Friday 430pm arrival at check in: The staff member at check in wasn't very nice and was from a different department and had difficulty explaining how to find the cabin. We couldn't find it so we drove up to the ski lodge to rent skis. One of the guys in the rental shop was able to explain which building we were in. We left with our rental skis and were able to find the unit with the new directions. The cabin had flooring material scattered beside the front door from a recent install. The flat TV was with no stand (balanced on its bottom), stand pieces on the floor beside the table. The wifi password provided was wrong. To make things worse, no phone in the room and no cell reception so you have to drive to the main office for each problem you have. A guide book like they have at most resorts with contact info for problems and resort amenities was nowhere to be found. Had to get the correct info from reception and while there I asked about ski in/ski out because I couldnt see any ski runs and they explained that its not really ski in/ski out, you have to take the shuttle to the top every time you ski in if you want to access the main part of the mountain. Room costs almost $300 per night and is advertised as ski in ski out but it isnt. The wires for the Direct were hanging on the wall heater as well as all over the floor. Getting a fire going was very difficult because wood from outside was cold and wet. There were heaters near the baseboard of every room but they looked old and didnt work. With only one heat source for this two story cabin we lit a big fire and hoped we wouldnt freeze by morning.

Saturday (first ski day): Water heater failed first shower. No more hot water!!!!!!! What a nightmare. Called reception and was able to convey that the water heater broke. They can't fix it until tomorrow they said and they can't move us to another room (fully booked) and are trying to arrange hot showers for us in another unit before check in time that day. I looked at the electric panel and found the baseboard heaters were off. WTF? They work?? I turned them on and of course they work. I asked why they were not turned on for our stay and they said it was to save the owners money on their electric bill. Seems deceitful to not tell us how to turn them on to save the owner money. We set out to ski anyway to try to make the best of it. Upon leaving the cabin we noticed that the morning parking lot plow left a 3.5ft wall of snow where there used to be a path to the parking lot. Had to climb over the mound with 3 sets of skis and boots to get to the car. Manager explained that the plow company is responsible for clearing the path where they plow, not the resort. Amanda, the property manager visited to try to help. She stated that a refund will be issued for our stay (that was a lie to keep us there) and they offered a free dinner at the lodge which we didnt want but they insisted. Food was ok and they made us feel like we shouldnt order too much cause it was free. My son didnt event touch his plate.

Sunday ski day They claimed they fixed the water by pressing a reset button. We went skiing happy that things were looking up and around noon the chair lift got stuck. They said to avoid the lift until repaired. That is the only part of the mountain we ski. Only skiing option left was flat green runs :(. The water heater was not fixed despite their claim and again we had no showers. Only 1 shower in 3 days is what we got. There is so much more to tell but this review is getting too long. To sum it up, this unit is privately owned and they couldn't repair anything without approval from the owner. The experience was terrible. The unit was extremely outdated. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I will never go back again. They are not a resort. They are also deceitful. They promised our money back to keep us there knowing that the credit card company will take their side if we stayed. If you dont like your room, dont stay there. Your credit card will give you your money...

This was a fantastic place to mount our gear and ski around for a few days. Our crew stopped by for a three-day weekend to explore the mountain and assess what it has to offer. The end result was fantastic, with plenty of entertaining runs and a decent amount of distance to cover. Their greens were perfect for beginners and their blues were well balanced for those in the middle. Their blacks appeared to offer a solid challenge (although we did not attempt any of these this round), and they offer a lengthy blue route to make it up and around and all the way back down to the lower resort section. Their section for tricks seems to offer just the right amount of challenge for those looking to step their game up and have a little more fun with their run and their staff seemed to do a great job at interacting with guests and adding to their experience.

The long run that goes all the way around and down to the bottom section, created by multiple blue runs that connect into each other, does sadly involve some flat areas that might be a little more flat than you’d prefer. There is also a portion that requires you to trek on foot uphill quite a distance to get to the next section to ski down. This process to be a challenge due to the altitude. That portion was unfortunate, but for the most part, the rest of the run is fantastic. You will most likely be pretty tired by the time you reach the end of the run (a lift that takes you back up a short distance to the lower resort).

The individual blue runs in general, as mentioned, have a fantastic balance to them. This is good for those who are conditioned blue skiers/boarders as well as those looking to try a blue for the first time. A few of them are a little short, one feeling more like a shortcut in between two greens more than an actual run. However, most of them will definitely leave you tired by the end of the day, and ready to job in the hot tub.

Also, we found ourselves unable to ski one of the days as they decided on shutting the mountain down due to winds. The winds outside were up to 50 mph or greater, so this was understandable. They also pointed out that this has only happened a few times throughout the years. However, they did drag their feet to the last second, waiting till it was nearly 1PM to make the decision. Since they close at 4:30, it was a bit of a waste of time even if they chose to open it, unless you had a season pass. However, there was a large bus-load of school kids from Las Vegas there for just the day that probably went home pretty disappointed after dragging their hopes out for so long. Since the early morning till the decision was made, the upper lodge building was packed with guests hoping for good news, waiting hours for the decision to be made. They also hesitated to open the food line, which was odd, until a few hours or more past the stated hours they normally open at (9am). With so many people waiting around and the kitchen being right in front of them, this was unfortunate. They should have opened the line to every immediately so they at least had something to munch on, and maybe even offered free hot chocolate to everyone waiting. A good deed, no matter how small, goes a long ways.

Outside of that, the food (when it was being served) was good and the people behind the counter were fast and courteous with everyone. We met a lot of good personalities that worked there and this always adds to the urge to want to come back and do it all again. This of course we already plan to as soon as possible.

On a normal day where the winds don’t wreck the experience, this is a fantastic mountain for all levels of skiers/boarders. Nothing comparable to a place like Tahoe of course, but when you consider everything else in Utah and nearby, it is thus far is one of our favorites. It isn’t overcrowded by any means, the runs are a lot of run, the prices are perfect, and it will leave you wanting to come back as soon as possible. All of the attributes a mountain...

My kids and I had an unpleasant experience at the top of the skyline lift yesterday. I’ve sat with this deciding whether to review and decided it’s important the resort is made aware for safety and training purposes of the employees.

I’m an avid boarder and have loved teaching my kids the skills. This time one of my children decided they wanted to learn to Ski. After several successful runs down the bunny hill I took him and my snowboarding daughter down glacier glade, leaving my board up top so I could be as helpful as possible to my son. When we reached the bottom my son was exhausted and didn’t want to ride the lift. Fortunately some kind employees offered (were not asked) to take us both up on the snowmobiles and my daughter would ride the lift and dismount on her own. For the first time. When reaching the top one of the employees instructed me to tell the employee in the ski lift hut to slow down chair 13 so she could comfortably and safely get off. Up to this point the experience was great with zero complaints.

At around 3pm on March 9th, as instructed I walked the short path to the skyline lift hut and as I did an older gentleman with a white beard came out of the hut and began approaching me, I do feel it’s important to note that this man had a strong stench of alcohol.. As he began approaching me he asked me what I was doing in a condescending tone. I tried to explain what had happened and to please slow down lift 13 so I could help my young daughter. He began berating me and yelling telling me to get away from the hut and I could not be there, disregarding any notion that he had heard me. I stepped back so I could be further from the hut, but still within earshot and again repeated to please slow down lift 13 my daughter would be riding alone and needed it slowed down so she could get off easier. Again ignoring what I said he continually told me I could not be by the hut.

Please note that I never stepped foot near the controls or near the skyline lift hut. I was only on the snow pathway to the hut. At least 10 feet from the hut.

Acknowledging that he was not going to listen to me I turned away. Then he yelled at me as I walked away for having attitude, which I certainly did not. Concern for my daughter and frustration at being yelled at yes, attitude no. I turned around briefly to reiterate that I had only approached the hut to have him slow down chair 13 but because he wouldn’t acknowledge me, the conversation was over.

Eagle point as a seasoned boarder, I have never been treated in such a poor regard and felt concerned at your resort in the past or any other resort in Utah. If there is a rule at your resort not to approach the ski huts please post signs educating skiers of your rule, again it’s never been a concern at any other resort I have been to.

Lastly I truly hope that drug and alcohol testing is completed for employees especially those that have a task as important as...
