It is hard to describe this campground. If you are looking for luxury.... this is NOT it. If you want a campground with large, level, clean campsites and lots of activities...this is as good as it gets.
First thing you will likely notice when you drive in is that it seems old and dated. However as I walked around and used the attractions everything was working. If you can see through all that, you may appreciate a charming style to it all .... kitchy. It is the site of an old race track which adds to the uniqueness.
I did not use the pool or bathhouse, but they seemed to be the most modern.
The campround sites themselves were among the finest I have ever stayed at. I stayed in a Water and Electric site. So flat I didn't need to do any leveling of my rig. Electric was 30 amp. It was well groomed grass, with some mid-size trees. The perimeter of the campground has large groves of trees. It was quiet and people were friendly. The only downside was there is no Wi-Fi available. I have Verizon and the connection was spotty.
They have evening entertainment on some weekends. On the Saturday night we were there there was a 3 person band that played a range of 70''s and 80's. Very fun. It is BYOB. It is right on the state trail and you can walk into Morristown.
The staff is awesome. The family that runs it is very hands on and works hard to keep things running well. Almost felt like I stopped in to visit some relatives.
Overall I am giving my experience a 9/10 (lost one point because no internet). I am giving the facility 4/5 because the facilities really need some updating to feel completely comfortable. (My recommendation to the owners is to start with updating the mini-golf and the basketball backboard).
I definitely will stay...
Read moreCamp Maiden Rock West was a truly amazing experience. We were originally attracted to the location for the disc golf, but it has SO much more to offer! We camped for 3 days and brought our families with us. There is so much to do there. Swimming, mini golf, biking, disc golf, volleyball, parks, camping... the list goes on and on. Randy, Sue and Derek are also genuine and kind people. They truly make you feel at home while you're there. My family and I as well as my disc golf group will certainly be coming back time and time again. Randy even just added a driving range game to the property that is EXTREMELY fun!...
Read moreCamp Maiden Rock West is a small family-owned campground. We have been coming here for 2 years and we enjoy it very much! The campground is well cared for and all facilities are in good order. The owners are very friendly, and as long as you behave you will have no problems. RV sites are large and easy to access. It's September 4th and we are the only campers here at this time. There are a lot of things to do if you have children or teens such as a pool, a disc golf course, playground, miniature golf and even some goats. If you're from the area or coming in from out of town, I highly suggest you stop in for a...
