Ok so before I write this review I want to lay two things on the table. One I was there to meet a friend who was out of town and we there to rendezvous for some fun just to put things in perspective and second the room rates are very budget friendly so taking that into account you do get what you pay for.
So I arrive at the hotel. I did not do the check in process since the room was reserved and checked in by my counterpart. I did get to interact with the front desk via phone and in person and both instances was very pleasant and professional. The room was booked for a total of three nights. The hotel occupancy was pretty low. I can honestly say during the stay there was never more than 8-10 cars in the parking lot. In the evening it was pretty quiet and it’s located in a pretty remote location. We arrived in the evening so really didn’t notice the room issues until the morning.
In the morning while trying to take a shower not only did the water remain lukewarm at best the tub must have been loaded with hair or something in the drain. I might as well had taken a bath as the water begin to pool around my ankles. It also drained very slow while I was there as well which made taken a shower for me and my partner hard since she would have to wait for the water to drain out and vice versa. Now I’m out the shower and I grab a towel and noticed that there is hair all over it. I mean folded up on the rack but hair, long strands of hair. I counted at least 5-6 long strands I pulled off. We had multiple towels so we just tossed those aside. Noticing these things I started checking the bed. I didn’t find any hair or anything but who’s to say right?
The room came with a microwave and fridge which was convenient as we grabbed snacks and wine and stuff of the sort. The microwave was pretty old and frankly decided not to use it or at least put something in it without a cover. Any left over food we brought back from any outing we put in the refrigerator immediately as I noticed when I would get up at night that there were roaches out and about.
The remote control either needed new batteries as was just broken all together. It worked half the time and we resorted to putting it on a channel we knew we could stand to watch considering we didn’t know when the controller was going to go out. I luckily had my labtop and hooked it up to the tv and gained access to Netflix once I got fed up enough and tired of watching the food network.
So in a nutshell I wouldn’t stay here again and recommend it for anybody unless your just one of those people who don’t mind just having a place to lay your head, is light on the pockets, or just having a quickie and need some place that provides a bed and even this place is a stretch and only tolerated it because well I didn’t pay for it. I would have checked out day 2 and got a swift refund and I’m not the type of person to complain. I just never go back again. Otherwise there’s other places to go. You can tell they definitely have attempted to remodel the by adding some newer furniture and decor but who needs a new lounge chair but literally can’t take a shower or have somebody’s hair all on you from the towels. Staff was...

This is by far the most AWFUL experience in a hotel I've had in years, especially with redroof.
. The room smelled like an ashtray, and there's nothing they will do to fix it, other than spray something that lasts 5 minutes. We even tried to let the room air out a bit, but didn't help any. Then requested to change the room because of my allergies to cigarette smoke and they denied us that due to having being in the room for over 50 minutes. Which is unheard of from ANY hotel I've ever been in under any circumstances.
. Their TVs only have one coaxial setting, you cannot plug any external devices through hdmi, usb, or rca. So you cannot use your xbox/ps5. An absolute deal breaker when you're staying extended, traveling with kids, or simply want to enjoy gaming or watching something other than coax tv on your time off here. We asked if they could use the original remote to change the input and said "they didn't do that here." Never had this problem on ANY hotel/motel before.
. They don't accept tap to pay, even though they have the device for it.
. The desk staff were not friendly nor helpful at all, especially one in particular that everyone seems to complain about in the reviews who's extremely rude.
. We took two small bags of trash and placed them outside for pick up before we left so the clean up staff didn't have to come in the room, and we got a call from the desk saying we couldn't leave anything outside on the hall, which, again, unheard of when you don't want to be disturbed by room service. Crazy how they care more about how the place looks outside, than the actual rooms.
. I didn't know "curtesy calls" for check out were still a thing an hour or two before check out. We know what time we have to check out and plan accordingly for it, any little bit of extra rest we can get is crucial when enjoying some time off.
Needless to say, this has been the most awful experience I've had in a hotel overall with staff that really do not care to help, but have all the time in the world to step out of the desk and chill in the car, or be an absolute nuisance about all the unimportant things. I will not be coming here ever again, and would recommend people to stay FAR...
Read moreCheck in went well after circling the area twice as the actual hotel address is not Moreland and a small sign in front of a boarded up run down business was our only reference. We finally figured out to turn up beside the sign and arrived with no issues. Adding that the location was great for the events of the weekend and we found lots down Moreland Ave. in the way of food, shops etc. Unfortunately, the front desk person was not aware of anything on Moreland and suggested we go to the Mall?? I asked for the 2nd floor since this was an open hotel, not enclosed. That was fine and we did do a set of steps to get to the room. The room however had no number on it so we had to try our key on several doors we thought might be the room, once inside, found clean and tidy room. Ice was all the way back at the office which I found very inconvenient as I consume lots of water and prefer it cold. Friday night after a delicious dinner at Fox Bros. BBQ, we settled in and were surprised how LOUD the Castaway Lounge was all the way over where our room was located. Additionally we observed a half dozen folks hanging out outside the lounge when we went for ice. I phoned the front desk and asked, is it possible we are actually hearing that bar? "Maybe" was the answer. How much longer, I was told it closed at 1:00 a.m. Ok, we went to bed and between the AC noise were able to have a peaceful night. Saturday, no issues, Saturday night, no Lounge blasting us. Sunday, checked out. You should be aware that this hotel IS IN the Flight pattern of many jets leaving Hartsfeild Airport. Be prepared for early jets noise and noise throughout the early evening. Also, apparently semi drivers live? here, idk, but those trucks powered up 6:30 am Saturday morning, waking us up. All in all, served...
