This review will be long (edited multiple times to meet character limit) so if you don't have the time to read it all, know this: it's the ultimate trifecta: great park, great staff, and great residents.
My husband and I are full time rvers. We've 'lived' everywhere. We've seen good campgrounds and horrible ones where we chose sleeping in a parking a lot instead.
I called and made my reservation with Candy. I could not believe how helpful she was. We prefer a more isolated site that feels like we're in our own little nook with our own little yard. It's very hard to find these sites because they're typically already taken or simply nonexistent. Candy knew just the site for us.
When we arrived after hours, we were greeted by Mark. He gave us a very warm welcome and gave us our welcome kit that included everything to set up the free internet (modem, cords, etc) as well as our gate key and the clubhouse key (both cards). He was so nice that we ended up chatting for a bit about life and he recommended us some places to eat at.
When he directed us to our site, I couldn't believe our luck. It was in a corner and had lots of grassy area behind it to walk the dog without having to do more than step off the concrete pad. We had what they call a 'tiki' on our site that was a pavilion with a grassy roof. The site owners had a ceiling fan installed in the tiki.
Our site was an all concrete pad so there was never any dirt or mud tracked into the camper. It was long enough to fit our 42' fifth wheel and a dually truck with plenty of space between. We were shaded by palm trees on one side giving us the privacy I asked for. The tiki and a storage unit was on the other side between the next site. When we had neighbors, it didn't feel like they were on top of us. We did not have access to the storage shed but I was able to utilize the front steps.
The clubhouse has a library with poker tables, games and movies, and an unheard of selection of books for a campground. Mostly hardback bestsellers in pristine condition. The fitness room is also in the clubhouse. Two treadmills, three elliptical machines, and a couple of weight machines. It's also equipped with a tv and two blessed ceiling fans. Next to the fitness room is a modern laundry facility (excluding being coin operated) with everything.
The clubhouse is also home to all of the office staff. Candy, Kathy, and Michelle are the most welcoming people I've ever encountered at a campground. They go above and beyond to make sure the guests are happy. They are people I would hang out with outside of their work.
The shuffle board area (are they called lanes? 🤔) are on one side of the club house while the tennis court and pickle ball is on another.
The pool is on the back of the clubhouse facing one of the lakes. There's a dock leading out to the lake and there's always huge beautiful birds out there to admire. The pool is salt water and temperature controlled even in the summer! The deepest part is 5 feet and is plenty big enough for several different groups of people to be in it without feeling crowded. The hot tub is... hot. Beside it is one of those chairs that can help assist people getting in and out of the pool. The entire area is always kept in pristine condition by Donny. I've even seen him skimming the pool in his off time.
All the way in the back is a storage area and the garbage area. This was the first place that I've seen that offers recycling. It boggles the mind why it's not more common in Florida of all places. There's a dog park in this general area, too. It has a small doggy pool and benches under shade to relax. The dog park is separated into 2 areas: small dogs and little dogs.
The park itself is stunning with huge palm trees everywhere. The landscaping is beautiful and most sites feel like you're all to yourself. There's two lakes and a nature trail.
Cypress Trails will be a hard place to beat. Leaving there felt like I was leaving a family member's house after a long weekend. I hope that our travels bring us back to...
Read moreIt is a HOA with plenty of rules, so READ them. It is a beautiful resort with spacious nice sites and plenty of amenities and activities. ||Our experience there…||We checked in with no issues and the office staff was very helpful. Note that we have 3 little dogs that weigh 21lbs altogether and that I walk them all every day around the campground. 5 days later, a neighbor complained that our dogs were barking incessantly for an hour. Exaggerated statement for sure, although I do admit they were barking at the ducks around the lake a little too often which we were addressing and would put them inside the RV. I received a call from Patti regarding this when she stated that we had 3 dogs which was against the rules. I told her that we always mention we have 3 small dogs (since some places are strict with a two dog max, but most allow them since they are so small) and she insisted that we did not. She said she would talk to her manager. I felt bad about the mix up and figured we could work something out. My initial thought was to ensure no more than two dogs were outside at once and we would keep them all inside most of the time. Marsha, who made our reservation called me back and also insisted that we did not disclose the dogs to her when we made our second reservation (we were going to stay two months). Then Michelle, the manager, got on the phone and basically read me the riot act about the 3 dogs. I re-explained how we would have mentioned it and she said ‘if that were true, we would not have been allowed to register. She was standing behind her staff’. She said that ‘we had been caught sneaking in 3 dogs’ and that we would need to kennel them or leave. We had until 10am the next day (basically 20 hours). I mentioned we had family flying in that day to visit, but it made no difference. We picked up our family from the airport, found a place to go (thankfully), and the next day we left as instructed. I had to call 3 times to tell them we left and to ensure we were going to receive a refund. ||||This all happened on...
Read moreArrived on 2/1 for a two week stay to enjoy the area with the intentions of seriously looking to purchase. First of all, the facility is beautiful. It is new and there is mix of RV types; motor homes, 5th wheels and casitas (updated mobile homes). We checked at the gate and were provided a folder of info, rules and regulations, and a box with a modem, cables, and connectors. NOTE: no where does it state nor remind folks that you must provide your own router. Had to go to Walmart to purchase one. Would have brought one from home as I have a couple there. The lot next door was undergoing major renovation with an addition of a shed, casita, and a brick paver addition. So we had to listen to construction noise for several days. Additionally, the paving contractor asked me to move my car over in my lot, which I did, and covered the driveway with sand for driving his Bobcat front end loader up our side to move dirt and stones. After a call to the office that was stopped and they used the owner's driveway. Internet- it has worked intermittently. We called the office and was told it was up to us to contact the internet provider ourselves. Wow. We did, and an appointment was made 4 days later. Earliest availability. They checked and nothing wrong with with the line. The modem died ( the one provided by Cypress Trail). Called the office was told we had to call Internet provider for the modem Cypress Trail provided. To say we have some negative feelings about our stay is putting it mildly. The new lot prices are in the mid- 80's and I am not feeling the love about paying that based upon our stay. This place is not cheap and I really expected more. I hope others have better...
