This place is incredible!!! First, the setting. It’s a combination of Joshua Tree and Sedona physically speaking. They nailed the site selection! It’s like God shaped the landscape. It is perfect. Beautiful rock formations, desert flora perfectly distributed, the sunsets are mind blowing, etc.

The rooms are spacious, stylish, well appointed. All in the customary minimalist design of Aman hotels around the world. Just cannot beat this brand! I will say that at this price, you’d think the rooms might have their own little dipping pool. But they have their own very cool fire pits, which is unique. And star gazing from your little patio? Epic. They don’t sell that feature well enough. It’s amazing. Maybe it’s a surprise. But it is special.

Staff are so lovely. Every single one of them. And they’re from all over the world, which is fun. You can tell they’re hand picked and for the most part, well trained (only suggestion is to up the tempo on asking guests if they want something). Leave your room for something and it seems they clean it every time you leave, which is so nice. Extremely efficient.

The food? Absurdly great!!! The chef and his staff are artisans. The bartender is a genius. We couldn’t wait to eat and drink here. Room service is quick and efficient too.

Pool is glorious. One of the best I’ve ever seen. Would be a wise move to screen the parking lot and the noise of tires on gravel. But the pool is built around a massive rock formation. And just a perfect temp. Fantastic day bed configuration all around it.

Spa? Perfect 10. Our massage therapists were gifted specialists. Stylish, dialed in on every detail, inviting, truly magnificent. One of the best ever. Pilates instructor is amazing, gym is a bit small but fine given there are only about 35 rooms here. Well equipped!

Getting here isn’t the nightmare we thought it would be. If you’re gonna stay only a few days, flying private both ways is not the most prudent choice, even if you can afford it. You can fly into Page Muni, commercial, from Phoenix. Short flight and the airport is maybe 20 mins from the hotel. We went to Vegas for a Cirque show and then drove up, takes about 4.5 hours, and are flying private home. That feels slightly less ridiculous. But if you’re staying a week here, private makes more sense if you wanna feel completely refreshed. Then you’re 90 mins from the Bay! Or about 2 hours from Austin. And you can tell they’re trying to figure out more efficient ways to reach this magical place.

Concierge needs a bit of work. Were unresponsive to my wife on a few questions prior to arrival. Fouled up Pilates class schedule. One guy handed me a piece of paper with marina phone numbers on it when we wanted to tour the lake. Their two partner marinas were sold out so in their eyes I was hosed. If you don’t book a guided tour through them, they basically don’t help you? We don’t need a guide…So my assistant found an amazing group last minute on Fourth of July weekend where we got a fantastic jet ski and then a wake boat. Lake Powell Experience. Incredible!!!! But the concierge of a resort where you’re paying 3-4k a night should tirelessly find you that boat and that ski until all options are exhausted, period. Not your assistant. There are only about four rental places. Would have taken only a few mins to track them down. In fairness, they somewhat made up for it by giving us a great BMW for half the day. No charge. The fleet is fantastic and complementary. So don’t rent a car!

Guests like me who are athletic need more to do. The mountain bike guide is great but he only has one option for you, which the resort could easily fix. They could build many miles of trails on property for next to nothing. So they should do that. We would have stayed longer, but I’m longing for my sporting life and headed back to the Bay this afternoon. Wanted to stay all weekend. We are 1000 percent coming back...

We spent three nights in this magical setting, and it was nothing short of incredible. The property itself is otherworldly and breathtakingly beautiful—it’s hard to even put into words. We stayed in room 30, which was absolutely phenomenal. The outdoor area overlooked the vast grounds, offering tranquility and stunning views. The room itself was luxurious, with a soaking tub facing the gorgeous landscape and a fridge stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks—a beautiful retreat where every detail is considered.||One of the absolute highlights of our trip was the Slot Canyon Tour with Steven as our guide. The tour was worth every single penny, truly one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. However, I was disappointed to learn that the 10% service fee added to tours doesn’t go to the tour operator or guide —it all goes to the resort. This policy feels a bit greedy and out of place for a property that prides itself on hospitality. ||I had an Aqua Shiatsu treatment at the spa, which was one of the best things I’ve ever experienced. I highly recommend opting for something unique like this instead of a more standard spa treatment. The spa services here are on another level and really add to the overall experience.||I appreciated that the intimate property meant that finding a spot by the pool was never an issue. Poolside lunch service was excellent, and I really appreciated the calm, unhurried atmosphere. ||Now, for the cons. While the setting and amenities are exceptional, I found that the service at this price point could be more polished and personalized. For example, when we booked our reservation, we had requested that Horseshoe Bend be added to our Slot Canyon tour, but it wasn’t on our itinerary. Of course, the tour operator was very accommodating and we were able to add it, but it should have already been there. Everyone at the resort was eager to please and very friendly, which I appreciated, but at a place like Amangiri, the service should feel more personalized. For instance, we had a dietary requirement noted, and although they reconfirmed the preference each night, only one night’s “tastings” they brought were adapted to her dietary requirement. All of them could have easily been modified like they did on night one, but they must have forgotten the other nights? Similarly, I ordered the same mocktail each evening, but it wasn’t noted and waiting for me on the third night—something you’d expect from a resort of this caliber. The personal attention was just not there.||As for dining, the dinner menu was somewhat challenging for a picky eater like me. Breakfast and lunch were fine, but the dinner menu leaned heavily into fine dining, which limited my options. Thankfully, there was a special one night that helped mix things up, but the regular menu felt repetitive. That said, everything I did eat was excellent, so if you enjoy fine dining, you won’t be disappointed.||The gym was small but well-equipped, and housekeeping was top-notch. The bell service was also excellent—they packed our car with care and made sure we had plenty of waters for the road ahead. One minor issue we had was with the thermostat in the room. The room became uncomfortably hot, and the instructions provided didn’t help. We ended up finding the manual online because we didn’t want to call someone into the room late at night while we were in our pajamas.||One thing I really loved was the turn-down amenity each night. The small touches like a face mask, perfume sample, and candle were luxurious and added to the overall experience.||All in all, we loved our stay at Amangiri, but I do agree with some comments about the service. The setting is unbeatable, and most aspects of our stay were exceptional, but there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of personalization, especially at this...
