion/section of the food is X amount of cost, rather I was being asked, "what do you want?" multiple times, as if I was expected to list every item I would commit to eating. My exhausted self was just hungry, and not appreciating this frustrating interaction. So I can't give you an accurate analysis of if you want everything or muffin so and eggs but not meat? I don't know, I took a to-go box, paid with a credit card and went up to my room to eat my hard, cold food.
The glamorous life of traveling, everyone. Lovely start to my Vegas vacation. Thanks.
I cannot even reheat up my food in anyway, as there is no microwave in the room, or anything, nor a refridgerator (when we made inquires, we were told it's $15/night if you wanna pay, yet we know of a fellow travel who got one...odd.. We are here for a solid week.. You do the math.) More skimping on taking care of your customers. This is BS.
We annoyingly have two separate small beds (between a twin and a full?) so my husband & I have to sleep separately the entire week. Sad, we travel a lot and this is just all around disappointing.
MY HUSBAND COULD NOT SLEEP WELL, when he is here for very important matters and needs not to be sweating and awake all night, he needs a cool temp room for restful sleep, this was incredibly frustrating!
I wish I had shower shoes for flip flops, because the shower does not look clean & sanitary, neither do the bathrooms floors, there are past people's hair and grime everywhere, and dirty toilet... I'm terrified i will walk away with some terrible contracted skin problem.
The dirty-with-chunks alarm clock does not have functioning buttons to change the incorrect local time, or operate the MP3 /AUX plug in that would be so nice to have working.
The maids and staff we have encountered are kind, and the reason for the star, and the hallway didn't reek of odd odors, but rather of air purifier, thank GOD.
They are in process of switching out mattresses this week, so their tiny elevators are either totally in use and basically inoperable for guests, or slow as hell for your...
Read moreI had to take a moment to gather my thoughts before writing his review. I love staying at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotels, that is why I chose to stay at the one in Las Vegas for my wedding. I called 5 months in advance and booked several rooms under my fiance's name, using his credit card I called at least three separate times asking different questions. My bridal party and I arrived on December 28th, we had drove four and a half hours from Phoenix Arizona. When I went to check in I was told that I could not use my fiance's credit card. I explained that my bridal party was arriving before he was arriving. I also explained that I called several times and I told this to the people who took our reservation. I was asked if I call the hotel or the reservation line I said tha I called the number that stated it was for the hotel. I asked if a call could be made to my fiance to verify that I was supposed to use the card. I was told no, my fiance had to be there in person to check us in. I was told this was an industry-standard I question that because I use my daughter's card to check in hotels and I've used my fiance's card to check in with no problem. The attendant then told me he'd been in the industry for 15 years and that no one allows anyone to do that. I am a military dependent and I travel the world using my sponsors credit-card. I asked if my fiance could make a video call and show his driver's license to verify his identification. I was told no because they could not verify his driver's license in that manner. There were no other hotels with any availability, my wedding was scheduled for New Year's Eve. I had to call my fiance and have him put cash into my account so that I could use my debit card to pay for the rooms. Now all of our available cash would be tied up for our wedding. I complained the next day to the day manager. He apologized and took one night off of one room. I am told him that my sister had two rooms under her name, and that my fiance would be checking into one of those. The manager then put my fiance's name on my sister's reservation so that he would not have any problems checking in. The following day my sister checked into her room. Later on that evening while at dinner I received a call from my fiance stating that he could not check in. The front desk needed to speak with my sister to verify that it was okay for him to check in even with his name on the reservation. My sister was on The Strip and we had a hard time reaching her. Eventually we did and my fiance was able to check in. Needless to say this was an embarrassing and extremely unnecessary experience. This hotel is nothing like the other Doubletree Hiltons...
Read moreFirst of all, I do need to call out the management here. There is STILL (as of 9/4/2023) only one working elevator and I went back and looked at reviews up to a year back consistently mentioning the one working elevator.
Management mentioned a year ago that a part is being ordered and hasn't gotten there yet in a former review. The other elevator is slow and feels like it is on its last legs. There isn't even a sign on the non-working elevator. The number on the first floor reads "1" as it's on the first floor, but the door obviously never opens and it doesn't work.
What do you have to say now, management? Over a year has passed and you've yet to fix the elevator. This is far below Hilton standards, I feel. If you can't get the part, replace the elevator.
As far as the room went, it was clean. Hot water wasn't as hot as I'd like it but other than that, room itself was a decent experience.
What I find bizarre is a community microwave. It looks so odd with the stand several feet from the wall and the cord extending to the outlet (about as far as it can stretch.) Microwaves retail to the public at about $50 or $60? Surely the Hilton Corporation can afford a Microwave for each room. I'd hate to see what would happen if someone decided to microwave fish or something pretty bad smelling.
Menu at on-site restaurant is pretty basic.
Another thing that's ridiculous is paying for parking. I was there on a busy holiday weekend and the parking lot was half empty. The manager will probably respond to this with something about "industry standard" but if you have an elevator out, you should probably not annoy your guests more by making them pay for parking when there are literally a ton of spaces open.
Another annoying thing...the body wash (shower gel?) was out in my room. Housekeeping did make up the room in between nights but did not refill the bottle or provide a new bottle.
I usually really like the Hilton brand but this was one of the very mediocre experiences. Not terrible, of course. But certainly not what I've come to expect from this brand. (And yes, I am writing under a different name. This is not my real name. But I stayed 9/2-9/4 and would be happy to provide management with my actual name if they respond here with a way to reach out. I say that because they've previously responded to a guest saying they have no record of them...
