This is a brand new, well done RV resort, complete with an incredible clubhouse with gathering spaces, pool table, ping pong, sofas tables, TVs & fitness room and well designed pool area with hot tub and lots of tables & chairs. The RV spots are very spacious, although there is zero shade anywhere. The laundry room and bathrooms are spotless and spacious. There are awesome pickleball courts. The staff are courteous, kind and our reservation, with a change was handled well. There is even a nice sandy beach area directly on the Colorado River, complete with tiki umbrellas and a hut for shade. If I stopped there, the place was perfect, except for a couple of items that may or may not be important to you. 1) there is absolutely nothing to do in the area. No attractions, no retail, no restaurants, nothing. And if you do venture out, the area is rough. We drove to the Albertsons in a neighboring town across the state line for some groceries and they even lock up the shampoo/conditioners due to theft. (The RV park is well fenced and gated so we felt very safe) 2) the resort was very quiet during the week, but on the weekend, there were so many kids in the pool and hottub, I couldn't even get in. And there are so many ATVs (nearby sandy wash) that drive in and out all day long it was bothersome, as they don't obey the speed limits, kick up dust and music is blaring. Just so you are aware. Overall, I enjoyed my visit as we were looking for a restful week and we spent nearly all of our time inside the RV park enjoying the incredible amenities.

Believe me if you want to stay in a place where the manager targets you this is it and if you like going in your brand new RV then this is the place for you because all you will be doing is sweeping up gravel all day long because the roads are horrible a two-year-old could have done a better job than this. Another thing is it's not a dog friendly RV Park as the manager himself doesn't even own a dog and that's why it's not. I showed up on the 5th of July and the manager just came to my door and told me that my monthly payment that I paid $650 was expired and it hasn't even been a month not until the 5th so needless to say this place has a lot of nice things about it but believe me it sure as hell isn't the manager or the upkeep on the and if you have trash hopefully you don't mind walking a football field length to get to a nearest trash can a 10 million-dollar and they have six trash cans I recommend looking elsewhere like the river lagoon it's a lot less money and the people are friendly and they have a beautiful store and laundromat. The resort's roads and sites are paved, though they're having some issues with the pavement but it's still a solid surface, better than most RV parks I've stayed. The landscaping is attractive and appropriate desert-sparse, no shade or cover from wind. My site is large and level, which appears typical. The bathrooms, laundry facility and clubhouse are clean and attractive. There is access to the Colorado river. The several staff members I've met throughout the resort are pleasant and helpful, As of Jan 2023 the laundry room is not fully equipped. The dryers haven't arrived yet so they let guests use the single industrial (double sized) dryer at no cost. The laundry uses "Wash" payment service. Good AT&T 5G service. The freeway is in the distance and can be heard, I am not bothered by it. I rate the location 2 because the short ride in the from freeway is not attractive. The town is small so you'll likely go to Quartzsite or Blythe for shopping.

I cannot RAVE enough about River Sands RV Resort! 6 months ago, with a phone call and a dream I called River Sands to ask them to host my wedding. Lou, the general manager, immediately was open to it and wanted to discuss the details! Fast forward to this last weekend, my wedding dreams all came to life! The entire staff at River Sands is PURE CLASS! Every single person you interact with is incredible! Lou, Kevin, Dawn, Cruz, and Yasmin are hands down the best people to work with. They make River Sands feel like home! Yasmin and Dawn are your first points of contact at the front desk and absolute angles, so sweet and thoughtful and answering the phone on the first ring! Kevin is most likely the first face you’re going to see in the morning with a giant wave and a smile, making his rounds around the resort to make sure everyone has what they need and seeing if there’s anything he can do to help. You will also see Cruz all through the resort making sure everything is operating as it should and getting taken care of! Lou is constantly coordinating with his team and the man with the PLAN! Lou and Kevin were so attentive to all the details of hosting the wedding there and constantly going above and beyond to add or change things to accommodate the wedding. We are so grateful to the entire staff for everything each one of them contributed to seamlessly bring our vision to life. The pride each of them take in making this resort such an incredible place shines through with everything they do.

Our entire weekend at River Sands with our guests was an unforgettable experience. Having a mix of cabins and RV sites allowed almost all of our guests to stay on site all weekend. Upon checking into our cabin, Lou had placed a welcome gift, champagne and the sweetest note and the absolute kindness of his gesture brought me to tears. The cabins themselves are BEAUTIFUL, clean, and such a wonderful accommodation all around. And there was so much fun to be had all weekend at the resort for all of us. From water aerobics in the pool Thursday late afternoon, to boating all day Friday, to hanging by the river bank on Saturday, straight into the ceremony set up on the beach and reception set up in the clubhouse. Our ceremony setup on the beach was picture perfect and even had shade over half because of the umbrellas down in the sand. Off the referral of Dawn, we hired El Chapparo food truck for our catering and because they had been to the resort before, they set up and began serving without any need for instruction from us. Kevin quickly got the tables we had rented from River sands over to them to set up for dining. Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food and service was! We then transferred into the clubhouse house and not only is it absolutely gorgeous with the high ceilings, a beautiful chandler, and exposed beams but it is filled with the funnest games! Our guests were playing corn hole, ping pong, and pool! There was even a section for a dance floor that turned out incredible! River sands graciously let us keep the decor overnight in the club house (we organized it and placed into the corner) and allowed us to pick up the next day.

If I could give any advice to anyone looking to host an intimate wedding at the river it would ALWAYS be to call River Sands! Thank you to everyone at River Sands for everything you did for me and my family and friends this weekend. We are forever grateful! River Sands is a place we’ll never forget and continue to visit. Thank you for being apart of our love story.

We stayed here for one night while traveling between Phoenix and Joshua Tree National Park. The park is a few blocks off of I-10: you san see the bridge across the Colorado River but you can't really hear any road noise. When you park by the office building to register and/or pick up your map and WiFi information, ideally you want to position yourself so you can reach the gate keypad when you drive away, but not block anyone else's access to it (though in our case the young man at the desk offered to punch in the gate code for us)

This big-rig friendly campground has 265 pull-through and back-in RV sites, along with 8 cabins. All of the roads are chipseal (think asphalt under a thin layer of tiny gravel) and fairly wide. The sites have wide asphalt pads (probably 25 feet; didn't measure) allowing you to park alongside your rig, and are separated by either gravel or large rocks. The hookups are all located around the middle of the site. There are currently no shade trees, though many sites had saplings planted in between them.

We had booked one of the standard pull-through sites near the entrance, but even though many of those spots were empty, for some reason they put us in one of the deluxe pull-through sites at the back of the campground (site 1005). They didn't charge us extra, and that put us close to the clubhouse and to the river, but it also put us far from the fenced-in dog park. On the other hand, we didn't pay to lock our site, and if we'd realized what they'd done before we drove away from the office, maybe they could have switched us back.

While we didn't make use of the clubhouse, it is a really nice facility, with two lounge areas with TVs, several table games like pool and ping-pong, a nice exercise room, and an outdoor patio leading to the pool and hot tub area. We did take advantage of the river access: dogs are allowed on the beach, which is usually not the case at most waterfront campgrounds. In addition to the beach and the dog park, there are a number of dog stations consisting of a large mat of artificial turf and a poop bag dispenser with trash can located throughout the park, and a number of sandy areas on the edges of the park, so there's always some sort of dog-walking option nearby regardless of where your site is. Walking by the dog park, I did notice there's no dedicated path to it, despite the fact that it's located behind sections of back-in sites, so there's potential for improvement there.

The WiFi at this campground, at least in the clubhouse area, is impressive. I saw speeds of 150 Mbps down and 248 up. They also offer 30 or so channels of DirectTV via the WiFi, accessible via QR code on a smartphone or via a special IP address typed into your browser address bar.

In terms of cell service, the best bandwidth I saw on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna showed 14 Mbps down and 9.5 up, and I had no trouble streaming video during our one night stay. The speed test I ran on my 5G AT&T smartphone showed 206 Mbps down and 9 up.

We would stay here again if we were...

River Sands RV Resort has truly exceeded all our expectations and then some! After selling my last vacation home due to a divorce, I was heartbroken and worried I’d never find another place that truly felt like home. But then came Lou—he didn’t just help me find a new vacation home, he unbroke my heart. His warm, caring demeanor made all the difference, and this deal wouldn’t have happened without him. Dawna was also fantastic, always ready to assist with a smile. A huge shoutout to Cruz and Kevin for staying on top of everything. While I don’t know all the staff by name, they are all trained like a five-star resort team—friendly, professional, and always making us feel welcome.

The resort itself is an absolute dream, truly having everything you could want on the river—something rare for even the best parks. As a born-and-bred Arizona native who has been coming to the river forever, I can confidently say River Sands has thought of everything. If I had designed a dream resort myself, it would look exactly like this. The well-thought-out gym, sparkling pool, bubbling hot tub, and the private, gorgeous beach that feels like Mexico are just the beginning. The clubhouse is stocked with TVs, foosball, pool, ping pong, and board games. There are plenty of dog-friendly spaces, and the park hooks directly into off-road trails for endless desert adventures. You can fish, swim, and even spot wild horses in the area! The stocked catch-and-release pond is nestled among the tiny homes, adding to the charm. There’s also a pickleball court, a small playground, and a separate bath and laundry house that is always sparkling clean.

Beyond the amenities, the community vibe here is unbeatable. We had a fantastic Christmas with a potluck dinner, have enjoyed community bonfires, and can’t wait to join game nights. There’s even a pizza place and bar within walking distance—a huge plus! While the park is peaceful and quiet with stunning desert scenery and fresh air, Blythe and Quartzsite are nearby for grocery stores (ranging from budget-friendly to Albertsons) and affordable restaurants. Parker is just up the road for bars and a Walmart, but I love that River Sands is a calm, relaxing slice of heaven. Unlike many parks along the river, children are not just allowed but genuinely welcomed and treated kindly. My kids beg to come back as soon as we leave, and the best part? Even with the fastest WiFi on the Colorado River, they hardly ever use their devices because they’re too busy enjoying the outdoors!

We feel incredibly lucky to have purchased one of the tiny homes, especially since only a few are available. They even allow Airbnb rentals and will work with you on managing them! Whether you're looking for adventure or a peaceful retreat, River Sands truly has it all. We couldn’t be happier!

My husband is a disabled Army combat veteran and this was always his dream before we met. Our six year old took off his training wheels at River Sands. We are all so...
