Let me start by mentioning that my wife booked our stay at C Lazy U Ranch, and I had no idea what to expect out of this or what it even was. The moment we arrived (at night), I was amazed! The grounds are beautiful and the staff is so welcoming and good at their jobs. The staff seem to really enjoy what they do as well. You are allowed “free reigns” to wonder the ranch and they are all so great in showing you their work and explaining things. The activities were amazing and a great way to spend time with close ones doing something a little different. The ranch has an itinerary each day, and you can let the front desk know which activities you’d like to participate in and at what time slot. The food! Oh my gosh, the food! So good!! How is this food included with the stay? Served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 1.5 hour time slots, the food was a WIDE range of items to choose from. Buffet style. Even great options for vegetarians and kids! The rooms are great and so spacious! Open door policy, but everything is very safe. Fireplace in the room was a nice touch! Beds were big and comfy! Huge bathroom! Close to so many mountain towns and ski resorts, that you could drive 5-10 minutes to check those out if you desired. We stayed on the ranch the entire time. Big and clean hot tubs! Fun lobby with historical pictures of the ranch and a bar that serves liquor, beer, and wine! I will mention that the drinks are paid separate at the end. They are not included. They also have snack at the bar. There is a game room that has pool, ping pong, and much more! Don’t look any further. You will not regret booking a stay here! Great for kids, families, couples, or going solo. Tips are not accepted in the moment, but are at the end of your trip. We were told that most guests tip 20% of their bill. We tipped more, based on our...
Read moreI’ve been hesitant to right this review for a long time because almost everything; the food, the accommodations, the summer scenery, was perfect. The staff was beyond kind, and the open air spa was so refreshing. I wanted so badly to love this place. But, I came here for the horses. After reading glowing review after glowing review, I expected a true Western excursion to lope and gallop freely with my horse. I was very disappointed to realize that the riding on this trip is more suited for tourists than for serious riders. Expectedly, much of the riding is an uphill trek. However, this meant that the horses got tired out very fast. Much of the riding was stepping around natural obstacles, and this left very little room for loping. A lot of the riding was head-to-tail trail rides. The so called “advanced rides” still felt mundane, with mostly walking and occasional lopes. Even the opportunities to ride in the arena were limited, and more suited for beginners. My 9-year-old son, who is extremely well versed in Western horsemanship, was disappointed with how slow and easy the children's riding was. The horses were very sweet, but felt sluggish and not supple. They were so used to following the horses in front of them that they were not very responsive when riding in a more open area, especially for the cattle pushing.|I apologize for the rant, and it may be unrealistic of me to expect such advanced riding at a family ranch. If you’re a beginner or aren’t picky about the riding, this ranch is amazing. For advanced riders, I’d...
Read moreC Lazy U Ranch I was introduced to 55 years ago. This is where I met my wife to be - where she was in Guest Services and I was a Wrangler and in charge of herd health There were about 80 head of horses and 500 head a cat at that time. This was his is in 1970. I had an opportunity to come back to the ranch as an invited guest of their sheer friendship and hospitality - when they heard that my dear sweet wife had gone to heaven to be with Jesus this last summer, they asked I come and spend time there again. So I went Deb and had been back at the ranch a couple times only for a real brief visit. At one time. I had a chance to treat a horse that needed some special care as I’m a veterinarian. When the horse responded well to his treatment I was asked to come back but we never came back When the ranch found out Deb died they invited me back to spend a few days -it was such a kind gesture I will always remember. I had a great time being a wrangler again there. I met so many nice people. I spent quite a bit of time with the wranglers and was included like a being a wrangler again I was there in February and we had several feet of snow to contend with, but that didn’t stop the horses nor the riders, I spend most of my time either helping with the horses or riding Thsnk you so much C lazy U this opportunity that was given to me by the C Lazy U . God bless you all thank you so much Dr Dennis, Tim...
