I only stopped in in hopes of obtaining change for a 20$ bill due to mistakenly not realizing I would need 12$ exact to pay the camp fee across the road from them. I entered establishment and I will say they've outdoor themselves it looks as one would describe a enchanted scene from a book almost (main cabin) but that's all the magic I experiences as the staff when I presented them with my request/ question looked at me as though I was speaking forign, and for a short full minute or so I stoop there silently as the staff 2 females looked at one another back and forth while saying nothing until they oddly both began to speak only one answer triumphed as the other faded itself out. Simply stating "we don't accept cash, not at all," as if my "foreign trash currency" is what I took you to see for my perfectly decent 20$ bill. I know it was just terribly awkward and uncomfortable and upon leaving I was a bit perplexed due to the reality being :::: a simple "I'm sorry but we don't , we've changed to only debit and/or credit. as a precaution, we had set due to the pandemic." Rather than having a potential customer or critic left leaving to feel as though they did something wrong and that an apology is due to the staff for taking up their precious time with such an obvious and stupid based question.... Rude!! but it's still an amazingly beautiful...
Read moreAfter 5 years of annual trips to Hidden Canyon Lodge, I feel like I’m the luckiest person around to have found this bit of heaven. Hidden Canyon Lodge is first and foremost the best located lodge in the Missouri. Sitting on the river and across from Mountain Palace, guests cannot ask for more.
Accommodations at HCL are top notch. Comfortable, well designed and maintained, and full of details that make this lodge feel like home. Heated bathroom floors! Yes, please.
Finally, the staff are now family. Maddie, Kelsey, and the team know your name almost immediately, and their service cannot be matched. Fly fishing guides from the area even speak fondly of this staff and regularly send best wishes to them following a day on the river.
If you are looking for a phenomenal resort, on the best location of one of the world’s best fisheries, and with an unmatched staff, this is it. There are more expensive lodges, but money won’t buy...
Read moreOk, Now I posted a few pics of the view from the front of this lodge. Me, I camp across the street. I've been in this lodge a few times as a guest and the gal manager is fantastic. Her cooking is great, her hospitality is great, I'm sure the guide service is great (it is the MO after all). Don't know the prices or the guides but the rooms (new) are like a nice Days Inn. Honestly, the view in the morning and on their outdoor patio (great for a cigar) is The Best! I'll be across the street again this year...
