The front desk had closed early (we got there at 4:30 sign reads Closed 5 p.m.) when we arrived. Our registration envelopes were conveniently hanging out front amongst other expected guests. The posted instructions to go to the front office to complete the registration the next morning. Front desk was helpful and friendly. However, walking back to our campsite (compared to many other rv stays we experienced), we found that the guys driving around the small electric "golf" carts aren't too friendly. I guess we are used to having staff zipping by and always either smiling or waving; not here. It would have added a welcoming touch which this location neglected. I also noticed none of the newly vacated sites were never groomed by staff. I usually been to other campgrounds were maintenance would come by, check/switch off the power, rake or sweep up the vacated site, basically tidy up; not here. The pull thru sites are very close to one another. The hookups are located almost in the middle of your rv site; meaning you may find yourself directly in front the your neighbor's sewer/dump connection. We like to hang out/cook right outside our rv. Given the narrow rv site, the ridiculous view/sometimes smell of the sewer would occasionally put a damper on our spot. It basically felt like we were going to eat/or hang out with an open toilet in front of you. Lots of very fine dirt so be prepared; at times if felt like camping in a dust bowl. Everytime a vehicle drove by, a cloud of fine dirt kicked up; not too good when youre eating or relaxing. I recommend reserving your rv site along the river. Those sites seemed to have more room and definitely a better view of the river. If you are planning to arrive at after sunset, it is absolutely dark. Great if you are already settled in. However, after dark, site numbers are too small and hard to spot. One side of the campground (office side), there are two port a pottys. It was a Monday morning, I decided to make use of them. There was hardly any chemical liquids in either one. Both had poop pyramids stacked almost toilet lid level. It was "clean" equipment but the waste was ridiculously disgusting. There are two, single person shower-only facilities nearby with an outdoor sink for washing dishes as I seen tent campers doing earlier. The opposite side of the campground (near the river) has fully functioning toilets. The campground's location is very good. Although the main gate is near by, the trek up the mountain from the main gate to the Giant Forest Museum was about 40 minutes. The trip to Visalia is in the opposite direction and could be from 40 to 50 minutes away. That town has all the comforts that you will need. Good place to visit. Cell phone service is very weak at the campground. The campground's Wi-Fi showed as excellent yet it was too weak to stream movies. I had better service here if I disconnected from the wifi and relied on my spotty network. The river was very nice. I saw kids playing in the water. Lots of small business/restaurants near by. This place was okay for our immediate needs but I can't say we will come back. Footnote: One of groundskeepers came up to us and asked us if we had e-bicycles? He continued to say that for the past year, someone is coming to the campground and stealing them for the past year. We don't have bikes of any kind, so beware. One pic depicts neighbor's sewer hookup setup directly in front of our door/awning area. It's closer...

The manager and his wife absolutely lovely people. They are definitely the couple you sit and chat with all night long at camp. There are beautiful humming birds that feed on the flowers along the river. The sound of the River is relaxing if the site isn't crowded. The dog park is big, be careful ground animals dig holes and you may trip or the ground will collapse beneath you amd theres frogs in the poop can. There a beautiful lone mare that will come and talk with your pups and watch you play. Locals also use this park but are pleasant. Dumpster are easy to navigate to. The hillside view is beautiful near the river.

This was 1-1.5 hours from the major points in Sequoia and the drive is winding/steep.

Someone else was using our site the first night we were here, we had them move their vehicles but they continued using our site and left their trash ( food, plastics, dog excrement). Make sure your ready to hook up your campers water and sewer ( the hook ups are sketchy but work) because the shower situation screams we prefer you to use your camper. Laundry is good, $1.25 for 28 minute wash and $1 for 50 minute dry ( The wall gives different times but its been the cheapest I've experienced). There are only 2 washers and 2 dryers, they are shared with the residence in the trailer park ( some of the nicest people I ever met). The swimming situation is a stream, please respect others campers and use the designated entrance. So many people just walked through our site then complained that my 100 lb Mastiff was minding his business in the space we paid for.

There are so many bees and flys. There isn't gravel or grass, it's all dirt. Unavoidable dusty dirt. It will be in and on everything. Sand like dirt.

I would not come here on a holiday weekend or when I know it's busy. We almost left because of how crowded it was the first night and everything seemed disorganized and dirty. However, the people who run the site were on top of any and everything they could be.

It could use and upgrade and was...

Where to start..... this place has so much potential..... awesome awesome location, very nice creek/river that is accessible via the campground perfect for cooling off. But beyond that..... not much to expect. 85% of the campground "roads" are silt dirt with gravel thinly scattered here and there (tons of dust) but thats not even a big deal for us.... the breaking factor was the lack of bathrooms / bath houses..... there are 2 "bathouses" on property, 1 up by the office which is showers only with porta John's beside them..... the showers in this bath house were disgusting!!!! like the owners should be ashamed type of disgusting.... not air conditioned either so they are like a suana....you also have to insert quarters to use said showers so even drives my point home that there is no excuss for these to not be in decent shape..... the other bath house was SLIGHTLY better but was an even worse location in the midst of a private trailer park circle..... also not air conditioned..... best advice its a decent place to put your camper if your going to the Sequoia park but beyond that if you don't have your own bathroom in your camper I'd highly suggest looking elsewhere.... if the owners see this I can promise with a little time and money it could be a AMAZING campground..... best of luck to you...

1 star on rooms due to the disgusting bathrooms

3 star on service because we did get "upgraded" to a river site due to a cancelation before we arrived (which we are very grateful for) but we did have a issue with a power outage from a nearby Forrest fire and the town cut the power off (thats not the campground fault) but I had called and left a msg when that happened it was after they had closed the office and went straight to Voice-mail, I left a Voice-mail and never got a call back.....

5 stars on location........

The best place to stay with your RV or trailer when you're visiting Sequoia national Park. We stayed here in April 2025 in 30-ft Airstream. The first night we dry camped in space 17. The space was very large and completely clean and very private as none of the other dry camping spaces were taken. Then we camped at Riverside campsite number 35 for four nights. The riverfront sites are All large back in sites. We did have to ask our neighbor to move his tow vehicle so we could get into the spot, but he was very nice about it and we had no problems. We had no cell service available on Google fi or T-Mobile. The camp does have good Wi-Fi. I was able to download at more than 1.5 MB/sec which is more than enough for streaming videos, much less doing normal internet browsing, making phone calls etc. Hookups were fine, we had no issues. The resort is large and is attached to a small mobile home park. Reception was very friendly and there is a small lounge at reception. They have a small laundry and a shower house, both operated by quarters. It's a bit unfortunate they charge for showers given this is not an inexpensive park to stay at, but our airstream has a plenty nice shower so we were fine. There is a also a private beach and swimming hole on the river. The local town is about 5 minutes away and it has a really good supermarket and also a really good hardware store. There are also plenty of restaurant options. The Sequoia National Park entrance is roughly a 10-minute drive East. Kings canyon is about a 90 minute drive to the north via local roads via Pinehurst. Do not attempt to take your RV or trailer over 22 feet on either one of these roads - you need to stay on the main highway in your larger rig.
