My husband and I just got married at La Foret (Inglis hall) on Saturday 8/16/25. We booked the venue over a year in advance and from the beginning to end the staff was nothing but kind, attentive, and easy to communicate with. The venue turned out so beautiful and we got non stop compliments about how wonderful it was and how great the location was. If you’re more of a DIY wedding couple then La Foret is the place for you. We couldn’t recommend it more!!!!

I had a wonderful time at La Foret for the Seeing No Stranger conference! The Black Forest in Colorado is beautiful and the first thing I saw was a deer grazing in the meadow! They are filling a great role there.

I've been going to La Foret for church camp for years. The location is beautiful. The facilities are well maintained. The staff are super. I enjoy the dining hall food too.

I loved this venue for our wedding; it had everything we ever wanted at a price we could definitely afford. HOWEVER, due to the horrible communication and customer service given by their coordinators, we were unable to book here. I worked mainly with Melanie, as she was the coordinator who responded to my initial inquiry in November. It was like pulling teeth to get any information or answers to my questions. I'm a certified wedding planner, so my questions were very specific. It would take her days to give me a response, which were only a couple of sentences long, and come to find out she is only there three days a week. However I was told it was a shared email that the other coordinator had access to, but she didn't bother responding either. I finally had to call to get my questions answered and to check about a specific date Melanie had said was being held by another group. She put me on hold four times and still did not have an answer about the other group. Another week went by without any follow up and I had to email her twice to get a response. She said they hadn't heard back so the date was ours to book, finally. I requested a daytime block from 9am-6pm under the knowledge that they only book one event per day, per facility. I also requested a tour so my fiance could go see it and so we could get some other miscellaneous questions answered all at once since email was so unreliable. Come to find out it was a self-guided tour with no staff onsite. It was another two weeks before I received the rental contract to look over and when we received it, it had the incorrect rental time on it. When I asked about it, she said she was waiting to hear back as to when the other group in the morning on our date would be out by. Upset that this wasn't mentioned before and uncomfortable with signing a contract and paying the deposit, I told her to hold our date and to let me know when the other group would be finished by, as this was a deal breaker. She responded with a snarky comment of "Wedding plans are pretty fluid so making these changes are a normal part of the planning process" meaning that basically it could be months before we knew for sure when we would have a set rental time. As a professional planner, no absolutely not. This is not nor should it ever be considered a normal part of the planning process: stressing out the couple and wasting their time is unacceptable. Yet another two weeks went by without a word, I sent two follow-up emails and eventually had to call in again. She said she had seen my emails but hadn't gotten to them yet, but that the other group was staying until at least noon (meaning tough luck with what we had talked about and my wedding would now have to be from 2pm-10pm.) I asked her for available August dates to switch to seeing as September was completely booked now. She had only one day available, however THE SAME THING; she needed to check with the other group and see when they would be out by. She wouldn't answer my questions as to why it isn't listed on THEIR contracts either. We have now wasted TWO MONTHS worth of planning waiting on them to decide to contact us and do what they said they would do. We haven't been able to contact any other vendors due to not having a date or a solid time to book them for and we've had to increase our original budget to look elsewhere. As beautiful and budget friendly as this place is, it's not worth the frustration, wasted time and feeling unimportant/ignored. I will never recommend this place to my clients no matter their budget, simply for peace of mind knowing they won't go through the same...

I'd like to thank the La Foret C & RC for an awesome place to host our family reunion, our families really had a great time here. The yurts were awesome, Columbine and Kinikinik and the Ben Smith were great, wish there was running water by the Ben Smith, but other than that it was an awesome place to enjoy time with family, big and spacious, the staff were very helpful on the first day we went to check it out to the day of the reunion. Great place to have any kind of family function or event, would definitely recommend to anyone, thanks Black Forest for being so close to home, only 15 min from our home, would definitely plan another reunion or family gathering...

I recently got married and thought of La Foret from an overnight camp I had attended years ago. It was the first venue we looked at and the last! We ended up choosing the larger space in Inglis Hall. Booking and planning with their staff was one of the easiest parts of the planning process. The communication and information was clear and easy to understand. I told them how I wanted the tales set up and everything was perfect on the day we arrived. The area is so pretty and peaceful. I am so grateful for the experience and hope to...
