FYI!!! This is for you! Came here to fish early one morning in July, 2018. It was a Monday and my car was the only one in the lot. A cleanup guy had already come and gone. Several bikers and joggers also came through. About 9:30 two vehicles came in together. A van and old grey compact sedan. They boxed my car in with the van facing my direction so I couldn't see my car. At the time they couldn't see me from where I was fishing. My car was on the far side of the lot from me at one end with one space open between my car and that end. The whole rest of the lot was there with tons of room away from my car, but they sandwiched mine in. I mean who does that and why unless they're up to something? I grabbed my gear and headed there as fast as I could before they really had time to do whatever it was they were planning. Three Hispanic males got out of the van and two out the grey car. I'm a fairly big guy and came up on them quick. Opened my car, put my gear in and started to get in the driver's side. All the while I'm looking at them and they at me. A couple of them started asking me about fishing in very poor English. As in no hablar English. I just started up and left, but have since decided to have protection with me every time I come to Grapevine, any park, to fish. This story ended up okay, but it could easily have been different. Hope this helps someone else remember to be aware of their surroundings on Grapevine at times like this. Doesn't affect my rating for the park. This could happen, and does, anywhere and anytime. If this review helped you, how about a...

North Shore Trail runs for 9.5 miles from the south end in Rockledge Park all the way up to Murrell Park and Twin Coves Park. Twin Coves Marina is also located within the park and is a great marina if you’d like to store or service your boat in Flower Mound. There is a very nice two lane boat ramp in Murrell Park. There is not a boat dock at this ramp. Some of the best bank fishing you can find on Lake Grapevine is within this park. There are several designated fishing trails that lead to banks, cliffs, and other fishing areas where you can catch fish. We absolutely love fishing in this park or the nearby...
Read moreAs a portrait photographer, this is one of my favorite parks especially for senior and family sessions. There are so many areas to explore, camp and take photos at that you can find a new area every time you visit.
There are plenty of campsites and areas to 'picnic' at both near campsites and independent of them. There are a couple of small areas with a sandy 'beach' to make it easy to get into the water for kids.
For those wanting to fish or just relax without the splashing, the rock ledges along the water in several areas are the perfect spot. There are areas along the ledges that you can get in the water, but not too far which also allows you an area for a fire when allowed.
It's an extremely popular spot for photographers as well. You could take all of your clients there and almost never have to shoot in the same location....even though most do. Depending on the time of year, the grasses/flowers are gorgeous and the sunset over the lake is amazing.
Like most lakes in Texas, Grapevine Lake is no different. It will rise easily during storms and rainy season which will cause access to some areas impossible so make sure to check the website online first. They do also close areas...
