My wife, kids and I recently stayed at the West Michigan Campground from Friday, June 13th to Friday, June 20th. Seeing it was Father's Day Weekend (which also happens to be my birthday this year too) and our anniversary on the 19th, we would do a Family Camping Trip.||The weekend started out fine, a very welcoming Gate Attendant greeted us, gave us our check-in info, pool wrist bands, etc. and even made a point to let us know that if at any time we needed new pool wrist bands to just drop by the office to get some (probably because she saw we had 4 kids with us). Saturday was a ton of fun; we enjoyed the wagon ride where one of the staff happened to mention that a "Corporate" person was visiting that weekend so the campground was extra staffed. We didn't think much of it and continued our day. Later that evening my wife and I walked down to the bath houses to get showers and were pleasantly surprised at how clean they were, even though it was around 9pm. Even though we have a camper, our preference is to use the campground's facilities as they have more room. Anyways, Sunday came and went without incident.||Once Monday hit, it was like a 180 happened. Staff was not as friendly as they were on the weekend. We got down to the Train Ride right about 5 and were told we couldn't ride as the train started at 4p (mind you the train ride did multiple trips on Saturday night). Then Tuesday my wife went to do laundry and didn't have quarters and there was no change machine in the laundry area. She went up to the main desk and inquired about getting quarters and was told she couldn't get any there either. When I got home from a Work Golf Outing, I drove my wife to White Cloud (after dinner) so we could do laundry. We got back late, got the kids to bed and then headed down to the showers. However, the showers were filthy. The one stall had 3in of mud water in it, the next had trash and a bottle in it, so we went over to the bathrooms and took showers there (except the water was cold). Speaking of the bathrooms, the men's bathroom was without Soap from Monday to Wednesday afternoon, when I said something to the office. So, Wednesday night comes, my wife and I head down to the showers, and they were in the same condition as they were Tuesday evening. Tuesday night we figured maybe since it was so late, that was why the showers were gross but when almost a full 24hrs goes by, that to us indicates no one bothered to clean them. So, we took cold showers again using the showers in the bathrooms. Thursday afternoon comes and as we walked to the pool, I decided to go look at the showers and to my disappointment they were still in the same condition as they were Tuesday night. A good 36 hours had gone by and nothing was cleaned. While at the pool, a staff member asked where my wrist band was, I told him I took it off as it was about to fall off and forgot it at my campsite. He said I needed to have a wrist band, so I obliged and went to the office to get one. The lady in the office started giving me a hard time about it and said I needed to present my old one for a new one (even though that is not what the Gate Attendant told us at check in). I said it was back at my camper and she said we need the old one to prove we are staying there. By this point I was losing patience, I just wanted to get back to the pool to hang out with my wife and kids on our last day before we leave. I told the lady I had been here since the 13th, and I go home Friday. Finally, she decides to look up my site/name to "prove" I was not lying. When she saw we had 4 kids she tried to make light of her rudeness by joking about needing new bands because kids are kids. I finally got the wrist bands and was able to go back to the pool. Yet, we still couldn't enjoy ourselves because the pool staff person made us but the umbrella down (even though we were sitting right at the table) due to some small, mild wind gusts. So again, we obliged and tried to salvage the remainder of the afternoon. Friday we checked out and went home.||In summary, what started out as a promising weekend became a week of disappointment after the corporate person left. For almost $100 dollars a night, I would expect high standards regardless of if a corporate person is visiting or not. Honestly, this Campground is not all that great to begin with except for the pools. The bathrooms/shower house are outdated, the mini golf course is in dire need of an upgrade and the staff all could use some customer service training. The only thing it has going for it is the pool/Pirate Cove Slides and the newer playground. If you were to ask me if we would recommend Adventure Bound West Michigan, I would say no. Save your money and if you really want to use the Pools, then just make a day trip and pay the...

My family and I just camped here and I have to say it was a disappointment, especially with the price you pay to stay here. When we got there we saw we didn’t have a fire pit and there were ashes and burned cans just sitting on the ground. I called multiple times for the staff to tell me to take the pit next to my campsite, which was also filled with ashes. So I went to the office and asked for someone to come and shovel up all the ashes and cans. To which they replied they didn’t have anyone who could. Mind you I called on arrival around 1:45 and no one came, called again and they said they’d look into it. And then called again because we were cooking dinner on the fire that night so nothing was resolved on their end I had to get a pit at another site. And then I got a shovel and trash bag from the office so we could clean up the area ourselves. This is something that should have been completed well before our arrival and not something I should have had to address so many times. Next, the staff is way more concerned about wrist bands then the golf carts that fly around the campground. From our site there was an intersection and saw multiple kids just nearly missed by golf carts… the next frustrating situation was a staff member who decided that since we had free ice cream scoop coupons she’d take it upon herself to give us literally just an ice cream scoop while other members in our group being served by a different employee got the whole scoop bowl filled. And then proceeded to do it again a couple days later and we overheard and saw her give the coupons to another staff member and say I gave them really small scoops…. No money came out of her pocket so why would it matter if we had free ice cream coupons and why treat people like this!? There’s no reason for it. The staff here that we dealt with were not great and created unnecessary situations for no reason. I will probably never camp with adventure bound again. This was my families first time and we were very unimpressed with them. I will say the older lady that helps with the train rides and the elderly man security guard were very kind and so sweet! But other than that I’m very disappointed in how we were treated multiple times and the lack of care from staff here. The trails are not maintained and covered with fallen leaves. The beach had trash all over it and looked more like a swamp than a lake. I will say the pools and slides are very nice and everyone we camped with loved them. But outside of that your dealing with people drinking and driving on their golf carts, going way faster than they should be in a campground while blaring music, and...

Woods and Water was the best campground in our area back before it was sold to ABC, so much so that we decided to become a seasonal.||We started off with the 2020 season at $2050 and it was difficult due to the pandemic but we still made the best of it and enjoyed our summer. 2021 season there was an increase to $2200, understandable since it was taken over by a corporation and we expected the price hike, still worth every penny. 2022 season there was yet again a price increase, this time to $2900. This made us really question moving forward but since they were bringing in a waterpark we decided to stick around to enjoy it.||This past season was nothing but a disappointment, weekend after weekend. First we were told the waterpark would be done by Memorial Day….they had hardly broken ground….then 4th of July….nothing more than cement poured….now end of August….nothing. Now, the end of the season it’s almost there but STILL not done. False advertising on their site, sure it’s done in 2022 but not useable due to living in Michigan! Every weekend seemed to be the same, train rides…craft…hayride…dance party. It was like the movie Groundhogs Day. We decided early on that we wouldn’t be returning for another season. Contracts go out and I didn’t get ours until August 27th after our kids begged to give it another year. So I went and got the contract, was willing to pay another $700 increase when low and behold our site was given away before our decision deadline of September 6th! When confronted about the situation the manager said since I said on Facebook we weren’t returning then that was her means to go against our contract. Mind you, she time and time again said ABC does not do business through social media. People are allowed to change their minds, that’s why there are LEGAL deadlines. Needless to say we were told to not return since we called her out and embarrassed her in front of others in the office for her stupid decision.||If you want to camp at a money pit place where management blames every mistake they make on corporate, dusty roads that are never brined, unkept beach, nasty mold filled pool area, rude security and staff, private Facebook page for seasonals run like a cult to complain about weekend campers, drunk loud campsites that nothing is done about at wee hours in the morning, tons of drunk golf cart operators flying around, and kids running wild then this is the...
