I will start with the positives. The location for where I needed to be was perfect and the lobby was decorated beautifully. The staff on that evening were polite and extremely courteous. I thought we were off to a great start bit little did I know that the nightmare was about to start.
I was absolutely disgusted that the rooms were not as clean as they should have been. We checked in and dropped our bags after a long trip did a quick glance at the room and left to find a restaurant. When we returned to the room we were exhausted and we were ready to go to bed. We turned down both beds and noticed they were not made neatly and the bed skirts were shifted. We pulled bad the top layer of each bed and saw long black hairs in both beds. Those same hairs were all over the bathroom floor which did not look like it had been mopped. The counter, tub and wall had stains I could wipe with a tissue. Also the light by the door delayed to turn on along with humming and hissing like it had an electric short. I suspected some water damage at one time or another. The room smelled like mildew the closet had a dampness collector hanging which made me question if the room recently had a leak.
After all of this I go to call the front desk to change rooms and the phone doesn't work so have to use my cell to call. After a five minute hold, finally I get through and explain the situation but have to track all the way down to the lobby for new room keys in pajamas. We were moved to the floor below us and had to lug our bags downstairs. The new room was slightly better but there was still hair in the bathroom tub and floor. The lamps were rusted and the wallpaper was peeling which is another sign of water damage. The room was so underwhelming. It seemed as if a partial upgrade to the room was done while other things like linen and bed bases were recycled. Literally if it were no so late we would have put our clothes back on and went to another hotel like the Hampton because atleast they promise clean sheets and bedding.
We woke up sore because the beds were rock hard and we were agitated because we laid towels on the sheets and pillows because we couldn't trust the sheets were cleaned.
For the price ($171.87) I guess we paid for location because the rooms were not even at the level of a Motel 6 because atleast they leave a working light on. Our room lights...

Read moreCredit Card Overcharged !!!!after paying with Marriott Points! Marriott Fort. N. Cypress Creek Lauderdale, started off okay. I called ahead letting the Hotel know I would be arriving later that evening. I had already downloaded the Bonvoy app attaching my Credit Card. My credit card on file was pre-authorized for $40 by Marriott, however upon arrival checking in, I was told I needed to give another credit card allowing another hold of $50 for Incidentals after paying for my room with points in full including tax. So, $40 was preauthorized on the Bonvoy App.. then upon physical check-in, I was told they needed another credit card for $50 more dollars. Whew! Not one employee could explain to me why? Recap! Keep in mind. I paid with 30,000 points for my room in full. Then $40 from the Bonvoy App & $50 upon checking in. Something not right! I went to order food for dinner after checking in & the food wasn’t fresh. After checking out, there were an additional $30 for food charge on my credit card, after returning the food. Totaling $130 worth of charges between both my credit cards. This is insane! It took 7 phone calls back to the Hotel asking for them to release the Hold’s. I was told due to the food charge, they do a separate hold to your credit card, it doesn’t come out of incidentals charges. Two weeks later on the 28th of February, I had to reach out to the Marriott Hotel again, asking if they could release the hold of $40 on my Credit Card attached to my Bonvoy account immediately then asked if the Manager Stacy, could call me back. Well, Stacy never called me back, Stacy politely emailed me a receipt with $0 balance. I file a complaint with Marriott and I requested to have my points refunded for poor customer service and taking advantage of Marriott customer’s by leaving multiple charges/and or incidental holds on my credit card. This is unacceptable. Go to another Hotel. Stacy never called me back & extremely poor customer service. Alex tried his best helping, I appreciate him Stacy please explain why you never called me back & why did I have multiple holds on my Credit Cards? Overall Horrible experience. Try another Hotel. Stacy the mgr never contacted me...
