This campground is designed for seasonal campers. Im not sure why they even have 1 spot for weekenders to come. The 1 site designated for a weekender is horrible. No room for kids to play in the site. Most of the site consists of rotting wood which provides a tripping hazard. Upon booking, I asked if our camper would fit. They said yes. In my opinion, it did not fit. Even if we weren't an ice castle and had a regular camper trailer, there would have been no way to stabilize the back end as it was a down hill slope and grass, after we had gotten lots of rain. When expressing my concerns for the site being a fall hazard with where our door was, the response was put concrete blocks there. No room to sit around the fire pit without tripping over our and the neighbors water hose that was in the middle of the site. Let me be clear, it was the rotting wood and trip hazards that where all over the site that where the huge problem. We would have left had we not had family staying in the cabins. The cost of this site was too much for what you got. We...
Read moreThey must have gotten a new cook since the last time we were there. We used to go here as a family ever since I was little. We moved out of town and decided to come back for a visit and the food was lacking. We ordered a chicken sandwich and got one chicken tender between two buns which we were able to compare with someone else at the table that ordered the chicken tender platter and they were hardly breaded. Same chicken. For being "world famous" they could have been better. I've always gotten the apple crisp dessert at the end of my meal and even that was a disappointment. It came out in a bowl that looked like everything was put in the microwave. Another downfall was the loud music coming from the kitchen. It almost sounded like somebody was throwing a quinceanera back there. Appetizers were great but all they had to do is put them in a deep fryer as we ordered wontons and cheese curds. We'll be back but hopefully the food's...
Read moreI recently stayed there while attending a high school reunion. The cabins are rustic and comfortable & the view of the lake is outstanding. We had a lakeside cabin. wonderful location out I must say in the middle of nowhere. But that was part of the charm. It is a combination rental cabin and RV campsite. We stayed in one of the cabins and the accommodations were quite satisfactory. There is a restaurant bar combo on site that served excellent farm fresh wonderfully prepared meals at very reasonable prices. I must make it a point to give a shout out to the service I received from everyone I encountered including the owner Pam. These people made you feel welcome. That kind of stuff makes a difference when people are truly just being nice. I would definitely recommend it and I would definitely stay there again if I'm ever in that part of...
