This is a very primitive campsite. I believe most of our issues were due to our misinterpretation of the pictures and descriptions. We stayed in campsite 8 and had very little privacy. We could hear every word of the conversation in the next campsite. Our vehicle had to be parked further in distance than the next site was. Water had to be collected about a block away and driven back to our site. No electricity anywhere. 20$ for a bundle of wood was double price of anywhere else (but was dry and great quality). Beautiful view at the outlook, which was near the showers and water pump (so not near our site). The showers were fantastic. We wanted to try the little spa (remember, primitive!), but it was 65$ for an hour (I can get a massage for that price). There was a porta john toilet near the outlook. I was super impressed with the communication from the host William and his openness and follow through to make improvements suggested in past reviews. If you are looking for a VERY primitive spot and some exercise, this place is it. I am a little bit of a princess and will be leaving a...
ย ย ย Read moreMy family and I camped here last weekend and it was a real nice stay. Some of the positives:
The location is good. There is a gas station within a few miles. There is an Ingles about 30 miles away. There is a Walmart about 20 minutes away.
The view from the overlook are awesome. We caught sunset there a couple of times and it was amazing.
There is clean water available for drinking.
Some negatives:
Just regular port-a-potties. There are decently clean but still.
The campsites are rather close to each other. We had nice folks next to us but we could still hear them pretty easily.
The neutral:
The washing station is decent and worked well.
Overall, it was a nice site. My wife did all the booking so I donโt know if it was a good value or not. They did allow us to book Saturday and Sunday night which was nice. I would come...
ย ย ย Read moreCozy, small enough to feel safe in. Lovely, clean outdoor showers with forest view. Campsites are set up in a loop, so our children were allowed HOURS of outdoor free play. Campsites have variety: campground for tent setup, small cabin, or tee-pee to accommodate different style of campers. We stayed our 1st time in a tee-pee because we drove 4 hours to this site, it was great if youโre traveling far. The downside (a silly complaint to be honest) were the stink bugs who enjoyed the tee-pee as much as we did :) Each site had a itโs own protected fire pit and giant jug of water to douse the fire (safe). Our tee-pee MTG4 was set on a downhill, facing the valley of the mountains, still a...
