Would not recommend. This was a terrible camping experience. We rented the "group" site 3 times the cost @ $121.00 a night. We wanted the entire weekend from a Thursday to Sunday. The Friday slot showed as not available. So I reserved Thursday, and Saturday. Once we arrived we found that the campsite was on the road. There was power for 3 campers, but hardly enough room to get them parked. Our "neighbors across the road were constantly pulling into our site to back into thiers. The "camp hosts" if you want to call them that, were mostly unavailable and when we told them we were wanting the Friday "first come first serve" spot as well, they informed us we needed to pay cash for it. I went to the self serve kiosk to pay for the site, and as I was paying another car pulled up and was trying to pay for the same site, they said the camp hosts had just told them that our site was available, talk about trying to start a fight! Saturday morning we decided to go ahead and leave early. The noise and constant traffic was too much. As we were packing up, someone asked if we were leaving, they were going to rent the spot we were in. We had vacated the spot by 10am and another group had rented it, paying cash, of course. We requested a refund a refund for the night we didn't use and were denied. Even though someone else had rented it. This is a California company managing a Colorado campground. We have definitely gotten to the point that California controls Colorado. This company should be ashamed. And stop doing untraceable cash...
Read moreWhat a beautiful campground and we were greeted by the friendly campground host right as we drove in. Got settled in and then next morning he comes over has says he thinks our Stand Up Paddle Boards are too much like swimming, so they're not allowed on the lake. We came here for my birthday and specifically because there are only non-motorized boats allowed on Bellaire Lake. After asking him to further look into it, he obliged and called his supervisor who also said they didn't really know what to consider a SUP since it wasn't expressly detailed on any signage. He then compared our boards to the blow up mattresses that people bring to the lake. Since fishing "belly boats" are allowed, they couldn't really tell us we couldn't especially since we didn't get in the water at all except to launch. I appreciate his tenacity for keeping the stocked lakes in check, but really SUP are no different than kayaks or canoes in my mind, other than you could probably fall in a little easier; but with a 10 ft board and no wake, it's unlikely. I would skip Bellaire and go to one of the other lakes to avoid the over-zealous host, but overall our stay...
Read moreCamp hosts we're great n pretty hilarious. There's a handful of really nice spots so plan in advance. This review we had 003 and 008 because it was last minute Father's Day weekend. ( We did Sun Mon nights n the place was fully occupied) Site 008 is exposed but has wonderful view northwest (007 is pretty sweet up above 008 with big trees). 003 turned out to be pretty alright. Back yard is a nice stream n meadow. Across is a multi camp site so it's busy) both close to good flush toilets n running water. Are experience at 8 would have been just great if it wasn't for the heavy wind). 003 is a little more protected. 008 is closer to the lake too so easy walking. Overall I would give this campsite a couple thumbs up we had a good time here and it was a last-minute deal. Some of the higher number sites around the west side are pretty nice ....
