My husband and I stayed at the Saddle and Surrey motel in Estes Park, Co. for 2 nights. The manager of the hotel was very cheerful and friendly. Her energy and attention to detail explains why the interior and exterior of the hotel was adorable, welcoming, and VERY important to me...scrupulously clean. We had a VERY comfortable king sized bed and even the charm of colored sheets the same color as the room. Our room had a microwave, fridge, a dining room table/desk, fold out couch, coffee table, chest of drawers, two bedside tables, a closet and a bathroom with a shower. (Even the window sills, grout, shower floor etc were clean) Free blow dryer and toiletries. They even left a welcome poem slipped into a decorative wash cloth in the bathroom. The tv was great and offered a tv guide option. I love it when hotels do that, but very few do. The Wi-Fi was free and imperative as we often could not get a separate signal when at the hotel. There was a free continental breakfast offered which consisted of a wide variety of pastries, muffins, toast, jelly, cold cereal and milk as well as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and juice. Our room was very well insulated and we heard no noise from the street nor from the other guests. The locks on the door and the windows were very secure. If you are traveling to Estes on the Peak to Peak highway, the hotel is on that same road, just as it enters town. There are hotels in the shopping district but the traffic, noise and crowds are HUGE. I would not have found that lack of privacy and noise tolerable. This hotel is close to shopping and the golf course, but not right in the thick of it. I need to get away from the crowds to relax . The hotel is very popular and was booked solid the whole time we were there, so get your reservations in as soon as possible. Estes is great fun, have a...
Read moreWe traveled to Estes Park by motorcycle. When I called in the reservation we were three hours away and not sure of our destination time. When I mentioned our possible arrival time, Barbara asked if we were planning on eating in Estes Park upon arriving. We were and she thoughtfully informed us that most restaurants close at nine. We were not aware of this and were glad she let us know. When we arrived Barbara greeted us with a smile and delightful personality. Definitely felt welcomed. I'm huge on clean rooms wherever I stay and this place was one of the best! When I opened the door I thought it looked clean but as most travelers know, that's not always true. I did my usual inspecting the bathroom and checking under the covers in the bed. After a long day of riding over 600 miles I was looking forward to a clean comfy bed and hot shower. The bed was wonderful. Not only did i sleep sound but my boyfriend did as well. He suffers from back pain and after sleeping in a hotel bed, he's usually miserable. For him to love the bed, it had to be good. The shower was hot; not just warm like most places. The place was originally built in the 50s and unfortunately unable to be altered which is why the showers are small. However, they were clean and updated. Overall i was very impressed with everything from cleanliness of the room to the properties appearance. They've done a wonderful job keeping this place updated and welcoming. For the location being Estes Park, room quality, and traveling on a budget the price was great too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Usually I don't leave reviews but was so pleased with the place I wanted to. I always check Google reviews before making reservations...
Read moreI could not recommend this place more! My friend and I recently came to Estes Park for memorial Day weekend as we were vendors in the art market and we needed a place to stay that was affordable but also close by. We booked three nights at the Saddle and Surrey as it had some of the best prices. We weren't expecting much but this motel absolutely delivered! The room was CLEAN, spotless! The bed was comfortable and the room was larger than we were expecting. Part of why we booked here was for the mini fridge and microwave in each room since we were bringing our own food to eat (profit margins for art vendors are razor thin) and the mini fridge was bigger than expected and they even let us use their staff freezer for what didn't fit in the mini fridge's little freezer. They also came in absolute clutch for us when we had a problem with our vendor rent and truly saved our weekend. The service here is UNMATCHED. The breakfast was also delicious and we appreciated the fresh fruit and tasty muffins! We fully intend to come and stay here again in the future for just a fun, relaxing Estes Park trip. Thank you staff of Saddle and...
