I stayed here 7/21/23 to 7/23/23. This is my third time camping here and unfortunately my last the first two times were super enjoyable super relaxing. This most recent trip was a whole different experience. We arrived late around 10 PM and as we pulled up to look for our site, we were approached by a person in a golf cart asking us who we were with? The tone was suspicious, we replied, and then we found our way to our campsite. We let the gentleman know that we camped here before, and had excellent rapport with the previous camp host. We told him they were so cool that they provided us with a birthday cake for one of our members that weekend. He responded well you’re not gonna get any cakes from me. the next morning early morning, I could hear the zipping of this golf cart up and down the isles. Later that day we were enjoying some music before 10 PM which is quiet time it wasn’t loud. It was just loud enough for us. Here comes the golf cart again Dennis steps out and remind me that quiet time is at 10 PM. I asked him what time is it now it was only 6 PM. Couple hours later, he comes again, and asks to turn down my music. I turned it down, but did not appreciate his constant reminders. We are courteous people and friendly to all of our neighbors. The campgrounds here are inches away from each other. You will hear noise coming from your neighbor. You will smell them cooking. You will hear their dogs barking. You will hear them talking. You have to exercise some form of tolerance when you’re in this type of set up. I am totally fine with that. But Dennis had other ideas. I believe he was prison guard in a previous job. Because that’s how he was running this place. There were signs posted everywhere that if you caught your neighbor, not picking up after their dog you would be getting a free nights day. This is just toxic. After we left, the rules were updated. There are now 45 rules. Pretty ridiculous. I understand every campground has rules and they’re there for a reason. This place should rebrand itself the Albion prison camp, or the Albion church retreat. They lost...
Read moreFirst time visit with several friends 2019. Multiple RV's and trailers. None of us really knew what to expect. The "hard right" coming from the south exiting Highway 1 was tough, but the extreme switchback halfway down the side road to the campground was extreme. Had to back up our 30' RV plus trailer a bit to make the corner. Be advised. It's possible, but urge caution. the staff at the checkin area / store was friendly. This facility looks like it needs some significant repairs and TLC, however, the central restroom / shower area was clean. One central dump station. There are a few "full hook ups" along one row of camp areas, otherwise, the rest of the facility is water and electric only. Very poor water pressure. We eventually just switched to onboard water with our 12V supply pump, as it was much better. Overall, this is basically a "fishermans village". Several folks we met come here annually and stay months at a time just fishing and "hanging out". Great access to the ocean. Central fish cleaning station. Would recommend for folks that like "roughing it" a bit. Would recommend for the adventurous, but not for small children unless they are prepared for this kind of environment. The "firepits" are all "burn out" with no bottoms remaining. The benches are worn out as well. The "Store" has very minimal items. $4.75 for one 12 oz. bottle of beer. I suppose that is expected, but ..... There is absolutely no ATT coverage here. The free wireless internet is, um, well, poor at best. So, if you want to disconnect for a few days, this...
Read moreHorrable place to stay, management does not adhere to there own rules and caters to seasonal patrons with large groups. During our stay another camper became verbally assaultive and threatening after being asked to keep his dog on a leash on two seperate occasions, the dog charged aggressively (Fur standing up) from there campsite towards our dogs as we walked them on the road to the beach. The first time this happened we asked the owner to grab his dog and we continued our walk. The next day, it happened again, we asked him to follow the rules and keep his dog on a leash. We reported the incident to management, staff did a drive by but took no action. We returned to our campsite passing the group with the dog, my wife stated to the group that they were being disrespectful to the other campers by allowing there dog to run around without a leash, at which time the owner of the dog who was at his kyayak approximately 50 feet away aggressivly approached us telling us not to walk by his campsite and he was not going to put his dog on a leash. We immediatly reported the incident to management, while at the office the other camper came in with a weak appology, at which time management stated the dog policy while ignoring the fact he threatened us. Management made the call to allow him to stay, leaving us uncomfortable and unwanted at the resort so we left,...
