While there are very few negative reviews, I booked through Airbnb and saw that about a year ago, another reviewer wrote that the property is beautiful, but unfortunately they are the type of owners to blame guests when things go wrong and I should’ve listened to that.
During our stay, our dog got out through a broken window screen, which we realized was damaged prior to the incident through photos we took at arrival, which I didn’t notice until I checked after. My dog was missing for 8 hours and fortunately he found his way back and returned to the cabin. I notified Airbnb the next morning as I was concerned that it was not checked thoroughly, and that this is a safety hazard, especially in the woods, wildlife (bear, mountain lion, person trying to harm someone etc) could’ve easily gotten in.They instead went on to accuse me of actually damaging the screen myself. I have time stamped photos and videos showing that the screen was damaged when we arrived, and after the incident, showing we did not tear it up, as they claimed.
Additionally, Glenn (the owner) started harassing my friend, via text saying “we destroyed their faith in humanity” and would not stop berating us, despite asking them to not contact. In his review to me on Airbnb, he also mentioned that we were trying to receive compensation which I NEVER asked for. All I wanted was for my dog to be okay, and simply for them to be aware to prevent this from occurring in the future, and instead of apologizing or even acknowledging that this was a possibility, they instead reacted aggressively and in an appalling manor.
Please pick anywhere else to stay in BV, it is a stunning cabin but there are so many better options where you won’t be harassed after an already...
Read moreI don't even know how to begin.... This place was just simply amazing. Everything about it. You can tell they put thought into making it the best experience possible and take pride in it. From the little things to the big (eg. Complimentary drinks & pool floaties to surround sound speakers around the private hot springs). It was such a wonderful experience. I can't say enough about it. We stayed in Holloway cabin and it was an absolute dream to soak in the hot springs while listening to and watching the nearby rushing river. There was tree coverage in adequate amounts so the nearby road did not impede our privacy. Even the neighboring cabin didn't impede our privacy, as the way they are set up made me forget we even had anyone else around. I could just relax, listen to music, appreciate those I was with, and melt away into our private hot springs in a breathtaking area. Oh! And I haven't even MENTIONED Jacqui (the cabin manager)! My God, she was just as amazing as the place! Her costumer service was just absolutely refreshing and on point from the very first time we talked to the last. I can't say enough good things about her either. I can tell she loves her job and she really went the extra mile to make the whole experience that much more enjoyable. I am normally not one that writes reviews, but there is no way I could walk away from this one without doing so. I would say, it was a little bit hot to stay there in July without an air cooler of any sort, but that's expected in a Colorado cabin (there were multiple fans available though). No matter, It was just such an absolute pleasure to stay here. 10...

Pros: It's a beautiful place, the sound of the creek really makes it. merrifield cabin has a lot of space -The cabin is about 10 minutes away from town. -Two fire pits -Privacy -cute bridge to cross the creek that has lights. Our first stay the lights were not working but this second stay they were working -wifi was working 2nd stay, a little slow and spotty but overall worked okay. We could connect our Chromecast to the TV. -cabin has decor -dogs are allowed for an extra fee 2 soft robes -bottle of champagne in the fridge with chilled glasses the shower has 2 shower heads pellet stove -writing our names/dog's name is a cute touch -bluetooth speakers inside & outside -cottonwood lake is 15 minutes away
Cons: In the email they say they will have some drinks and condiments in the fridge. Everything was expired BOTH stays. -The towels smelt like mildew and were not soft. -There is red ants everywhere on the deck, by the fire pits, & hot springs so when sitting on the chairs they would start crawling on you or the picnic table. -Broken chairs. Two of them were broken. -first stay there was a light inside the hot spring you could turn on, second stay it wouldn't turn on. -wifi wasn't working 1st stay -there was hair in the bed sheets that wasn't ours. -the toliet had a dirty ring inside
General: Going in the summer time May-Sept is probably your best bet for activities to do around the town like the scenic tram, horseback, Zipline,...
