I stayed here last weekend with my school. I had never attended a Young Life camp and I was very impressed overall. The accommodations were great, all the buildings were very nice and it was cool how they all had a cohesive theme (Western themed.) The food was excellent, the dining hall is spacious and has huge glass windows which allow you to overlook the camp. My only complaint was with my cabin’s showers and bathrooms, they were not as bad as other camps I have been to but they could’ve been cleaner. However, I know that is something you just have to deal with at camp so that wasn’t a huge issue for me. The campsite is absolutely gorgeous, I loved the views of the mountains that were so prevalent. I went on the zipline during free time one day and it was awesome, it’s a short ride and not super fast but it was really fun. The staff were very professional in helping us which was comforting, but the wait to zipline was pretty long because of the amount of campers we had. If you go in the fall/winter definitely make sure you pack layers! I did not have room for enough layers in my backpack and I regret not bringing more items to keep myself warm. Overall I loved my experience at Crooked Creek and look forward to...
Read moreI remember that time at the WAH Boot Camp (2017) me and some guys were hiking up this ridge in waist deep snow. We came to a road and instantly thought, "Man, it'd be great if we had something to ride down this hill". Suddenly, we looked over and there was yurt on the hill. We go and open the yurt up and found some canoes, and a couple folding tables. A couple guys took the canoe and rode it down the hill. Me and four other guys had our ideas set on riding the folding tables upside down, like a sled. It did not work as we thought, however it took me back to my years in Scouting, remembering times of great ingenuity, and craftsmanship and when we made what we had work, in many different situations. Other than the life change Wild at Heart has brought me, I could not take back that day back on the slopes...
Read moreWas here for a Ransomed Heart Boot Camp and had an outstanding stay!!! Great ranch\campus. Dinning hall was spacious and grand, check in was easy, auditorium was laid out nicely and cabin bunks were clean and comfortable.||||The ability to be undisturbed by the outside world was a big plus for me. You can get to town quickly should the need arise....but that never happened to me! I had a great 4 day stay here. The Young Life staff were a large part of this....friendly yet industrious. ||||If you have a chance, stay here! You won't regret it! Oh, and their Buena Vista ranch is equally impressive.||||Thanks...
