A Pacific Northwest Gem. Don’t Believe the Myths and gossip!!!!
I just got back from the most peaceful and gorgeous stay at this PNW campground, and I’m honestly surprised at some of the negative reviews floating around online, especially the ones calling the bathrooms “dirty.” Let me be clear: the bathrooms were as clean as you’d expect from a real campground. This isn’t a hotel lobby, it’s the outdoors, people! 🕷🦌 🍃 And if you arrive to find a bit of litter on the ground, it’s not the fault of the campground staff… it’s because some previous camper didn’t follow the CLEAR policy about keeping your spot clean. There are so many stunning types of sites here, from tent spots under old-growth trees to RV pull-ins with meadow views. Each site offers its own slice of nature, and it’s obvious that the owners care deeply about keeping this place beautiful and welcoming. Honestly, they should be charging the people who trash their spot. Y'all need to stop blaming the campground for the laziness or disrespect of others.
If you’re looking for a well-run, truly Pacific Northwest camping experience, this is it. Bring your sense of adventure, your love for nature, and a little respect for the land and others around you, and you’ll have an unforgettable stay. Just leave your spot as clean as you found it (or cleaner!), and help keep this gem shining for years to come. Come expecting to CAMP!! Not stay at a 5-star Hilton hotel. This place is cleaner than some of the motels in the area that charge double or triple their prices.
Come expecting the OUTDOORS!!!! No bathroom is going to be Perfect, but the staff does their best to actively maintain despite the hundreds of people who book each week from what the owners get excited about! If you're unhappy with the OUTDOOR bathrooms, go clean them yourselves. How about you try running a campground with almost 50 spots to maintain, not including cabins. If you want hotel perfection, good luck finding that in a 2 hour radius. This is the closest your going to get if you're “camping”.
Highly, highly...
Read moreThis is a very clean campground, pretty new also. Its just North of Forks after the bridge on Hwy 101- sits right on the hwy- pretty busy hwy, and can be kind of noisy. noise died down after 10pm. I was put in an RV spot near the hwy; I did not like this but i was not given an option..there were plenty of spots towards the back of the campground. I know this because I walked my dog before bed. it was still light out. I was car camping with my dog. I pulled in about 8pm before dark; the store/check in said OPEN, but no one was inside and locked up; said to call number on door, so I did. nice enough people; I am not sure where these people were- there was camper and a modular parked close together right behind the store.. anyway, i paid over the phone- $40 plus tax for a tent site. this seems pricey, considering its just a place to park my car overnight. and..that does not include a hot shower, that is $5. the bathrooms were single units with showers; kind of like a tiny home but one room. the bathrooms were clean enough except for water on floors, but there were rubber mats on the floor to keep from walking in water. the biggest complaint I have about these bathrooms is there was no where to put your things- there was one hook on the back of the door, no sink counter space, no bench for your clothes- if you put anything on the floor, it would get wet. the only to put things on was the toilet. there were some tiny shelves above the sink. I did not shower because there was no one available to turn on the hot water- i guess they turn it on only when you pay..this seems ridiculous- i wanted to wash my face before bed and could not use ANY hot water. same in the morning- i went to clean up before leaving about 8-830- the store was still closed. I could have called again but why should i have to do that? I also like to browse the gift shops too, but...i was not able to. Overall, not too...
Read moreLet me start with the bathroom situation. I fully recognize that this is camping and expectations should be low. Pit toilets are better in my opinion. There are three pods that have a private shower and toilet. We were told that they are cleaned twice a day. There is a bucket of cloudy water in each pod and two toilet brushes in it. I’m pretty sure that a toilet only needs one brush for cleaning and it makes me wonder what is the second brush for and why are they sharing a bucket? The floor is not level so water gathers in spots and it is covered in a rubber mat so you can walk over it and the stain on the flooring.
The showers themselves are $5 for hot water and I found the hot water to be pretty reliable. But it is only during their open hours of 7-7, if they are there. The outlet in them is not standard American so if you are trying to blow dry your hair or shave you’ll have to do it elsewhere.
Now if the flush toilets are all occupied with someone showering you can go to the tent sites where there are portable toilets. They are the kind with a sink inside and a foot pump to wash your hands. The one I went in had an overflowing sink filled with murky water. I did not check out the others.
The campground is nestled between 101 with what appears to be a logging road or some kind of road to get somewhere (there were large trucks driving through the middle of the campground).
The outer loop sites look a little nicer. The inside loop sites are not well defined so we had people walking through to get to the bathroom at all hours of the night. There might have been a path but it looked the same in the sea of gravel.
One step up from a gravel parking lot- there are trees mixed in.
The owners are very nice. Location is great for...
