The Brettelberg Condominiums are amazing for families looking to experience an off-the-path adventure. The condos are a little dated, so do not expect top-of-the-line luxury, but what they do not offer in splendor, they certainly made up for in character. The condos offer fantastic full kitchen facilities (including plenty of dishes) and it is perfectly tucked on top of the most picturesque mountains in all of CO. They offer a wonderful hot-tub, which we enjoyed each evening as we watched the sun set behind the mountains, a cute rec room complete with a pool table, a plethora of books & comfy couches, and there are community grills which you can use (for a $2 donation). As we visited in the summer months, our family enjoyed hiking on the local trails, we saw plenty of wildlife, and the location is absolutely breathtaking (figuratively & literally, as we weren't used to being up that high in elevation - it was humbling how slow we had to hike, to catch our breath). Our kids loved the amount of Murphy Beds each condo offers (so it is perfect for large families or even extended families to stay here), the people we met there were so wonderful and it is not located too far from the city. We would highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a great value and an even bigger adventure!

Ski In - Ski Out on a little (3) three lift mountain outside Glenwood Springs Colorado. Very cool lodge, very cool mountain escape if you are looking to avoid the lines of a bigger resort. I never waited in the lift line, granted I was there mid-week. For every chair that had a skier/boarder, there were 30 or 40 empty. The mountain offers some decent terrain for even the most experienced and offers up some real nice green runs for the beginner. This is definitely a great place for the family to start their journey as a skier. I got to meet several of the ski instructors and they seem highly knowledgeable and great with adults and kids alike. The room itself was nice, clean and comfortable. I also had the opportunity to spend a few hours at Iron Mountain Hot Springs and that was also a cool experience and the lodge/mountain offers a ski and soak promotion that I would put on a "MUST TRY" list.

This place saved our wedding! Before going into the review I want to give Peter and Lisa and the rest of the staff a giant thank you for helping us out as much as they did. We originally rented an entire hotel down the road for our guests/to be the venue for our wedding. However when we arrived it was run down and had people wondering around in it. We stayed there for maybe an hour or two before heading up the mountain to Brettelberg. We showed up around 10 to 11 PM and thankfully the staff answered and made it possible for all the guests to have a rooms for the weekend. The rooms were clean even on super short notice. The staff was super accommodating for us. Even allowing us to use their rec/deck space for the rehearsal dinner and reception, which had a great view of the mountain as all the leaves where turning gold. Thank you again everyone there for turning a disaster into a lovely time.

Brettelberg condos was magnificently terrible at communication and responsiveness. So terrible, in fact, that I was never even able to book a room there. I am attending a wedding at the nearby Sunlight Mountain Resort this weekend, so it would have been wonderful to have lodging onsite. The bride-to-be and her wedding party are staying there as well, and she warned me that Brettelberg would be more of a headache than it was worth. Silly me decided to try anyway.

I looked into staying at the D6 condo, but I had a few questions before booking (i.e. What exactly does 0 bathrooms mean?). After getting no response via e-mail, I called Brettelberg. The phone staff didn't have details on this unit, so they passed my information and message along to the unit owners. A week went by, so I e-mailed and called again. Still no response. Fast forward a month, and I had e-mailed twice and called FOUR times. Each phone call was met with the same response: the phone staff didn't know anything about the unit and would ensure that the owners would call me back.

I gave up and reserved a hotel near downtown Glenwood Springs. I'm sure Brettelberg would have been lovely, but I was not willing to reserve a place that wouldn't communicate with me for over a month. Who knows what problems could have arisen? Would they double book it? Would we arrive to find that the place hadn't been cleaned or prepared? And I still don't know if the D6 unit even...

This place ROCKS. All the staff I met all over the mountain were so kind. It was closing weekend so I’m sure spirits were high in general, but we felt right at home. There is terrain for all skiers right off your back door. We accidentally locked ourselves out around 9pm. Even though we were embarrassed, the man running the office kindly let us in and reassured us it was no problem. The game room offers a great space to spread out and host a pot luck not to mention the deck and hot tub outside. Laundry is a bit pricy so pack accordingly. We stayed in unit G2 which had plenty of upsides and downsides. Upsides: you can ski to your door and down to the lift from your door. If you time it right you can also park right in front of your door as well. It is somewhat close to the dumpster, just a bit of a walk down the parking lot. The wall next to the queen bed does well to block noise from the kitchen and sitting area. The bathroom is very nice, especially the shower. Also, the neighbors are genuinely great people. Downsides: The unit feels a bit small when you have four people. Three would probably be perfect. The kitchen was small with limited cooking supplies. The fridge door did not shut very well. Many cabinet doors were almost falling off. If these random things get fixed I feel like this would be a fantastic unit.

Quick tip, go up the stairs which are closest to the slope and the base in order to...

The website did a great job of up selling the niceness of the rooms. Each rooms condition and amenities greatly varied do to them being individually owned. Our room E3 looked great online. But when we got there the everything was dirty, tables, counter, floors. Also had several flies in our room. I went to sit on the futon couch and quickly realised the whole bottom of the couch was laying on the floor. Which is also where our son was supposed to sleep. There was items in room left by previous guests such as food, old flowers. The toilet leaked water from the base. The heater was also stuck on so it was 85-90 degrees in the room the first night. Luckily maintenance figured out how to shut it off the second night. The views from the condo deck was amazing and fun to hang on as long as you didn't disturb the residents that live there full time. They weren't exactly nice about asking us to quite down. Considering half the place was rented by our friends for a wedding. We were also told by a person who said he was the Manager that we could smoke on the deck but not in the rooms. Yet friends were yelled at multiple time by what we guess were residents, not to smoke on decks. Every room had a no smoking sign on the door but there were no signs on the decks. Over all we had a good time thanks to being there with great friends and family. But I would recommend looking your room over before you...
