Recently stayed at the Whitcomb Inn. It is an old house situated right off a main thoroughfare. So, if you think because you are in the country you will have a quiet night sleep, forget about it! The Inn is so very close to the road that the noise just reverberates in the room. ||The rooms are nicely decorated with antique furniture but the bathroom was not very clean. The shower curtain had mold on it! I expect that from a cheap motel but NOT when you are paying $150.00 dollars a night! ||The breakfast is good but like another reviewer remarked, I could do without the dog begging for food while you eat. I don't happen to think that 's cute! ||Overall I would not recommend a friend or family member to stay here not because the people aren't friendly and welcoming but because of the noise and cleanliness of the Inn. || If you don't mind dogs begging, noisy trucks, motorcycles and cars roaring past your window at night and dirty shower curtains , this is the place for you. ...
Read moreStayed here for a work assignment. Marie, the owner was very gracious. She made a nice breakfast of scrambled eggs, local sausage, homefries and toast. Coffee and tea was always avaiable on Keurig. Room was clean and comfortable. Had own bathroom in hallway which was spacious. Had old fashioned clawfoot bathtub. It had been years since I had taken a nice luxurious bath and indulged. Well kept and enjoyable landscaping with access to creek in back. Did not use pool. ||||Reasons for not five star: Heavy traffic on road and front bedroom gets alot of road noise. Also bathroom in hallway has uneven flooring which can be tricky in middle of night which a night light would have helped. Very slight ledge up did trip me up in middle of night. Overall was still a pleasant place and would not hesitate...
Read moreA truly outstanding 5 night stay in this B&B. Warm and cozy room with all the amenities. The owner, Marie, is a friendly, hospitable and gracious host. She made her home feel like our home. Her culiary expertise offered us the most scrumptious breakfasts with all home baked breads and every evening she left us a homemade pie by to enjoy a slice of befor bed. Absolutely awesome. Her little dog "Whitty" Whicomb is a pure delight. I am already looking foward to our next stay there. Oh, did I mention they have a pool and hot tub as well! It was such a delight to watch fireworks while floating...
