Great spot to come and make the trip what you want. Want to be social, this place has a great community of long time visitors and seasonal campers, all friendly and welcoming. It’s a great place to make friends. Want to get away with your partner for some clothing optional laid back camping for the nature, you can do that too. My partner and I visit here a few times a year and gotta say it’s at the top of our list with the cleanest facilities, beautiful spaces and nature. This place is a GEM! Maybe with one more review suggesting a HOT TUB or liquor license will speak it into existence. Build it and they will come ;)
The following RANT goes for all the gay campsites(5/6) I have visited. I love lights around the campsites! It’s always been a part of camping even as a child growing up to have the ambience of Christmas lights around each site. But they NEVER go off, at any place. For safety sure that’s fine. Some places are worse than others for creeps (Sawmill FL) where they pollute bright blue flood lights all through the tent area for safety measures. However, the beaming Disco ball/laser/strobe lights lighting up your tent from dusk till dawn is overkill. Especially for those who watch the night sky. A 3/4am auto off time for the lights that laser or beam through the entire place would make it feel more like camping and sleeping outside without continuous flashing lights. Even alone in the dark corner of primitive.
Last rant.. It’s common for 1 in every 3 gay men to bring their dogs camping with them. Not sure why, but to each their own. That should be fine right? Good owner, good dog? Like clockwork tho, almost as soon as the sun rises the dogs will at some point bark continuously for multiple minutes. With no owner to respond or acknowledge it somehow?!? Warranting my “get your #*%¥ dog” yell from my pillow. Not the nature I want to wake up to. Please for the love of gays if you leave your dog in a tent while you go catch trade, FIND A SITTER or stay home. Think about your Neigbor’s and how annoying your dogs bark over and over and over again can be for someone who doesn’t have one. Get a zapper or a news paper or just pay attention. END RANT. Hope the last part reaches the...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to camp in a place where both the amenities and the staff make you feel like royalty, look no further than Freedom Valley Campgrounds in New London, Ohio. This place is the Ritz-Carlton of campgrounds, the crème de la crème of camping spots, the Disneyland of the great outdoors!
First off, let’s talk about the amenities. Need a hot shower after a day of walking? Done. Looking for a sparkling clean pool to cool off? You got it. Fancy a game of 🃏 or frisbee? They’ve got that too. There’s even Wi-Fi, so you can post all your envy-inducing nature photos on social media while still in your hammock. Honestly, I half-expected to find a butler waiting at our campsite with a tray of s'mores. The facilities are so excellent, I briefly considered selling my house and moving in full-time.
The staff at Freedom Valley are like the camp counselors you always dreamed of: friendly, fun, and full of helpful tips. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and big smiles. They made us feel like we were part of a giant, happy camping family. They even laughed at my hubby’s jokes, which is no small feat.
Now, let’s talk about the vibe. It’s like a friendly neighborhood block party meets serene nature retreat. During the day, you can enjoy peaceful walking and lazy pool floats. By night, it’s all about campfires, sing-alongs, and maybe even a spontaneous dance-off (I’m not saying I won, but I’m not saying I didn’t). It’s the kind of place where you can make friends with your camping neighbors over a game of cornhole and swap ghost stories until the wee hours.
In short, Freedom Valley Campgrounds is a little slice of camping heaven. Whether you’re a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or just looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this place has something for everyone. And who knows? You might just find yourself extending your stay… or, like me, contemplating a permanent move.
So pack your bags, load up the car, and get ready for a camping experience that’s equal parts luxury and laughter. Freedom Valley Campgrounds, you’ve earned yourself a...
Read moreThis is going to be a long review, I'm just preparing you now. This is my 2nd season at camp. Freedom Valley holds a very, very special place in my heart. I've never felt more welcomed anywhere in my life than I have been made to feel at Freedom Valley. I was extremely skeptical at first as any new camper would be. I'm not the camping type either, like camping for me was staying at a lower scale hotel. The start of your experience begins when you check in and are greeted by Michael or Jeff. 2 of the nicest, helpful and greatest guys, they also happen to be the owners of the camp. Michael answered every single question I had (and there was a lot). I never felt rushed or that I was asking a question he probably heard 1,000's of times. We stayed down in the Valley (several times now) where there are many accommodations. Electric, showers, water and restrooms. All are impeccably clean, and that's being said by a germaphobe. The atmosphere is truly a vacation/oasis. The landscaping is beautiful. Really, you need to see it for yourself. That's not even the best part. The people/seasonals/campers are. My husband and I have met some of the greatest people/friends/family here at Freedom Valley. Anyone and everyone is willing to lend a hand or ear. Not once have we had a bad experience or had a terrible time. Hell, even when it rains, it's still better than being at your 9 to 5. The pool is heavenly and right beyond it is "Buckeye BBQ". Eric makes food so good that you'll spend more money eating there than you would on a week's worth of groceries. I'm serious. 5 star food at affordable prices. Try the bleu cheese burger and the fries (oh those delicious fries). You won't be sorry or feel anything less than FULL! The camp as a whole is picture perfect, it will be your home away from home. Plus it's where men camp. Can't beat...
