The campground is pretty easy to get to even in a sedan. When you go around the corner there’s a handful of small-medium sized sites with a fire ring and table. There was lots of trails down to the river to fish or boat, but I never caught anything. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and there was a dumpster on site. Despite that, there was still trash all over the place. Lots of visitors come through and many don’t follow camp etiquete. Noisy till midnight, leave trash all over the place, let their bad dogs run wild, cut down trees for firewood. The list goes on. If you visit on a weekday you’re more than likely to have a better stay than one on the weekend. Spots fill up quick so I’d get there Friday or Saturday morning.

This is a great little spot.... was an adventure to find but when we got there we had a great time! The rapid waters was wonderfully cold made for a good weekend getaway . Just know no running water so take plenty of hand washing water or antibacterial gel. Plus the skunks are a little gangsta... definitely want to put away any food items you want to use up high. We lost a whole pack of tortillas due to thinking they could get on the top of the picnic table....lol... oh well live and learn.

As always I had another great experience there. There was a "rookie" group of young adults I had the pleasure of meeting on this trip. I probably should have waited to share the fun of the scorpion light until they had a few more trips in em. Sorry ya'll had to leave so soon. Oops! I tried to warn ya that all that loud racket was going to attract a party of rowdy guests, you know the ones, the locals that live there. I just couldn't figure out why they weren't getting along🤣

This is absolutely our favorite place to camp in Arizona! The river is a short walk away with alcoves that are great for wading or fishing. The general store up the road is a little spendy but worth the money when you're in a pinch. The rangers who work there are great and spent about 45 minutes with us talking about wildlife with our kids, which they loved! Grounds are always clean but sometimes it can get a little crazy in weekend nights. Rattlesnake cove just the opposite side of the general store is a blast to play at and close enough not to be a nightmare. This place is also extremely...
