Grandview Motel LLC — Hotel in Ferryville

LOUD train, ALL night long.

The owner of Grandview seems like a lovely person. But as for the motel... well, I didn't get a single bit of sleep the entire night long, because every hour or so, another train went by extremely loudly. It kept me awake the whole night, and by morning, I felt miserable. SO I'm writing this review as a warning to anyone who is even slightly sensitive to loud noises like trains. The train tracks are very close to the motel and trains run on it constantly at night, about once an hour, lasting 5-20 minutes each time.

Since my main purpose of staying here was for a place to sleep, and I got zero sleep, I couldn't rate anything higher than one star. If you're someone who can sleep through a lot of noise, then you might enjoy this motel. If not? You can't say I...

The Grandview Motel is a quaint little outpost of traditional American hospitality, with 9 custom rooms available, all right on the Mississippi riverfront! The proprietress Donna is a creative and vibrant host and we had a lovely time chatting with her about her hobbies, family, property history, etc. She and her husband live right next to the property, and all you need to do is ring the bell (during working hours) and she comes out to help or answer questions.

If you are sick of staying in cookie-cutter, 5-star luxury rooms, and crave something homier and cozier, put your money on this Motel. Great views of the river, the foliage, the train passing right in front of you, between the road and the river, all adding up to an unforgettable experience. The prices are reasonable too!

We rented the Shore View 4 br house, owned and run by the motel| It was immaculate, the beds were so comfortable and it had all the stocked kitchen tools, towels, etc. you would want. The screened porch makes this house. If you like the trains and the river, it doesnt get any better. It is decorated so cutely with comfortable furniture and lighting. There is a flight of stairs to get to the door and 3 of the 4 beds are on the 2nd floor so if stairs are an issue, this is not for you. The yard is very limited and not fenced, but, cutely decorated with a grill area. Also, little ones do not have outside space here, and the stairs might be a safety issue. Trains go by regularly so pick a room in the back of the house if that is an issue for you. We will definitely seek this...
