I'm not sure if I did a review yet but it can't hurt to do another for a place and an experience that came into my life just from driving on the Mohawk trail, coming around a corner and there...on a big hill one of the cutest motels I've ever seen!,( I actually sacrificed a night at a hotel in Deerfield just because this was stunning and one of those things that you can't walk away from!!!)) I saw a woman that was helping a guest and smiling. When you are not adjust they do not encourage anyone else to come on the property, because it truly is so peaceful and the view is unimaginably gorgeous, and they want to keep everything safe and peaceful... and my word was it ever! I went into the office which is also the cutest little gift shop with sundries you might need, and I asked what the rate was for that particular night. Remember this is during the gorgeous Chloe and see them and I expected it to be over $300 a night but it was $160! This is a boutique hotel that is run by people who truly care about it, and truly care about the guests that are in it. I watched a wedding service on the lawn as the sunset and said a little prayer for the couple, and it was something that brings tears to your eyes. I originally booked one night but extended my stay and All along The Mohawk trail are these sometimes strange but historic sites and I love photography, so this was a perfect setting. There are all types of hiking trails and activities.... And things like top of the world where you're standing on the mountain looking out into a valley with mountains behind it, as well as a great gift shop,! I think the best thing was this wasn't a tourist trap nor was any of the Mohawk trail that I drove on. I'm taking my best friend's there for her birthday in a couple weeks, and I almost don't want to brag about the low rates because then someone might get a room I want LOL I wish I could remember the woman that helped me with every single thing I could possibly need or want. They even have robes! The TV has Wi-Fi Hulu and you can stream. Plenty of outlets, great refrigerator size with microwave and toiletries, )coffee tea etc but also in the office in the morning too) I cried when I drove away LOL This motel will not disappoint and where I getting married I would choose this in a heartbeat! 💗 I would probably rent out just the scenery for wedding pictures! I cannot say enough about this place and I do reviews based on handicap accessibility and they even have that!!! My friend is mobility impaired but I am not worried one bit about her ease of going from the car to the hotel room and even if she isn't up to driving around or seeing the sights she will just love waking up to a big mountain range in front of her without even moving!!!! I thought that I would be stuck in traffic since it was a weekday and I left at about 6:00 a.m. to go to Boston and it was only 1 hour and 40 minutes door to door!!! Even leaving the motel you're going back down the Mohawk trail so watching the sunrise is also something that would make it hard to deny there is a God! I have never ever given a perfect review and I've given a couple hundred. This motel deserves it and then some. This would also be a great spot if you're going skiing and you don't want to pay exorbitant pricesyou are also right near Saratoga New York and Vermont as well! In general I will say that everything IN that area seems to be 30 years behind.... The people are so kind, there is a supermarket Big y only 15 minutes away ( in North Adams and Williamstown are the most beautiful of the entire area) I actually ordered takeout from a local restaurant and it's funny because I go to Cape Cod to a resort twice a year and I haven't had seafood like this in a long time and only $20 for an entire plate of haddock! I will now be quiet but I could be a poster child for this motel. Can't...
Read moreI stumbled upon this place during a Google search, trying to find a place in the Berkshires near North Adams/Adams to visit some friends out there. Normally I would stay away from anyplace that said "motor lodge", but the website looked fantastic so I decided to give it a try....thank god I did! It's TRULY amazing!!! The views are incredible, the rooms are very modern, updated, comfortable (very soft mattress), and extremely clean/spotless, come with mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. (all also spotlessly clean!). We stayed in a King Suite, which has a separate living room, which was huge and had large picture windows facing the view. Which is truly blue!!! And green sometimes! And milky white!!! Ever changing!!! The view is to die for!!!! The hot tub is extremely clean, the firepits are warm and mesmerizing, the hammocks are comfy and relaxing, the staff is incredibly welcoming, friendly, kind...they do anything they can to ensure you have a great stay...which we did...This is where you go to RELAX and be peaceful, not to party (they have a 10 p.m. quiet time rule, which I think is great). There is no restaurant on the premises, which I also like, but they have a fantastic little gift shop with snacks and croissants and drinks. And, there are several nearby places to eat (I highly recommend the Wigwam for breakfast, and the Golden Eagle for lunch and/or dinner). (We also went on a hike with the Tye-Dye Guide, Jeff, up Mt. Greylock, and he was fantastic!) Honestly, in all my years of traveling and staying at Inns and Resorts at the Berks, The Blue Vista by far is the best place. So I'm trying hard to find a negative...ummm...ok, fine: Because you are on top of Whitcomb Summit, the highest most beautiful peak on the Mohawk Trail, it can get cold and/or humid at night and in the morning, and it can get foggy/misty. So enjoy all that mother nature has to offer and bring warm clothes!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK I'VE BEEN HOME 1 DAY AND I'M GETTING STRESSED AGAIN!!! LOL HAVE FUN!! PS...The wifi and TV work great, but you may be surprised how little you...
Read moreThe first thing we noticed was the gorgeous view; the setting is spectacular. Front desk staff were gracious and helpful.||Our double queen room was very large with plenty of surface, shelf, and drawer space. Beautiful dark wood furniture; furnishings all beautifully designed -- I would have taken the lamps home with me if I could; nice carpet and paneling on walls. Both gauze and heavy curtains very easy to manage and arrange if you want the windows open. Electronics hub on night table was appreciated; there should be an additional one at the desk. We had to go on hands and knees to plug in laptop at desk. Beds are comfortable; extra blankets and pillows on top shelf. Bright bathroom with some surface space at sink and more below it. Decent shower; high end amenities.||However, the bathroom heater didn’t work. The front desk person acknowledged that they were problematic. It would have been good to be offered a space heater. And they should just replace them because that place is cold. ||With all the care they took to make the room look and feel upscale, I can't figure out why they don't have ceramic coffee cups and glass beverage glasses. Plastic and cardboard beverage is one thing hat separates upscale from all the rest.||A 10-minute drive to North Adams with some nice restaurants. Wigwam Western Summit a couple miles on the way for coffee and cool souvenirs.||Drawbacks: No food on site, except for snacks; chair at desk is downright uncomfortable, it’s not a desk chair, not the right height or design. A standard motel set-up where people walk right by your windows: limited privacy if you like your windows open/ curtains drawn for light and/or view.||In sum: a somewhat upscale-ish experience in a gorgeous setting with...
