USA Raft Adventure Resort — Hotel in Erwin

I booked an overnight 2 day rafting adventure down the Nolichucky River for Father’s Day weekend 2022 with my three sons and three other fiends and their sons - 10 people total. To say this was an adventure of a lifetime is an understatement. It was truly an epic adventure, and the memories we made with our sons will be talked about in our family for generations.

Our guides Wes, Elin and Ryan are the best in the industry. We have rafted many rivers over the years and we all agreed these three guides are some of the best in the world. We took three boats, one for the camping gear and supplies.

Wes, Elin and Ryan made us lunch, dinner and breakfast on the river. The camping spot they chose is called jaws and was situated next to a nice little wave for all of us to play in. Wes had the foresight to bring two inflatable kayaks and I watched my boys grow up right in front of me as they learned to kayak and surf. We saw a beautiful bald eagle both days soaring down the canyon. Ryan also shared his fire poi skills with us that night and it was a magical end to the first day.

Day two we woke up to the smell of fresh coffee and enjoyed a hot leisurely breakfast, broke camp, repacked the boats and headed down river for 8 more miles of the most beautiful, wild and scenic river country east of the Mississippi. Other than the railroad tracks, we did not see another human structure the entire trip, and the only other humans were fellow boaters and kayakers. Planned this trip a month ago, long overdue vacation with my wife. We scheduled a 1/2 day rafting trip, for 1:30pm. We both work late nights into early morning so getting up for the 8:30trip would have been a rough indevour. However the wonderful staff worked some magic and got us a group for 10:30am. Our guide Lauren was amazing, personable, knowledgeable and made our trip memorable and safe. At night our "Appalachian concierge" Cory was quick to get us what we needed, helpful, friendly and an all around great guy! We had a couple great evenings at the Take Out Tavern. The food was amazing, the beers ice cold, service was absolutely spot on weather it was to warm our bellies after the wonderful white water or after a few beers. We stayed in one of the domes, the pictures didn't even do it justice to how luxurious it would be. The bathhouse facility and sauna were clean and maintained daily. We had a wonderful surprise of live music by the Dirty Dead. The grounds had this amazing vibe and ambiance, it felt like I came home, it was home, and everyone there was my family. A completely magical vacation, we can not wait to go again. Already looking at the calendars! From start to finish USA Raft provided an excellent service. Our initial late night email enquiry regarding caving at Worley's Cave was responded to within an hour of the business opening the next day, and the young lady (I cant remember her name) was very informative about what to expect, what to wear, pricing, cancellation policy etc. (another company we checked out never responded to my telephone enquiry.) On the day of our trip our guide was DANI, and she was an absolute pleasure, not only was she extremely knowledgeable on the cave formations and its history, she was able to give us insight into the other trips provided by the company, information regarding rafting conditions at different times of year and the types/sizes of groups the company can accommodate. DANI is very easy to talk to and made sure we got the most from our cave visit, her guidance and experience ensured we were challenged by the terrain and were able to navigate the cave in a safe manner. Next time we are in the Blue Ridge area we will definitely use USA Raft for white water rafting, and may also book to reach the back of the cave. We had a really fun trip -...
