A wonderful slice of Americana in this small, meticulously-kept, waterfront campground and marina. Hosts Dee and Bill met us at the gate immediately on arrival, helped us park and connect to water and electricity, and taught us how to make our first black/grey water dump. Yes, we were first-timers! But not made to feel as such as they gladly guided us through the RV routine, hosted us for a chat and made many recommendations of things to see and do and eat in the immediate vicinity. Just a two minute walk off the property is a lovely long dock on the Lake Erie channel, with stunning views of the harbor, nightly sunsets and the Lampe Marina. The campground was quiet, though at full capacity, which was to our liking. In fact, we liked it so much that 24 hrs later we extended our stay from our original four nights to ten! We had unbelievably good weather for the first nine days, and used the campground as our home base while exploring beautiful Erie, and visiting Amish shops and homesteads in Middlefield, Ohio, which was an under two hour drive. We spent two consecutive sunny 85 degree days at Beach 10 on spectacular Presque Isle. And every evening at dusk returned to our safe and welcoming spot at Lampe in time to watch the sunset over Lake Erie from our RV window. Every morning we saw Bill making his rounds in the golf-cart, always on top of everything, like the Mayor of Lampe! We'll be back someday, and highly recommend this campground. If I could give it 25...

Stayed here for 4 nights in July. Small campground with no extra ammenities (playground, camp store etc.) but that was fine with us. We only used the bathroom in our camper so can't comment on the campground bathrooms (although the bathroom and laundry were in what looked like a very nice, new building, but the rest of the park was well manicured and clean. Not many big mature trees for shade. My only down side was that we thought that since we were getting a site right along what looked like the lake, that we would have a lake view. The man who took my reservation also said, you'll have a great view of the water. Well, I did have a nice view if I stood at the top of my steps in my camper and looked out from there, unfortunately it was a wetland from the campground out to the lake and covered in very high weeds. But, at least you could walk out of the campground and just cross the parking lot and be along the channel coming in from the lake and also walk out on a long pier to a pier light. We spend several nice hours watching boats coming and going from that vantage point. The man at the campground was very nice and helpful, insisting on delivering firewood we bought in his golf cart, both times. The sites were all paved and very level. ||We would definitely come...

This is the first year that we ventured away from our normal spot. We’ve been wanting to try new places and last year we scouted this place. We were given a tour by the manager and we were so impressed , we booked a spot for this year.(2025) We spent 8 days here after the 4th of July and I can say that it did not disappoint! We chose site #45 next to the canal/walkway….. Loved the view of the sunrises and sunsets, and watching all the boats pass by ….. At night around 9pm they close the main gate to the main entrance, but there’s another gate down at the other end of the campground that’s always open for access. The bathhouse was spotless. Very clean… Even durning the daytime the campground seems quiet as well, then again we were next to the inlet too so. But even so … we got the vibe that it feels like an over 55 place. There were children but not many. The people were friendly….There were a couple of days that were cool with no humidity and a nice breeze coming off the lake blowing in the window. I noticed that the sites don’t stay empty very long…. One leaves and a few hours later someone else has it. This place fills up fast! Truthfully we prefer the Forrest setting , but this was a very enjoyable vacation. We made reservations for next year….. was a nice...

Very nicely maintained RV campground. We typically aim for more private wooded camping, but this one was right next to the South Pier fishing trail (see photo) we wanted to use, so we stayed one night. Friendly people and the most pristine bathhouse I've ever seen at a campground. Sites a little closer together than we prefer, but with a nice grassy "lawn" between them. I suspect most RVers would think the spacing was fine. No shade to speak of, but there are some young trees, so in ten years that might change. We opted for a site on the strip close to the water, but there really aren't any water views. There is a tall hedge of sumac and marsh grass against the fence (see photo). However, there were a multitude of different birds that frequented the hedge, so we got in some good birdwatching. Warblers, Finches, cedar waxwing, blackbirds. Overhead we saw geese, herons and osprey. Birds were loud in the morning, but we like that kind of alarm clock. Good stay. BTW, reserve ahead. Keep trying if you're trying to make a reservation and they don't get back to you. This is a busy place.
