Their website is a complete misrepresentation of their place. When we arrived at 5pm nobody was there to check us in. They left our keys in an envelope. When we got to our cabin which was about 300 yards from an insanely busy road, we realized there was no yard space, no privacy. We decided to take our dogs for a walk so they could stretch their legs, on one of the hiking trails they brag about being right around the resort, the only trail they have around the resort leads to a rock quarry where they dump their old furniture/appliance and whatever other junk they have laying around. The docks that they have pictured on the website are ALL but two sinking into the water (one of the many lawsuits waiting to happen) Our cabin, which the website promises all cabins have a full kitchen, had only a mini fridge. Another problem, the cabin had no AC. The website braggs that cabins 1-5 have AC. It was 85 degrees when we showed up and the cabin was completely closed up, hot and stuffy. Making an already old and musty cabin, even mustier. We figured we could speak to someone and get moved to a different cabin with AC and a full fridge. No luck. The only person up at the lodge was a bartender who claimed to know nothing and said that someone should be back the next day to help us. What a load of crap. We spent the night in the blistering hot cabin, it was miserable. We had to drive to town, spend $25 on ice to keep our food cold after 7 hours of driving. The cabin itself was very old, there was so much disrepair and broken things, it was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Half of the lamps had lightbulbs burnt out. And it was far from clean. The bedding and sheets did seem clean, aside from a few stains.||We woke up the next day hopeful we could get our cabin matter resolved. We went up to the main office around 9, the lady at the front desk told us the manager should be there sometime that morning, when we asked if she had a timeframe of when she would arrive, she said "im not sure, we never really know, but i can give her your number and have her call you". By 11am we still hadnt heard back so we went back to the office, same thing. Finally around 11:45 we got a call from a very sassy, unhelpful manager who had no idea what was even on the website, stating that none of the cabins have AC, asked multiple times where i saw that listed. I told her i have screenshots of their websites homepage stating "NEW IN 2025 CABINS 1-5 HAVE AIR CONDITIONING" We realized we were getting nowhere with her so we compromised to get moved to a different cabin with a full size fridge, no discount or anything. This next cabin, even closer to the busy road, was small but cozy, no cleaner than the other one. On the final night of our stay the fridge malfunctioned and made an incessant buzzing noise. The railing was very weak and one of the many other lawsuits waiting to happen, all it would take was a little kid playig on the deck to tuble down into the rocks and lake below. There were cars and big trucks zooming by at all hours of the night. The "campground" across the busy road was just a parking lot where people could park their campers with hookups. The "bath houses" for the campers were out of commission, the toilets filled with dirt. So anyone camping that wanted to shower had to borrow a key for one of the other cabins and wait their turn to shower & use the port a potty provided to do their business.||The customer service remained absolutely horrible throughout the entire stay. At no point did anyone come to check on us. The place was basically a free for all. Our friends cabin had a door that didnt lock, their door frame was busted. We booked through expedia, stated we had 3 dogs, were charged 1/2 up front and figured after our stay we would get the other remaining charge, when we were charged the resort added a $200 fee for our pets, which we had assumed was included in the expedia price, they refused to do anything about it. We will most definitely never be back and will tell everyone who asks about how absolutely atrocious our experience was at this glorified super 8 on a rocky lot off of a...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about writing this review and I had a hard time deciding if I should do one or two stars, but I feel two stars would be more acceptable about our stay. I called on Friday afternoon asking if they had a RV spot available that evening for two nights to fit a 36 foot RV. The woman on the phone said they had 1 available and I put half down to hold the spot. Once we arrived, I was little concerned if we were going to fit because the whole resort is very tight and there was no signs where to go, so here we are with a 36 foot RV sitting in the middle of the parking lot with a car dolly attached to our RV. We checked in with an older woman and I decided to walk up to the spot to see what would be the easiest way to get to our spot. We had spot 1, right next to the hotel. When we got to our site, there were two cars parking in our spot. I walked back to the office and let the older woman know that we couldn't get into the site because two cars were parked in our spot. She just stood there, a woman at the bar said she would help me and find the owners of the car to have it moved immediately. While walking up to our site, I found out that the company she worked for had just purchased the resort and was working on improving the resort, this is why I had a hard time deciding one or two stars because she was so nice, friendly, and helpful! If she was not there, I would of given the resort a 1 star, to be honest. Anyways, she found the owners of the vehicles, which gave her attitude when she asked them to move, but she did get them move and made sure we were able to get the RV into the spot. There was a baseball team that had rented out the hotel and another cabin, I believe it was call paradise cabin? If they were not there, our stay would of gone a lot better! We decided to go for a walk on Friday evening to check out the resort and during our walk, another vehicle of theirs (a black kia SUV with a younger male driving) almost hit us because he had to be going over 15 mph from the paradise cabin to motel. On Saturday evening when we returned from our outings, we found the exact same vehicle that had been parked in our spot the day before, RIGHT next to our RV and we couldn't even open our slide! So, I had to go to the office AGAIN and tell someone that they needed to move their car AGAIN! The staff worker found the owner again and she came and knocked on our door and told us they would be moving the car shortly. During that time we decided to go into town for dinner. When we returned, ANOTHER car was parked RIGHT next to our RV. So, I had to go AGAIN down to the office and the staff worker went and found the owner of that vehicle to have them move so we could get our slide out, which we did immediately after the car was moved! Sunday, we had no problems getting out because by the time we left everyone from the motel had already left. I feel there needs to be more signs! Especially on the site we were at! The motel parking takes over that site completely. I think the baseball team should of been talked because they made other customers stay not so enjoyable! it is true like the other reviews on Google say, the resort does not have a game room, playground, sauna, pretty much everything they post they say that have, they don't currently. That really didn't bother us because we weren't on the resort much, but to sleep. I really hope that the new company does improve this place because it is in a wonderful location and could be a really nice resort if they put the time and...
Read moreI stayed in the narrows 2 cabin. I'm giving Silver Rapid Lodge five stars, however, you'll want to bring some items to make this enjoyable. Read the reviews before booking and know what to expect.
The cabin is old but clean. This is a rustic cabin experience located on a small waterway between two lakes. The cabin is next to a lightly used road and therefore traffic noise won't be an issue. Heating and air conditioning are provided in the form of an old box fan and a small space heater. During my stay the outside temperature fell to 36°F two nights in a row. The cabin was chilly but not freezing cold. The bed was as expected but I brought a mattress topper, 20°F rated sleeping bag, and pillows.
The bedrooms don't have electrical outlets. There are two outlets that I could find. One in the kitchen and one in the living room. Plan for that.
Bring food and charcoal if you want to grill. Or buy it in Ely when you get here. There's a gas oven that works great, a full size fridge with internal freezer, microwave and toaster. They provide utensils including a cutting knife, spatulas, wine opener, lots of forks and spoons. There is a bar and restaurant located a few steps away. I didn't stop in during my visit but they have burger and pizza items.
The hot water lasted a full shower and plenty of pressure. The water doesn't stink which I appreciated. The place was very quiet. Great location and views. You're a short twenty minute drive from two State Parks. You can walk five feet to the water and fish or put in a canoe. I saw there are side-by-side rentals and a canoe outfitter across the road. I didn't use either however.
Come here knowing what to expect and this will be a great experience. Also, the cabins were listed at a great price. I would...
