My family and I chose this place for proximity between her home in California and my home in Colorado. We enjoyed ourselves despite the hostesses of this location. When we arrived on Monday to check in I mentioned to the owner that I would have been here sooner if it had not been such a long delay for road construction just before they're Campground. She immediately told me not to say anything bad about road construction people because they were her family and she was not going to hear of it. The next day we were able to meet her sister who visits and lives with them for five months out of the Year from California. This lady was the most unhappy, unkind ,ungracious human being I have encountered in a long time. Oddly enough the bathrooms close for a full two hours every day between 12 and 2 p.m. and when you're camping and you have small children the ages of two and four it's really kind of hard to understand why they close for such a long period of time. One day when we were in there using the restroom it happened to be right around the 12 time and the rude sister came in and told us that we were not to be using the facilities at that hour and that they were closed and if we could not follow the rules that the next day she would lock the campground bathrooms and showers. On our last day camping, after we had loaded up and were ready to go we walked into the bathroom to use it before leaving on our long journey home. Well needless to say we had another encounter with the rude sister. It was a few minutes past 12pm and I immediately apologized, she looked right through me. When I walked out I noticed that she was cleaning the men's room so I walked over to her and I told her again, thank you so much we appreciate your graciousness and she just looked at me and gave me the dirtiest look she could give me, without even the courtesy of saying you're welcome or acknowleding in any way that I had just spoken to her. Our site were number s 14 and 15 they both had trees which was nice but there are many other locations that did not have trees. The sites are so close together that you literally can hear your next-door neighbor snoring . The pool is more like a green pond so really you should not consider the fact that they have a pool as much of an incentive to stay there. Their Cafe is very very pricey; $13 for hamburger which just doesn't seem right. Like I said we had a wonderful time but it was just based on the fact that we were there together as a family in spite of the camp owner...
Read moreMy wife and I Just spend 4 nights at the Bryce Zion Campground, and it was far from what was promised or expected. To begin with, all the photos on the website are several years old (probably made when it was still a KOA campground) it is not nearly as clean and pristine as represented. We had booked a long pull through site when we made the reservation, when we arrived we had been assigned a pull-in back out site with an uphill grade. When I showed the camp host the confirmation, she told me that she would have to contact her boss that was on vacation to see if it could be changed. The campground is only open from May 1st (the day we arrived) until October 1st, it seems to me the owners could schedule their vacation during the 7 months the campground is closed rather than their opening week. They left their only employee to handle opening the campground, manage the incoming guests, run the camp store and do the routine maintenance. The amenities offered on the website include Cooters Café (closed), Swimming pool (empty and in need of repair), internet available (sign posted in office ‘internet is for e-mail only no down-loading, streaming or gaming. One person can shut down the entire server”). What internet service that was available was slow and unreliable.|While I was checking-in another guest was having difficulty with the electric service at his site. He was assured an electrician would be there to look at it in the afternoon or not later that the next day. He ended up having to run his generator for the 3 days he stayed. All of the guest in the section where we were located had electrical issues due to low voltage including appliance failures, diming lights, no tv satellite reception. We experienced all of these as well as shorting two surge protectors. In speaking with other guest, they had been promised to side by side with another couple. We ended up between the two coaches because not receiving our confirmed site. |The bottom line is the owners left their employee with no authority to handle the situation. Which indicated to me that they do not respect their guest. If Bryce Zion Campground is the only available option in the area, pick...
Read moreThis was the most disappointing campsite that I have ever had to stay! The grass and weeds were tall everywhere including the dog park, play area, by Cooter’s, and in our cramped site area. They were starting to mow the day we left, and that is the only type of maintenance that I saw being done. We stayed there the weekend before Memorial Day. They advertised reopening May 1st, but they weren’t ready for guests. My son and his family had planned on visiting us and swimming, playing, and eating at Cooter’s. Cooter’s had a faded sign and wasn’t open nor was the pool and the play area was a weedy mess. Needless to say they didn’t come. We would have changed campgrounds, but the places we called were full. We had no room between our site and the neighbor’s. Well, I guess it was suppose to be our site. When we checked in nobody was there, and the number on the flyer that mentioned Cooter’s open in the evenings, the pool, etc. had one site number and the map another. As you can see in the photos it was unmowed, extremely tight with no room to even walk between our slide, the picnic table, and the neighbor and the other way, we had to park the car over the fire pit. It was a joke! There was no phone reception for us with Verizon, and they know here wi-fi is horrible, because they did mention that in the flyer, but, yet, they advertise it. We couldn’t even reach our son and his family close by to schedule together not to mention our family back home! I’m giving 2 stars just because the site worked properly, the rock mountains back behind the campground were beautiful, and the horses nearby were pretty. PS The flyer said you can feed the horses carrots, apples, or watermelon rind, but they don’t supply it. My husband remarked, “they want us to feed their horses, too!” How nice it would be if they had some of that available...
