This, by far, was my favorite experience at a retreat. The staff was amazing! Each had brought their own special magic to the retreat. We did a deep dive into men's somatic emotional awareness to learn more about ourselves and have compassion for others. The breathwork was invigorating, which inspired me to bring it home to my own community. We also did ecstatic dancing, cold plunges in the ocean, new movement exercises, and enjoyed some really incredible vegetarian food prepared in-house. Last but not least, the retreat grounds were spectacular! Spirit Camp is nestled on 27 acres of beautifully landscaped redwood forest near the coast of Mendocino with hiking trails and open sunny meadows. Whether you're looking for an energizing retreat or just a relaxing vacation in the peaceful woods, Spirit Camp is definitely the place to experience it.

This space is one of the most beautiful and magical places I've ever been to. Nestled deep in the redwoods and just a short distance to some of the most beautiful beaches in a California, it couldn't be in a more perfect location. The cabins, lodge and sanctuary are all so cozy and welcoming, incredibly decorated and just such a joy to be in. The showers are warm and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need to make yummy meals. The land is covered in mushrooms, old trees and wildflowers..you could spend a whole weekend enjoying the groves there without even heading into town! Nathaniel and Julian are excellent hosts and an absolute joy to work with. It's truly such an oasis and I couldn't recommend it more!

I attended a retreat on this property and oh my goddess - it was magical. The property owners were so inviting and excited to share about the land and the history of the property. The care put into every detail of the place was so inspiring. Such a beautiful place with beautiful people caring for it. I cannot recommend this venue enough to anyone looking for a cabin stay or retreat venue. I will certainly be coming back time and time again. Clean bathrooms. Hot water in the showers. Beautiful paths for walking on property amongst the redwoods. I would give it 15 stars if I could. Thank you for taking such care in providing a special venue for events like the retreat I attended.

Spirit Camp has become our family tradition, and after multiple stays with groups ranging from a dozen to over 45 people across 6 different families, I can confidently say this is the most spectacular retreat experience you'll find. Thank you for consistently offering this beautiful, peaceful, and quiet space that has brought our three generations together in the most meaningful ways.

The lodge accommodated our large family so perfectly - there's something magical about having everyone together in that spacious main area while still giving each family their own private cabin space. It's like having your own private summer camp! The genius of Spirit Camp is how it solves that classic big family gathering challenge: wanting to be close without being cramped on top of each other.

The outdoor grounds are absolutely spectacular. The ample lawn space gives the kids endless room to run and play, while us adults can bask in the sunshine and truly relax. The fire pit setting creates those perfect evening moments - making s'mores and sharing stories around the campfire brings all generations together in a way that's reminiscent of years past. These are the moments that create lasting family memories.

What makes Spirit Camp truly special are the incredibly kind and accommodating hosts. They've gone above and beyond to help us create full retreat experiences, connecting us with healing services and helping arrange everything from yoga sessions and meditation to bringing in masseuses and caterers. We've even done cold plunging in the river! My friends and I also attended a yoga retreat here separately, which was an epic way to enjoy quality time together - there's something about practicing yoga in this serene natural setting that deepened our connections. The peaceful, quiet atmosphere is unmatched. The air is so clean, the hiking trails are beautiful, and you get this incredible feeling of being in your own little world away from all the craziness of daily life. Yet you're still close enough to Mendocino's charming town, restaurants, and Big River Beach for kayaking when you want to explore. There's this amazing balance where you venture out during the day, then can't wait to return to camp because it's so tranquil and restorative.

As a realtor with over 20 years of experience, I know beautiful properties when I see them, and Spirit Camp is truly a stunning, unique gem. The accommodations - both cabins and glamping options - are incredibly comfortable, and the property could easily handle 60+ people, making it perfect for large friend gatherings or multiple families looking for a rental for a family reunion venue with accommodations onsite. It would be perfect for a large multi day wedding!

The large kitchen in the lodge is perfect for cooking meals together, creating those special family bonding moments over shared preparation and meals. But the flexibility to also explore local restaurants gives you the best of both worlds. What I'm most grateful for is how this place allows us to actually connect across generations. The kids love the freedom to explore and play, the adults can truly relax and unwind, and everyone still gets their own space when they need it. Spirit Camp has given our family a place where we can step away from our busy lives and remember what's most important.

We will absolutely be back - again and again! This has become our go-to destination for large group accommodations because it simply works. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for creating and maintaining such an incredible space. So incredibly grateful to have found this treasure and to have been able to enjoy your retreat multiple times. Spirit Camp isn't just a large group vacation rental, it's where our family...

I've been coming to Spirit Camp for the past five years, and it's been absolutely incredible to witness the transformation of this special place. What started as a charming former summer camp has evolved into one of the most beautiful and versatile retreat centers I've ever experienced.||The renovations have been thoughtfully done - there are now 10 incredibly cozy cabin spaces that maintain that nostalgic summer camp feel while offering modern comfort. The addition of luxury glamping tents has been a game-changer for large group accommodations, and honestly, sleeping under the stars in those bell tents surrounded by towering redwoods is magical.||Over the years, I've participated in breathwork certification trainings here, attended weekend yoga retreats, joined art workshops, and even brought my company team for corporate retreats. Each experience has been uniquely wonderful. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous year-round, and there's something about this place that just makes you feel instantly at peace.||We're actually having our wedding here next year, which feels like the perfect full-circle moment! We're planning a 150-person celebration with about 50 of our closest friends and family staying on-site for three days. The fact that we can have our entire wedding party and immediate family right here with us, while our other guests stay at the beautiful local inns just five minutes away in Mendocino, makes everything so much easier and more intimate.||What I love most is how this place manages to feel completely secluded and private on its 27 acres of pristine land with private hiking trails, yet you're literally five minutes from the charming town of Mendocino and the stunning Pacific Ocean. It's the best of both worlds - total forest immersion when you want it, and easy access to coastal adventures and local dining.||The facilities have been upgraded beautifully. The 1,500 square foot lodge is perfect for large group dinners and dancing, while the sanctuary space creates the most serene atmosphere for ceremonies, yoga classes, or healing workshops. I've hosted team building events here multiple times because having everyone stay on-site really creates that special bonding experience you just can't get at a hotel.||Whether I've been here with intimate groups of 15 people (which feels wonderfully cozy) or larger corporate retreats of 50+, the space always feels perfectly sized. The staff and owners have created something truly special - a place that honors its summer camp roots while providing the comfort and amenities needed for weddings, corporate offsites, healing retreats, yoga trainings, family reunions, and friend gatherings.||If you're looking for a retreat center, wedding venue with accommodations, or just a magical place to gather with people you love, I cannot recommend Spirit Camp enough. It's become like a second home to me, and I know it will capture...

We recently attended my best friend and his partner’s wedding at Spirit Camp, and it was an experience like no other. This queer-friendly wedding venue, owned by a wonderful queer couple, provided the perfect backdrop amidst the towering redwoods of Mendocino. The multi-day retreat was filled with deep connections, authentic relating, and even sound healing sessions that brought everyone closer together. It was really special to have a multi day celebration of their love instead of the standard one day of activities. I want to do something like this for my future wedding with everyone staying onsite together to create depth of connection between family and friends.

The onsite accommodations were fantastic—luxurious glamping tents and cozy cabins made it convenient for guests flying in from all over. The whole celebration felt like a fun-filled summer camp wedding, creating unforgettable memories with family and friends. If you’re looking for a unique and inclusive Mendocino wedding venue, I can’t recommend Spirit Camp enough, especially for those looking for a LGBTQA wedding event space. It’s the ideal place to celebrate love in all its forms!

Nestled amidst the gentle embrace of nature, Spirit Camp Retreat Center is an absolute haven. From the moment I stepped foot into this enchanting space, I felt an undeniable connection to tranquility, ease and healing. I am so grateful for the opportunity to stay at this retreat center and I continue to come back periodically. This is one of my favorite retreat centers on earth!

The sheer beauty of the surroundings is nothing short of breathtaking, creating an immersive experience that rejuvenates the soul. The serenity that permeates the air is a testament to the thoughtful design and care that has been poured into every inch of this retreat center.

In this sanctuary, relaxation becomes an art form. The atmosphere exudes a calming energy, inviting guests to unwind and reconnect with the essence of their being. It's as if time slows down, allowing for a profound sense of inner peace to wash over you.

The hosts, Nathaniel and Julian, are true stewards of hospitality, where they always weave an intricate tapestry of warmth and care. Their genuine dedication to the well-being of their guests is palpable, creating an environment where one feels not just welcome, but truly cherished. It's evident that love has been interwoven into the very fabric of this space, making it a gift to anyone fortunate enough to experience it. I highly recommend for everyone to stay at Spirit Camp- staying here is an incredibly special experience. It is more than just a destination for me; it's a sanctuary for my soul and I always leave rejuvenated that resonates long...
