The two stars are for the snow and Debbie. Everything else was 0 stars. If you have been there before or are with someone who has been there before, it’s probably fine. First-timers are not welcome, despite them offering lessons. This was my first experience skiing, and my husbands first experience in Utah. We got the Learn to Turn lessons with boot, helmet, and ski rentals. When we arrived around 9:15 (when we were instructed to arrive) it was extremely busy but because there was no signage for ski lessons except the main “Ticket Office and Ski Lessons”, we figured my husband would get into the line for that and I would pick up the rental packets from the yurt. After getting the packets, I walked around trying to find someone or something pointing us where to go specifically for ski lesson rentals. I couldn’t find anything, so I joined my husband in line. We waited for 20 minutes and since it was getting close to the time our lesson was supposed to start, my husband went to find someone to ask about it. We were then told that we should’ve just gone up to the front of the line because there was a “separate line” for ski lessons, even though there was no signage or indication of that. Almost every employee we spoke to following this was rude, dismissive, or extremely curt, except for Debbie (she was fantastic). We were very close to leaving and asking for a refund since we didn’t even want to take the lessons, but Debbie helped make it so we gave it a shot. We were told how we were late, how my husband was “cheating the system” because he was taking the lessons (even though he hadn’t skied in 10 years and wanted a refresher), how we were doing things wrong (but weren’t told how to do it correctly to begin with), etc. The entire thing was extremely unorganized and felt like we were a burden to everyone we came into contact with. When we finally got all our equipment and checked in (thanks to Debbie), the instructor we got was not much better. We were placed with a few other adults, and it seemed that because we were adults, she thought we would know what we were doing. It started off fine, but once we got on the bunny hill, she provided little to no explanation of how to do things (including very simple yet vital things like how to walk in the skis) and would tell us we were going to practice something without first giving us an example or anything. The best thing she did was stay on the hill while we were going down to catch us if we went to fast and couldn’t stop, but beyond that she didn’t do much. Her “explanation” of how to turn was to look in the direction we wanted to turn and it would just happen. I ended up stopping after the lesson while my husband continued skiing and while the lodge continued to be extremely busy, all of the workers were still very rude and rushing between doing things while returning items, trying to get food, etc. We were both NOT impressed by the customer service we received (again, except for Debbie) and it has made us not want to return anytime soon. For a lodge that has been open for nearly a century and this late into the season, I feel like we should have received a much better experience but it felt like they had opened a month before because of how disorganized everything seemed and how rude all of their...
Read moreI’ve never been treated so horribly by a staff of people. I actually think one of them was a part owner or something. It was the craziest busy day, and they were just rude, taking it out on the customers. Never felt so attacked by being a customer. We had ski lessons for my kids that have never been, and the staff just seemed so chaotic with no kindness or customer service. We were really looking forward to it. I get it was busy, but what happened to “thanks for your patience?” It really made the day have a bad feeling about it, and we spent quite a bit of money. I felt bad, like just saying “screw it can I have a refund and...
Read moreThe lodge is fine, but it gets pretty packed most days. I don't mind it, but I know plenty of people that don't.
The nice part is the grill moves quickly and the food is really good, while also being acceptable prices. (Unlike most resorts now🫤)
Also they are building another lodge adjacent to the current one, so that should solve the crowding problem and give the current rental shop more room.
(The photo I took is older, they have gotten most of the...
