We booked a peaceful weekend at Twin Coves Park in Flower Mound with the intention of relaxing, swimming, and enjoying time with our family. Instead, we were harassed, profiled, and repeatedly targeted — not just by staff, but by a neighboring white couple who filed multiple false complaints against us.

On night one, we were reported for having a light on while playing corn hole. The next morning — at 11:25 AM — we were reported again because the kids were tossing a football in an open street. We respectfully moved out of the way for every car and pedestrian, yet somehow that was “a problem.”

Then came a noise complaint, despite the fact that we were not loud — just talking, laughing, and enjoying family time. This wasn’t about volume. It was about discomfort with who we are.

Our group had multiple cabins and tents booked, yet the park manager continuously questioned us about where everyone was staying. At one point, we were even asked if we could “move our family somewhere else,” despite being fully paid guests. That crossed the line.

The couple next to us — a man and woman — clearly didn’t want us near them and made it obvious through repeated, unnecessary complaints. And instead of de-escalating the situation, the staff fed into it by treating us like the issue.

This experience was racially coded from beginning to end. We stayed calm and respectful the entire time. But the treatment we received made one thing clear: if you’re Black, Brown, or visibly different from the “usual” crowd, expect to be questioned, policed, and treated like you don’t belong.

Twin Coves Park looks inviting online, but the culture is quietly biased. Don’t let the scenic location fool you — this is not a welcoming space for all families.

Attaching a photo of our cabin so park management knows exactly who left this review. This isn’t slander — this is the truth. And it needs to be said.

Cabin 9 complaints . Weekend June...

Very nice park. I believe it is owned by the city of Flower Mound. Lake was beautiful while we were there had a really nice breeze coming off the water so even though it was 90 plus degrees outside it didn't feel too bad with the breeze coming off the water. Maybe my own one small and I do mean small negative about the park was the mud daubers that kept getting in the RV. The good thing about them is they don't sting humans unless you provoke them to and we would just open our door and shoe them back outside. All part of nature. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay facing the water on a nice level concrete back in sight no problems with water electric or sewer and you're far enough apart from your neighbors that you really don't even know they're there other than seeing them. We did not take part in any of the amenities at the park but we did see very nice playground cornhole, horseshoes, and apparently there are walking trails in the area also. If we're ever in the area we will return. Oh and the park is pet friendly as long as you do what you're supposed to do...

We spent 4 nights here at Thanksgiving while visiting family. We had reserved 3 nights and been wait listed for Thanksgiving Day. We were able to stay that 4th night moving sites. The park is immaculate. The roads and sites were paved and in good condition. The services at the site were well placed. All sites had full hookups and the water pressure was good. We were in Site 12. This site shared a driveway with the neighboring site, but was easy to back into. It overlooked the cove. Each site had a fire pit, a picnic table, a BBQ, and a lantern hook. Although the sites were closely spaced in places, your area seemed private. There was a camp store which had firewood and kayak and paddle board rentals. We moved to Site 7, again a back in. This was a difficult site to back in with a 30’ travel trailer. It was difficult to make the turn on the truck side with a large culvert/ditch across from the site and required backing in at and sharp angle and then straightening once in. Both sites were east to level. We did not access any of the outdoor activities given the...

As hiking became our new, favorite outdoor activity, we now hike every sunday afternoon exploring new hiking trails. This is our first time hiking here. The parking is $10 per vehicle to park closer to the hiking trails. But they do have small, free parking just before the pay station, from there you need to walk down that road for 10-15 minutes to the hiking starting point. They have nice, clean and well maintained restrooms next to camping cabins. Great hiking trails. We didn't make all the way to the ending point, buy still enjoyed our hiking halfway and back. This hiking trail gave us a feeling like we were hiking in the jugle. Beautiful, peaceful and enjoyable trails. This location has other different trails follows along the main trail in different directions, we even got lost on our way hiking back. There were other hiking people who helped us out. We noticed that it gets more jamed around 2pm and a little after. We didn't see any wild animals, but did see lots of grass hoppers. Definitely we'll come hike here again.
