I think this might be my favorite campground in Nevada. It’s certainly the one I visit most frequently (two or three times per year, for the last three years.) It’s conveniently located right off Route 50. It’s high enough (7,200 ft) to be cool at night, and not as hot as the valleys during the day. It’s very small (only ten sites) but the sites are spacious, with mature Pinyon, Juniper, and Sage as the main greenery. The campsite Pinyons are trimmed to provide shade. Each site has a parking area, a tent area, a metal table, fire pit, and grill. The whole place is very clean, and very quiet. I’ve never been here when the campground was full, and a few times I’ve been the only one here. For whatever reason, I’ve never seen a family here - mostly singles, and usually older. Yes, you can hear traffic on Route 50 during the day, but is faint and infrequent. As other folks have mentioned, there are bathrooms and water taps. No trash collection and no dump station. There are walking trails in the hills on both sides...

This is a remarkable little campground owing to its isolation in combination with surprise pleasantries that include excellent Verizon service, fresh water, garbage collection and flush toilets. Proximity to a variety of mountain bike trails and small stands of aspen make it even more notable as a pip in the otherwise hostile Nevada desert. There are 9 spurs and a group site, a handful of which fit trailers over 30'. The northern most sites are preferable due to less road noise. Sadly, though, this campground hasn't received much love in recent times. The toilets are dirty and leaking and at least at the time of our stay trash hadn't been collected in days. Our particular spur also had broken glass around the fire ring. These issues aside the views are spectacular and we...

A self-service $10/night campground off the loneliest highway in America, this place was a great welcome and relief.

About three sites available when we pulled in around 8 pm. Many RVs, at least one of which was there due to CA wildfires.

Clean, charming sites of pinyon pine and sagebrush overlooking winding highway, hills, and ravishing sunsets. And p.s. a sometimes noisy semi truck pull-off.

Bathrooms had flush vault toilet, running water in sink, and water pumps available near sites.

Also nearby is the historic quaint town...

This is a small campground in the mountains above Austin. They have flush toilets and water. The sites are well spread out and ours had a great view. A few are large enough for a 30' plus trailer but many sites are not level which can make it tricky for RVs and tenters alike. The Pinyon pine/Sagebrush area is quite lovely. Some reviewers complained about traffic noise from Hwy 50 but it wasn't bad, after all, it is the loneliest road in America!
