I came to Portland/Falmouth for a friend's wedding. Summer hotel rates were ridiculously high so I looked for other options, and came across Quaker Tavern B&B on TripAdvisor. Donna was helpful and responsive with my pre-booking questions by email, and I got a great vibe from her through our communications. I booked for myself and a friend, and a little later another two friends booked for themselves for the same wedding so the four of us basically had the whole house to ourselves. The house was easy to get to from the airport in our rental car, and there was even a sign out front with our names on it to welcome us. Donna was attentive and such a delight to talk to. She also respected our privacy and made us feel independent in the home, which was great since I don't like hosts who are too attentive to the point where they don't leave you alone. She accommodated our wake up times and preferences for breakfast, which was mostly homemade and delicious! We left the house feeling full every day. She also gave great travel tips for the area. I highly recommend this place for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Portland and also avoid the high hotel prices. Maine has a lot to see and this is a great base to have...

Her biggest rule is relax and let her know what she can do to make sure your stay is a welcomed memory.||||The bed I slept in was period correct, the type with a intertwined rope frame and a mattress that was so comforting and relaxing that the only thing that woke me up was knowing Donna's breakfast was cooking. All of the room's decor and furniture were period correct.||||The breakfast was phenomenal, all natural, and well presented. Donna went out of her way to prepare a special breakfast treat for me, just one more nuance that to the period type hospitality expected of a 1800's innkeeper. ||||Relax in the front room reading about the Quakers of Falmouth, the inn, and about Donna's colorful life.||||This is only the second B&B I have every stayed at, and this Quaker Tavern B&B provided me the relaxation, comfort, and calming atmosphere I needed. ...
