Amazing full day trip on the Upper and Lower New River! Mia is the BEST guide! I have rafted with ACE 5 times before trying WVA and loved the personal attention and more guidance we received from WVA. We did the upper in duckies (not advertised on their site but I highly recommend for the Upper). Mia told us how to go based upon our level of enjoyment and how to hit Surprise to get maximum impact but to still stay in your boat- and this is the first time I crushed it. (I did scream a bit when I crested and dropped down into the hole and saw the wall of water- shocks me everytime but what an adrenaline hit). All of our family stayed afloat!! (With ACE all of us swam every year and did not get much instruction other than hit surprise if you want to swim). It felt great to finally achieve success on that big hit. Did an express trip same day on the Lower New and seeing the new in the golden light was breathtaking- not to mention the big hits. I did the Lower New with WVA in the morning in the spring at higher water level and it is amazing how different the river is with the different river levels. Mia said each day is different, new and fun and I would agree- different parts were more of a hit then they were in the spring and all was amazing! Thanks for an unforgettable time. 5 star review from us all!

If you’re a national park lover, this is the tour for you! Have you ever felt like a company is just trying to get your money, or upsell you on other outings? You will not get that with West Virginia Adventures. They offer only rafting trips and the do it very well. The guides and drivers are all very experienced and you can tell everyone is here for the love of the river and the surrounding nature. We had a wonderful and peaceful paddle on the upper New River with Croc, he is very experienced and knows this river better than most, I’m sure. He pointed out nature and wildlife to us, and described the river in such a poetic way, you can tell he knows what he is doing, and he loves it. We will definitely choose West Virginia Adventures for future rafting trips. Their small size, attention to details, and chill vibe all made for an amazing experience.

We have been rafting with West Virginia Adventures once or twice a summer since 2020, and we absolutely love this company! We bring a group of about 50 people, ages 5 or 6 to mid 40s, and Rob does a great job taking care of our group. The Upper New River trip is a favorite for all of our younger kids. And my husband loves a great Lower or Upper Gauley trip with his buddies in the fall. We have had many guides over the years, but Nathan is our absolute favorite guide! We love love love going white water rafting with West Virginia Adventures. This past weekend, we had Nathan, Mia, Christen, and Eli as our guides, and they were so amazing with our kids. Keep up the great job guys!

A phenomenal experience from beginning to end. The staff and guides were helpful, friendly, informative, funny, and safe. When my trip had a bit of chaos with people being unable to go and a somewhat last minute re-schedule, they reassured me and took care of me. As for the trip itself, me and my friends did the New River Lower in October. Water levels were a bit lower (1.5ft), but we still got mostly class II and maybe like one class III. The guides did just about everything possible to make it so you didnt fall out, even when things got just a lil bumpy. Guides were clearly well prepared amd trained for just about every scenario even in the 1/10000 chance of something really going wrong. I always felt safe and secure without taking away from any of the adrenaline-rushing excitement of it all! Our total larger group for the day was split into 3 larger boats and a few smaller ones, with staff on standby in kayaks as well. Because of it being smaller, we could much more easily set our own pace and keep together, unlike some of the other groups we saw that day in flotillas of rafts. For food and drink, they always had water available and other beverages were there for us for a refreshing reward on the ride back to the HQ. Lunch was a sandwich for everyone with Condiments and plenty of other side snacks. They do say they accommodate to you if you have any restrictions, but we didn't have anyone that needed that. They did make sure that everyone had what they needed at all times. If you are going whitewater rafting, pick this group. They know what theyre doing, theyre professional, responsible, and affordable. I WILL be going back to them again next year. Samuel was an amazing guide. I can easily...

I booked this trip through Groupon and was a bit leery about it because it is not a widely recognized company compared to the bigger companies. I’ll give the negatives 1st - all things that the company can (and should) be able to easily rectify… The address in Google maps is not the correct address…use the address listed on the website. There is a lack of FAQ type information on the website or it wasn’t easy to find. Info about what to wear and other basic information would be helpful. There is no signage at the location where you meet. Now the good stuff…the staff were all extremely friendly and passionate about their work. We were fortunate to have Crock as our guide. He is clearly very knowledgeable about the river and rafting and set my anxiety levels at ease. When we told him a member of our group had a bad shoulder, he took oars along to assure that we wouldn’t have any issues. The trip was a mix of relaxation in calm waters and exhilarating rapids! This was our 2nd time rafting (first for one member) and it was a blast! One definite reason to go with this company is that you will be in a smaller group and get more personalized attention. Other than Crock, we were the only ones in our raft. Looking forward to seeing our video. Love the few pictures we already got. Shout out to the bus driver too… that...
