We stayed at Candlewood Suites for a long weekend when visiting Colorado Springs. I was highly impressed with the hotel and our room. The hotel is exceptionally clean. We had a double queen room with a view of the mountains. The room includes a full sized refrigerator with an ice maker, a dishwasher, a 2 burner stove top, dishes, utensils, and pans. I was happy that they include salt, pepper, and paper towels in the room. The room had a very convenient desk with an office chair. There is a recliner in the room, as well as a standard chair. The one issue I had was that there were 4 of us and only 3 chairs, so eating dinner in the room was a challenge.||||There is a good size closet with hangers, an iron, and ironing board. There is also a laundry basket in case you need to take clothes to the laundry room. The bathroom is a decent size, with some shelving to keep things organized. I would have liked more counter space. The towels were nice and thick. The shower has large dispensers with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The bathroom was sparkling clean.||||Currently, housekeeping is not provided during your stay unless you are there for a longer stay. You are able to take your garbage out and exchange sheets and towels as needed. As we were only staying 3 nights, we only needed to exchange towels once. I believe this policy is due to the pandemic.||||The beds were very comfortable. I often wake up sore when staying in hotels, but the mattresses were perfect. ||||The breakfast is from 7-10 on Sat & Sun and from 6-9 weekdays. The breakfast includes an egg dish, meat, oatmeal, bagels, bread, cereal, and yogurt. Drink options included juice, soda, water, coffee, hot tea, or hot chocolate. The breakfast didn't offer a huge variety, but was good and the breakfast area is very clean. Coffee is available 24-7 in the lobby.||||The PX and Commissary are close by and there's a Safeway not...

Ah, the IHG Candlewood Suites on Fort Carson—a true oasis in the desert of military lodging. If the barracks are the DMV, then this place is the first-class lounge at an airport. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with actual hospitality (a rare commodity on base), clean surroundings, and—wait for it—fully functioning air conditioning!
The rooms? Absolute luxury compared to barracks life. Spacious, clean, and designed for actual human comfort, they come with a full kitchen setup, so you can finally cook something other than ramen or chow hall leftovers. The bed? Plush enough that you’ll question if you even deserve such comfort after years of rock-hard barracks mattresses.
Amenities include: ✔️ A well-equipped gym, so you can actually enjoy PT for once. ✔️ A lending locker with small appliances and games—because sometimes you just need a slow cooker and a board game. ✔️ Free laundry facilities that work more consistently than any barracks washer ever has. ✔️ A pantry stocked with snacks, because sometimes the late-night cravings hit harder than a PT test on a Monday.
And let’s not forget the peace and quiet. No surprise 0200 fire alarms, no unexpected room inspections—just good ol’ uninterrupted sleep (unless your unit finds a reason to wake you up early anyway).
Final verdict? If you’re on orders, TDY, or just looking for a break from the barracks, the IHG Candlewood Suites is the best place to be. 5/5 stars—would absolutely recommend to anyone with access to a government...
Read moreThe location is in a great spot. You aren't far from both the commissary and main exchange. Location is also clean outside and inside. Parking spots are a little awkward but that's due to the floor level. The rooms are great. Everything was clean and smelled good. The kitchen is equipped with everything you may need for minor cooking. You have extra towels, tissues, toilet paper, trash bags and more than enough soap. They also provide more in their little shop by the front desk. Room service workers are amazing, very kind and quick to help. Breakfast is provided and it's good, you have a variety to choose from which helps. They also have a laundry room, which is wonderful if you're having to stay here for awhile. I did have an issue in the laundry room. A "karen" claiming she made the rules, was threatening another guest. Saying she would throw away her clothes because they weren't removed from the washer immediately; so she took it upon herself to throw another gueats wet clothes onto the counter ( says everywhere that that isnt allowed ) and put her clothes in the washer. I reported this immediately to the front desk and the women working that night was quick to help. Overall, this has been a wonderful place for us to stay and we've been here over 2 weeks now. We definitely appreciate all that they do for people...
