Our family changed plans to this charming resort at the last minute. I'm overjoyed that we did and that Walt was willing to accommodate us. We knew 3 bedrooms would work so much nicer for our family. Our 15 yo daughter was much happier to have a separate bedroom rather than stay in a hotel room with 2 queens. This cabin has absolutely everything! The bed in the master bedroom is amazing. The other two full size beds have a softer and the other is a firmer mattress and all are very nice. The kitchen has everything ready for you to add your groceries and make amazing meals or snacks. We needed a very late check-in due to driving such a long time that evening and Walt made sure we knew how to arrive. He greeted us personally with Steven and chatted a bit, making us feel like family quickly. When we walked in so very ready for bed we were greeted by a fire in the electric fireplace and quiet calming music from the TV with swimming fish Screensaver. It was beautiful. The shower is nice and the water is hot. The kitchen has a table with 5 chairs. And a breakfast bar with 3 taller stools. While everything is wonderful the best feature of the whole place are Walt and Steven. They are both warm and inviting people. They are so helpful. I so enjoyed talking with Walt. He is a beautiful soul. The peacefulness at St. Michaels Lakeside Resort is purposeful and special. I'm hoping we plan another trip to this area and stay right here again. Thank you Walt and Steven. You are both salt of the earth and sweet souls.

When I think of this place, peaceful, retreat, nature, come to mind. The power of this Great Lake is evident in seeing the shoreline change over the years, in the rise and fall of the beautiful cedars that share the space, provide shade, and lull you to sleep as the lake breeze blows through the branches. As you can tell, I like this place and it's been a secret retreat/hideaway for me for a few decades now. The host, Walt,, pays much attention to detail and a conversation with him is as compelling and warm as the cabins are. He and his helper provide excellent service, but I have come to look forward to my visits with them as much as the time away from my routine and the relaxation of cabin life. There's connectivity (wifi) and TV there if you want it, but I find that it's the perfect place to unplug.

These charming cabins are located right on the lake and hidden from the road because they are surrounded by trees. We just spent 9 days there in a cottage with the deck over looking the lake. You could here the waves at night. It is run by a charming soul named Walt who has been on the property for 72 years. His parents built the family home which is one of the small cottages near the main house today. Our family loves it here and the pace of life is so much slower than where we live. If you want a relaxing stay with water activities, BBQ, bonfires and more you should find...
