We stayed at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch for 2 nights in mid-December. We were surprised to find snow on the ground and it really added to the experience. Despite the cold outside, our Smith cabin was warm and comfortable during our stay. They had the heater running before we arrived, so it was ready for us. The wifi was choppy, but we were able to access our emails a few times a day; it was actually a relief to be forced to put the electronics away and focus on family for the duration of our stay. The ranch was a quick drive to the Grand Canyon West Rim and the Sky Walk. We spent a few hours exploring Eagle Point on the afternoon of our arrival. We enjoyed the Trail ride that met up with the Sunset Wagon Ride. I was able to ride up with my older children, while my husband rode in the wagon with our youngest who is still too little to ride. It was nice that the whole family could enjoy the trip. Our youngest felt really special sitting up front with Cowboy John and the trail horses were great. It was one of the best rides my kids have been on. Even though our youngest couldn't ride on her own, she was able to get a pony ride around the property. We really enjoyed all the hospitality. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was a good selection for meals and despite the ranch being sold out during our weekend, it was never crowded. They even have some family games available in the main house and we had fun playing Trouble after breakfast. The highlight of the trip was the campfire in the evenings with s'mores. Cowboy Casey's stories and songs were a hit. My kids asked for him everyday and we often got to see him during meal times and he joined us during our Sunset ride to give us some history about the ranch and the bison. After we got home, I started playing some of his music from his website, and my kids simultaneously asked "Is this Casey?!". After our stay, we asked the kids what they liked better: our one night stay at Bellagio, Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon Western Ranch; they unanimously voted for the Ranch. We would definitely look forward to staying here again.

This is warm welcoming place where you go to disconnect, you don't come here for WiFi or in room microwave or fridge (cause they don't have it). You come here to partake and experience simple Old West style living around campfires, horseback trail rides at sunset or go by covered wagon to look at the domesticated Buffalo herd on site. The cozy cabins have a cool tub with a handheld shower head (no stand up showers or shower curtains) but do have heaters and electric blankets for the cold season or AC for the summer, that will keep you and your loved ones comfortable. Other than that the amenities and decor are very rustic and authentic. The staff is super friendly and professional, they sport western wear with spurs and the like but don't act corny like cosplay, just courteous. It's a small privately owned business, so don't expect a concierge at a front desk 24hrs, just a regular person that stays on-site. Great family environment, less than 30 minutes to the Western rim of The Grand Canyon Skywalk and close to other points of interest. Just ask the staff, they have local knowledge with great suggestions on places to go. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer. Decent menu and food selection for on-site grub. While fairly adequate, the restaurant and bar does close shortly after dinner, so plan ahead for after hours/early morning snacks and drinks other than bottled water provided at check-in. Kitchen opens just after 7am for coffee and full breakfast at 8am. Keep in mind because of covid, some of the "typical" attractions/activities they normally have are limited, but this place has more than enough going without them to be a destination as is. This site is rich in history that dates back to early settlers that adds to the immersive experience, definitely coming back!!!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay than Grand Canyon Western Ranch. We did the glamping for a night, and what a great way to experience tent camping with some added comforts like a bed and A/C. Two full bathrooms with showers are centered between the tent area and literally a 30 second walk to refresh from all the activities this place has to offer. This place also has a small restaurant onsite with a small menu but that didn't matter to us at all. The staff was amazing and so friendly they made the stay feel like home. While we went during the week, they had to shut down the grill for cleaning for a few hours, which wasn't an inconvenience at all because they made the best club sandwich I ever had. They always were so accommodating, which you can't say for some major hotels. 10 stars for the staff. We didn't get to experience the bonfire because we knocked out, but you will hear the amazing voice and human being of Cowboy Casey singing during the campfire. He will also bless you with his presence in the restaurant and sing some songs while you eat. Finally it was a short stay for us but there was one activity my 12 yr old son wanted to do and that was the old school lever action shooting range. By far the most memorable experience for my son. Cowboy Casey is the safety instructor and ensures everything is covered before you handle anything. Cowboy Casey THANK YOU for the biggest highlight for my son when he rang the bell on the target. His face lights up everything we talk about it. If you want to add some great memories on top of being close to western rim of the Grand Canyon. Go see Cowboy Casey and the amazing staff at Grand Canyon Western Ranch. They have glamping, cabins, horseback riding, shooting range, and more.

False advertisement on their website. I booked the overnight "camp out" for myself and three others for a Saturday night. The website describes an unforgetable experience detailing all the activities included in the overnight campout. For the price of $298.00 pp per night one would think they could deliver on the simple promises. I booked a 2 for 1 through Travelzoo. So I spent only $600.00 instead of $1200.00 for the four of us. My advice keep your money and spend it elsewhere. The management of this ranch does not take pride to deliver what they advertise. The campout was a joke. The horseback ride lasted a half hour at most. The pictured tent cabins and teepes were an exaggeration. They had regular 2 people tents with missing bedding. Some were equipped with mexican blankets only - some with no pillows - some with no sleeping bags. People were cold through the night. The "refreshing beverage" touted to welcome you to the campsite was non exixtent. Not even the offer of cold water was made. The "cowboy" dinner consisted of a piece of precooked foil wrapped chicken (my boyfriend got the chicken back!), precooked foil wrapped plain baked potato - with no seasoning or condiments. A can of ranch style beans was opened and put on a pot over the campfire. All served on a small paper plate. No drinks or beverages served with dinner. Fixings for Smore's (one per person on the chocolate and graham crackers) available. The morning "cowboy coffee" was non existent! The morning horse ride back to the ranch - not to be had as the horses escaped the pen during the night. After calling the ranch twice as we were stranded - we got a ride on the back of a pick up back to the ranch. The "hearty breakfast" at the ranch was cold scrambled eggs, a dollar sized "bisquit" (from a can of generic heat and serve). 2 pieces of under cooked bacon, a quarter cup of yesterdays fried potatoes. The owner Nigel should be ashamed of the way this ranch is being operated. There is no pride of ownership nor a sense of customer service. We learned the cook is off on Saturday's and the maintence man fixed our dinner. I would not return to this place and unfortunately will not be able to speak well of it. The highlight of the trip was the "cowboy" that accompanied us to the campsite. I subsequently learned from someone on the ranch that he is a ranch hand and was asked to fill in at the last minute. I noticed the "cook" didn't prepare enough chicken for dinner to feed the cowboy - really shameful!. To his credit he didn't complain - it was just an observation on my part. Too bad we have to rate this place with even one star. It should be ZERO! If management spent $50.00 for food served to the eight people for Dinner and brerakfast it would have been ten times better than it was. This place was a total rip off! Signed -...

Our stay at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch was wonderful, or I dare say perfection. Very picturesque with Spirit Mountain keeping watch over the ranch. The cabin was comfy and relaxed. They have AC and heat in the cabins. The heat was a faux (gas) wood burning stove and was very cozy to fall asleep to. Our cabin happen to be near the horse stables and one of their horses named Comanche would come over and say hi to us every morning as we left. Sometimes he would turn and want his back scratched. We came to find out later that Comanche is a full on Mustang. Can’t be ridden yet but that should be a spirited ride when you can. Very fun. The onsite restaurant was great. Staff was so nice the food was good. Every night around the campfire with the backdrop of Casey singing cowboy songs we would roast marshmallows and eat s’mores. There were even guests from the other guest ranches in the area that came to see Arizona Casey singing by the camp fire. The entire crew was very nice and eager to help you in any way they could. But a few stood out. Linda – the busiest woman in Arizona. Working the front, the restaurant, and helping guests. And does it with a smile. You could see it in her eyes, ‘cause the face mask you know. Casey – Arizona Casey! What can be said? He is a treasure. A wealth of entertainment, and a wealth of knowledge. His telling of the Ranch’s history is absolutely incredible. When he is singing cowboy songs or making up one of his homegrown ditty’s around the campfire the worries of the world just melt away. Dean – The confidence of this true cowboy just radiates as he handles the horses and guests. Going on the sunset trail ride and having never ridden a horse I was nervous and anxious but he got me on the horse (Daisy I think?) told me how to hold the reins and said enjoy the ride. With his quiet assurance I knew it would be okay. And it was. He checked on me throughout the ride....
