First, Javier and his wife are lovely. They are very nice and meet each customer on arrival. We booked a 3-night stay in the Kokopelli Suite. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. |I took one star off for the traffic noise. I did look at the map when I booked, but the amount of traffic noise coming from the canyon was a surprise. It fortunately was predominantly during the daytime. The unit had a pretty view, but staying above the highway it catches all the noise. It was constant during the daytime. |I took one star off because this property is not really an "inn." There are no staff on site. As it was explained to me by Javier, most of the units are rented to long-term tenants. They will probably be converting the others to kitchenettes so they can also be rented out longer term. He also explained to me how far it was for them to drive to the property and they didn't realize how much "work" it would be with the housekeeping etc. He explained all this when we first met. I think I was afraid to "bother" them. I digress... Here are my main takeaways:|If you book this property, be aware that it is a 15-minute drive to town (yes, I knew it was not in town when I booked). There is a fridge, microwave, cups and dishes for two, but nowhere to clean them except the bathroom sink. We had no trash or towel exchange service. I am good with no housekeeping, but it would be nice if someone was around to collect trash &/or give fresh coffee cups. plates, etc. The hot tub was clean and worked great. |Miscellaneous note: They use Glade type plug-in air fresheners. When you enter the building it is very strong smelling. I was able to unplug the one in our room and leave it on the porch until we left. I mention this because I am not alone in being sensitive to smells. The screen door to the room did not open and close easily and was torn, so it made it hard to leave the door open for fresh air and keep any bugs out. |We paid 573.00 for the 3 nights and ended up leaving a day early. |I would not stay again. I noticed when we were leaving town and taking the highway toward Nederland, I saw a motel that looked nice and probably would have been better at our price point. I almost did not want to leave a review, but I booked based on the 5 star reviews of Kokopelli here on Trip Advisor, and I felt I needed to leave these notes for travelers who are want details.|The reviews I read. bio info about Javiery and his wife always wanting to own an inn, and the name of the property "Kokopelli Inn" led me to assume that the innkeepers were present and enjoyed providing hospitality. This...
Read moreFall visit to Estes Park. We stayed in the Kokopelli King Suite and it was just adorable. The king bed very comfy and loved the little fireplace and the 2 person shower...The bathroom sink basin was made from some old wood on the property. Very cool. We had sliding doors out too the deck with glider rockers and a little table and chairs. The hosts were wonderful and showed us around when we arrived.. The back patio and hot tub was so nice. We used it a few times. Very relaxing. Our room had everything we needed including some snacks, coffee, tea. You have a microwave, coffee maker and little fridge. The location is close to Estes Park, but far enough away from all the craziness. The view with the Aspens are just stunning from the property. Very rustic feel to the Inn. it was very clean and relaxing. Great for our Fall getaway to Estes park and Rocky Mountain national park. Only about 10-15 min to town and the park depending on traffic. Fall is a wonderful time to visit for stunning color...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed for 3 nights. The owners are friendly and attentive when you check in. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It is stocked with water, coffee pods, snacks, a refrigerator and a microwave. The jacuzzi out back is amazing after a long day of hiking. The only reason I did not give a 5/5 is because the 3rd night we had some very inconsiderate guests who stayed above us. They arrived after 11 at night and literally stomped back and forth for nearly an hour. The next morning at 6, the same thing. It was impossible to ignore and was persistent. (Can’t picture where anyone would be going in a room of this size or why they felt in necessary to stomp with every step). If you have polite neighbors, this is an affordable and inviting...
